It seems a bit more common now that we've seen the same thing a bunch of times in the form of Skrulls, Cylons, etc... but I feel back then it was a brand new, cool concept: Paranoia in fantasy.

This is one of the main reasons I was sad when RJ passed on, because I really wanted to see Cadsuane's potential outrigger novel, especially the part where she found out the Black Ajah was A) real; and B) she avoided being assassinated by them for likely a number of years (although, warding your chambers seemed to be a great way to avoid that and we don't know if Cadsuane ever got on their list of KILL HER). Granted, she had a bit of an advantage thanks to her Power-negating ter'angreal, but that doesn't mean she can simply ignore the Oaths or assume a given individual was a Darkfriend to defend herself in the event of a surprise attack.

My official response is "I just like clicking buttons", but my internal pronunciation of FYI is "eff why eye". That is all!

Mentioning ONE THING in passing that's happened IC and it turns out it heavily intersected another PC's interest and you had NO IDEA that the other thing existed.

I still haven't fully recovered from that discussion, because it was that surreal. It's been almost two months since then and I'm still kind of 'well... that was unexpected.'

Peeve of my year: emotional instability because work pisses me off like nothing else I can recall in recent memory, to the point I've either got to try for a brief FMLA leave to settle myself, or find a new job.

Follow-up peeve: This shouldn't be a fucking trend for me.

Peeve: My body not making up its mind as to how tired it feels, to the point I go in to get my thyroid checked three days ago (got hit with hypothyroidism last year depleting my energy often) and EVERYTHING IN MY BLOOD WORK IS NORMAL.

I like to do that to firstimpressions, myself. I haven't had a chance to give someone theirs yet (was a very brief window of opportunity), but their firstimpression is literally going to be all caps yelling. >.>

@Darinelle If I am going to try and do this exact thing (eta - make questionable choices) albeit on a far lesser scale, does that make me a copycat or a staff-enabler?

More seriously, not only have I done it, but I did it on purpose so I could better understand their mentality. Svoran in particular was... a lot of character psyche research. It's why I did it so much with him in particular.

@Cobaltasaurus I'm not sure if it's marginally funny (it kind of is now?) but:

Those water marks you see would be what my power supply got from a somewhat empty jar of stuffed olives (the brine) going into the top of my PC case back in January. The motherboard (partially seen above) was ground zero from where my clumsy ass knocked over that jar on the desk. I was really lucky that both the SSD or HD on the now-old rig survived with the data intact for me to salvage some really important files.

Shelled out $1200 for a new PC that could handle the gaming things I do. Also known as: "what tax return"

I have simple tastes with respect to the thread title:

Sleeping in when I don't have to go to work or any appointments. Wake up, look at clock. Peace out for two more hours or until I feel like it.

My brain. Kind of conceited, but I don't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't have the writing-related thoughts that I have, even though something in there overdoes it a LOT at times. Makes the 30m bike trip to/from work less onerous (esp. when cold, raining and/or wildfire smog). It's the primary reason I broke out of MUDs into MUSHes and the like where the focus was more on who you were and what you did, rather than what you were statistically.

Indeed! It's a symptom of my work mentality: DO IT PROPERLY, PEOPLE. It's also what I tend to like playing color-wise in MtG (when I'm in the mood to play MtG), so it's a 2-for-1 significance really. Plus, I like the Azorius symbol and the fact it's actually called the Maze of Azorius.

The biggest MU Thing I Love(tm) would be those moments when I realize facets of a character's personality that kiiiind of, but not really, show up in chargen and/or RP, then something comes up and it all clicks together as if I'd been thinking about it on some subconscious level the whole time.

In other words, personality eureka.
