I assume that was an aww of pity because it's sad. >.> Part of why I want a proper Erin Condren planner is it's a pain to draw out the lines for mine every single week.

"Awww, quaint", I suspect. She also informed me that the one I showed you isn't an Erin Condren. She has a few, but that one isn't one of them apparently.

I forgot to tell you that I showed her that picture of your journal. She awww'd at it. This also prompted her to try to convince me that I had agreed to keeping a planner of my own in exchange for things. I'm like 91% certain that I didn't.

As has been previously stated, my spouse rather enjoys planning. Plannering. Planteeling. I don't know what the hell to call it. Last night as we were discussing a few matters, she gasped aloud with an idea.

Mrs. Faceless: "Let's get you a planner! For Son's appointments, our date nights, or anything else that you may need to remember!"

Faceless: "I remember our appointments just fine. I don't need a planner."

MF: "Yes you do. You really do. We'll get you stickers, it'll help you keep track of things, I can watch you write in it, and we'll need to work on your handwriting. Then I can take pictures of it and put it on my planner Instagram." ((I should note that all of this was said with a strange sense of desperation. Like a junkie trying to bargain for a fix.))

F: "I don't need a planner. Wait... you have an Instagram specifically for planner things?"

MF: "Yes. I have a few hundred followers."

F: "...what? Really? A few hundred people for planners?"

MF: "Yes. They even have conventions. Like those Cons you talk about sometimes."

      F: "That's cool and weird, I guess. I still don't want a planner though."

      MF: "Come on!"

I'm kind of over this whole sick or just being under the proverbial weather, thing. It's inconvenient and time consuming. I rarely get sick. Very rarely.

A new germ-ridden kid in the world though and suddenly my body just decides it's going to opt out of that track record. Boy got the flu last week, which sucked. Then I got it, since I was the one up consoling his confused and scared ass until the wee hours of the morning. Then Wife got it. We all got better after a couple-few days, of course. But now...

Now for whatever reason it feels like swallowing needles any time that I swallow. No other symptoms. No fatigue, headache, congestion, or anything. I don't have allergies or anything. I feel spry and hearty as per usual. Except that annoyance of a sore throat. I really shouldn't want more kids, yet that's the great debate around the homestead of late.

Maybe I should just get a dog.

Old mIRC rpg. Cyberpunk/Shadowrun/Escape from L.A./just a little of everything post-apocalyptic game based in a wall-enclosed Los Angeles. Big central park area, polluted all to hell, three-legged ducks and shit.

I had played for quite some time, roughly in the top three most powerful characters on the game. Largely not important to the story, but just an indicator for future reference. The following wasn't my act of mean, but I merely offered a few suggestions and acted as a glorified henchman for the event. This game also had something called 'bios', I think? So basically if you died, it'd shock your system and you'd pop back up with like 20hp or something - usable once per scene, basically. It's been nearly 15 years or so since the events, so they're a bit fuzzy. Anyway, practically everyone has Bios. It's just one of those things you'd get your character hooked up with pretty early on. The game functioned on 'Lives'. Basically like a video game - you got 25 lives for the duration of your character. Reach 0 lives and the character's dead, permanently.

So my rl friend's character has a PC that he's all in twu wuv with. We'll call her Candy. They're bound to get married. Yadda, yadda, yadda. His PC discovers that she's getting a little side action going on and naturally his character is furious over this, but he keeps quiet about it. Doesn't confront her or anything like that. So he concocts a plan to get revenge. Ron was a mage or necromancer or something, a couple spells and he could really wreck someone's world or basically alpha strike them to the point of "death".

His character asks her to marry him. Yes, yes, god yes! she replies. So they make the arrangements, they set the date for the wedding scene. Meanwhile, rl friend(we'll just call him Ron) has his character going around talking to people. My character(we'll call him Simon) being one of them, a few of my character's pals, and some of Ron's pals. Incidentally Ron and Simon enlisted a roster of roughly seven of the most powerful characters in the game for Ron's little plan.

So the wedding begins. Outdoor wedding in the park. Three-legged ducks quacking around and stuff. The pollution smells excellent that day. Simon(again, my character) along with all of our recruited pals are in the audience, save one of them. The best shot in the game is far, far, far away. So Ron and Candy are doing their whole vow exchange thing. Ron's gradually transitions from all lovey dovey 'You're my moon and stars' expressions to 'I know what you did and that is very, very not okay'. Ron casts a couple spells, Candy drops dead in a heartbeat. Boom. Bios kick in. She leaps back to her feet all 'Raahh I AM ALIVE'! and BOOM. The sniper enlisted drops her again. This ultimately drops her to 2 remaining Lives.

