@Derp Did you buy a wireless dongle thingy?

I truly love being a part of a technical community.

I'm not going to lie. When I saw this, I thought of the thing sitting on my nightstand.

However, really we are here for you, well I am. So if you need to vent there is a PM button up there. Just let me know first if you want me to listen and shut up, or if you want me to silver line the dark cloud.

I know people are here to listen, but mine isn't a problem that requires venting. The lack of interest or motivation or enjoyment is simply as it is; I doubt that talking about it here will assist.

I've spoken with two therapists now. None have said anything I was not already aware of. None have given me any advice that I have not already attempted. Both suggested drugs, which I refuse to take due to my past history with drugs and my current profession as an attorney.

I think I may have to accept that cynicism has reared its ugly head.

I think the jest of my post is that a lot of us are still grieving our diagnosis. We have to redefine our real lives and having to redefine our hobby as well, might be a bit too much to admit to. We aren't ready. You do have grief and all the steps when you get a diagnosis of mental health as well as terminal things.

I'm still in the grief phase. Not sure when I'm going to hit anger.

      Everything is still meh.

I get so many 'almost sneezes' a day now and its like sex without orgasms.

Dude, sex without orgasms is great. You know what sex without orgasms is called?

SEX. And if you're not orgasming, YOU CAN HAVE FUCKING MORE SEX.

Sex without orgasms is like a high without an end.

The only downside is that they still haven't gotten rid of all the lawyers. πŸ˜„

So, now you know why I'm not going.

But, it's a serious question, and it has little to do with the city itself. Why would anyone want to move down there? It's a legitimate question.

My feeling is that many of us on this board are settled where we are in terms of friends and family, if not for employment. It is a difficult sell to move to a new place.

The only plus I see is it being plastic and there are French Presses that come in plastic (though I have one that's glass).

French presses should never be plastic. Metal and glass only, unless you want some of that plastic nonsense leaching into your hot coffee.

I have a French press, and it is awesome and easy. Better than the AeroPress, in my opinion.

But I don't use any of them at the office. In my practice, if there isn't a fresh pot of coffee at 2 PM, heads will roll.

I'm appreciative of the upvotes, but there hasn't been much nterest in the offer.(aside from one maybe. So there is hope!) I'm a little disappointed!

Why are you disappointed? Why would anyone want to move to Austin, TX?

I have a few local ramen places myself. I'd order delivery from them every goddamn day if I could afford it.

I have duck confit ramen the other day.

I was disappointed; they served it with soba noodles.

So am I the only one who puts green pepper and Worcestershire sauce in their meatloaf?

I find that the green peppers are either too crunchy, which ruins the texture of the meatloaf, or too soft, which ruins the texture of the vegetable.

Worcestershire sauce is a fantastic addition; however, I prefer to add stuff like sweet chili sauce (which crusts up nicely around the edges) and soy sauce.

As for oatmeal? Ugh. Fuck that. I go with crumbled bread.

Mm ... no, can't agree. FF 6 takes it for me.

I haven't played 15, and YET I knew. I knew there was a lot of teenage moping. It's the one constant in FF games. Except for Tactics, which is the best FF game, in which there was a lot of teenage MURDER and SOLDIERING.

I like FF 8 the best because the teenage moping was intentional and a key part of the character -- and the story. (Forgotten orphan kid; mother figure goes batshit and disappears, then becomes the evil sorceress; gets hit on by teacher; finds a pretty girl that likes him; failure to connect makes him lost in the time stream; etc.)

That said, FF 15 doesn't focus on the moping. Ignis is a narcissistic know-it-all; Prompto is what you'd expect from a young sidekick; and Gladiolus is muscley-supercool. I like the party, for the most part.

What FF 15 fails to grasp is a compelling story and dialogue, but I get it -- it's a JRPG, and these things aren't important to them.

FF15 is good too. I enjoyed it immensely. Some of the story felt a little contrived at parts, but I don't even care. The visuals and combat system were totally worth it.

The visuals? Definitely. The combat system? Needs work.

The story is terrible, but I expected no less from a JRPG. I just wish that Square ENIX would put out something for Western consumption that doesn't feel like a subordinate dumpster fire.

I put it on my list. It's just under ME:A.

Still wading through FF 15. I'm only at Chapter 8, but I've spent almost 40 hours on it getting to level 49.

Hello I'm here at your house for dinner

You'll have to wait in queue. I have a partner and two hungry monkeys ahead of you.

Also -- bread is super important in meatloaf. Really. I liked to grind up focaccia for flavor, but challa works as well.

Because I'm a bit insane, I'll mix all of the above in with a bit of mire poire, and then let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours to allow the veggie goodness to seep in and become one with the chorizo spices and fat.

Common meatloaf mix is beef, veal, and pork. Meatloaf without doing a mix of meats -- not necessarily that specific mix, but something! -- is so weird to me. I don't just want a loaf of ground beef! One of my favorite mixes I've done is bison, lamb, and pork.

I like to use lean pork, turkey, chicken, and beef chorizo.

I'll have to try this loaf pan thing.

You should. It's not just a Midwestern thing; it's also a Chinese-Canadian-from-Toronto-area thing. The good thing about a loaf pan, I've found, is I can make the loaf a bit more moist.

A little teaser of some of the new SW Ep. 8 material. Totally canon, according to the artist and Rian Johnson.

I will say you are doing yourself a disservice by avoiding Hidden Figures. I actually think it's a crime that Taraji Henderson wasn't nominated for Best Actress.

      Taraji Henson, my friend.

And you would be doing yourself a disservice if you miss Fences as well. I don't need to see it to know how could it would be; I saw it live on stage, and to say that it was powerful is an understatement. It's not often when people cheer and clap when your token black lady yells out YOU GO SISTER in the middle of a staged performance.
