I would also love to find some non-dead games that aren't Arx.

RE: MU Things I Love
I probably do. That place is getting so busy these days, I love it. It's almost like a World of Darkness game, except there's no drama, no supernatural things, and people actually like one another.

That may be false in part of the United States.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Me: “So, I did all the errands, but they were out of brownies. So I got cheesecake.”
Her: “Oh.”
Me: “ ... “
Her: “I told you to get cupcakes if they didn’t have brownies.”
Me: “When?”
Her: “When we were at the Christmas show with the kids.”
Me: “ ... “Being in a committed relationship is like death by a thousand fucking paper cuts. I want to scream and shout, but the fuck I’ll take some karaoke and bourbon.
Edit: I don’t do favors for anyone else. I don’t. I’m not a servant or a slave. Be damn grateful if your partner does your errands for your office party, people, especially if they can do everything else around the house without you.

RE: Learning how to apply appropriate boundaries

We need a Your Fun Is Not My Fun But Your Fun Is OK variant of the kinky one just for this.
I'm all for this, but it can be a little draining when others always try to draw you into RP that is their fun, but not your fun. And then, when you deliberately attempt to avoid them, they get either snarky or accusatory.
Seriously draining. I've left games for this.

But I have long since given up on the rom-com genre for ever portraying a healthy way to go about pursuing a love interest.
I think Warm Bodies was great, but --

Lies require intent. If you say what you believe to be true, then you're not lying even if what you say is not true.
This is how normal people speak.
Lawyers are not normal people.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
In the context outside of a courtroom, the listener has to determine if there is an intent or not. That determination has to be made from available facts.
Going back to my story, it’s really not about a lie, intent, or deception. It is about whether one should be gracious and accept an undesired product from a loved one rather than point out that you told them what you actually wanted. Because doing the latter is a very quick way for that loved one to stop doing you favors.

Yes. I don't honestly find this kind of display very constructive, because the projected margin is so slim it's in 'who gives a damn' territory, but is presented in a way that all but begs for interpretation by people who don't want to math out the systems as "oh no if I don't do this right I am at a big disadvantage".
I see it the same way Pyrephox did, and I like the number-crunch. All I'm seeing is that there isn't really much of a difference, so it's not worth getting my knickers in a twist. That's encouraging, not discouraging.

RE: Holiday Recipe Exchange
Gonna post up this sick and simple shortbread recipe.
1 cup of softened butter.
1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
2 3/4 cups of flour.
1 tsp of ground cinnamon.
1/2 tsp of peppermint extract.Everything except the flour into the stand mixer. Mix until creamed nicely. Add equal amounts of flour in three portions. Stir with stand mixer.
Put into 13” x 9” baking pan. Mash and flatten into flat dough. Jab with fork several times. Bake for 35 minutes at 300 degrees F.
Cut into squares after out of the oven. Cool for 20 minutes.
You’ll thank me. This takes about an hour to bake.

At some point, the fellow using math and numbers to demonstrate something is just going to stop doing it, and frankly I find the math far more interesting than 90% of the responses thereto.

Those content creators, the actors chased off of social media, and the people who play wanted to be a part of Star Wars to keep it going even though the prequels were horrible? I respect them. They're keeping the candle lit. We are all on the same team, and Disney is working to keep it going, too.
And this is why I find so much wisdom in Ratatouille.

I have been working long hours, so I am willing to acknowledge that my CoD MUSH Lore may have dropped below 2.

RE: The Work Thread
When I was younger, I honestly preferred to work than spend time with family. And my friends spent time with theirs.
This year, I watched my kids all day. With two trials coming up in two weeks, I would have preferred work.

RE: criticism not allowed in ad threads is only enforcing a false positive, prove me wrong
@paris said in criticism not allowed in ad threads is only enforcing a false positive, prove me wrong:
On a personal level, I got tired of the constant stress from so many players AND staff about XP creep-- nobody was happy about their XP levels, people with high XP levels were viewed with suspicion, nobody wanted it either faster OR slower, etc.
I can understand that.
The offer remains open. I'm not a perfect person, but I've been told I make for a pretty good World of Darkness staffer.
As Derp said, I'm not exactly sane.