Naturally Candy's pals are immediately prepared to go on the offensive, when suddenly some of the most powerful characters in the game are on their feet and reaching for their own weapons in support of Ron. Candy's pals quickly realized that they were outmanned, outgunned, and generally going to end up dying a lot themselves if they wanted to try anything. No other deaths that day, but it was great to see the overall plan go off without a hitch.

I think Eldritch has been defunct for about a year and a half now? Again, I think. Pretty sure that's where I was when my last kid was born, which was two years ago.

Great, fun game overall. Played a Demon, Mr. Bowman. Eldritch really helped me appreciate that 2E splat. I still don't trust Ms. Oven's ass.

I think players tend to assume/talk like they're more gung-ho about character death than they actually are when it's them dying, and any game-runner is going to have to be prepared for that.

@Seraphim73 and random people I never really got to know from TGG can attest: I ain't afraid to assault a trench on my own. Everyone else will catch up. Eventually.

Nothing much. Bug-squishing. But there's also the military politics involved as well, if you wanted to head into that angle.

That's where my mind was at on the matter. The large scale combat would be served well with the system, I think. Just a bunch of pve focused splatting.

Would you like to know more? (I couldn't help myself)

I caught a full cup of milk to the grill today, when my aspiring MLBer of a 2 y/o chucked it full-speed at my face. Then he locked himself in his room and I discovered that we don't have a key for that particular lock. Thankfully it's a junk interior door lock so I was able to get that open with ease, without the need to boot it.

Meanwhile, at 14:00, my wife was having mixed drinks on the job. Then toward the end of her day went down and sampled different wines. While being paid. Why? No reason. The CEO just wanted to do it. Oh and they have beer on tap in the lobby, of which she informs me she loves the pumpkin spice beer. Vending machines? Nah. Snacks just sort of out in the open and free. Like they're feeding a bunch of damn pigeons in the park.

Upside? I didn't have to put on pants today. While I think that maybe I should renegotiate my benefits package, I may come out ahead purely for that reason.

Edit: No, there was a reason for the wine. "It's First Friday! Every first Friday of the month we have a party!", "Why?", "Because it's First Friday!", "......"

Edit2: No, this does not actually make me angry. I'm actually quite happy that she loves her company and they do things that make her love her job. It just didn't seem something to put in RL Things I Love, since there was some grumbling on my part.

On a different note, Elder Scrolls. Jesus, Joseph, and Mary would I really like an Elder Scrolls game. There are so many options for time and place that are basically all super interesting and engaging, the lore is just that rich.

10/10 would play for the Lusty Argonian Maids.

@Apos said in MU Things I Love:

@Thenomain Doesn't happen as much on games with coded money and any feeling of resource scarcity.

This. Playing on a game with coded currency, I've watched auctions take place and there's a real sense of competition. Good competition. People started small or at a moderate level and the stakes became increasingly higher until what I imagine what was each of us side-eyeing our available funds and getting to the 'too rich for my blood' levels.

Flip side to that, I've been present for auctions on a WoD game where coded currency wasn't a thing and the auction was vastly different. Where someone has presented an auction and immediately someone's shouting "$25,000!", "$50,000!", "$75,000!", "$132,638.42!!!!!". Not exact figures, but the example is still sound. There is less investment risk without hard figures and it reflects in how people play. 5 dots of Resources and 2 dots of Luxury is so vague compared to I have $14.32 until next Thursday and would really like a big ass, greasy cheese burger.

Hell, I recall someone on either The Reach or Fallcoast(I think it was TR) posting a Classifieds ad or whatever was the equivalent bboard, about wanting to pay someone something like $20k(I think the first time it was like $12k and it was increased after no one bit) to 'go on a date' with their PC. Which that could of course happen in reality, but without some means of codifying the value of that income? It really accounts for nothing in the grand scheme of things. Short of a justification to increase Resources, even though I'd side-eye that as a suitable justification since it would be a short-term increase of income until it gets thoroughly blown on cocaine and McFlurrys.
