I'm working from home today and my cat is being 45 degrees of needy. WTF.

RE: Good TV
@Roz Well, to be fair, between the ages of 4-12 so many boys are walking embodiments of Mac from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia whose interests include:
- Sweet karate moves you claim to know
- Feats of strength
- The encyclopedia knowledge of cool looking guns and other weapons of warfare
- Being able to perform pro-wrestling finishers
- The path to becoming the actual Batman.
At this time, girls were my sworn enemy, and came across to me as:
And then I hit 13 and...
Sadly, GLOW fell into my 4-12 age range at the time.

RE: Good TV
Did anyone watch the RL GLOW back in the day? I loved the Netflix series, and it got me super nostalgic for it. When I was 11 I was torn between my mixed desires of wanting to be a GLOW wrestler, roller derby diva, actress, or astronaut.
This is gonna sound misogynistic as hell but back when I was a kid I gave zero fucks about GLOW because I was a boogery, GI-Joe worshipping, He Man Woman Hater Club BOY who thought nothing was more awesome than the power of Hulkamania and the Ultimate Warrior.
...and then I grew up to find a lot of my old heroes who told me to say yer prayers and take your vitamins, brotha ended up being racist, sexist, homophobic drug addicted god-squadders who (not joking here, re: Ultimate Warrior) went on Alt-Right speaking tours about how faggotry was wrong.
I woulda been better off watching GLOW and Rollergames, but god damn at the time I thought the raw power moves like the Undertaker's TOMBSTONE were just amazing, and GLOW didnt have that grade of testosterone fueled roid rage power that I thought was awesome.
IF/WHEN GLOW comes back out I'll probably watch it, but if you're looking for pro wrestling roght now that treats the female wrestlers with equal respect, check out Lucha Underground on Netflix. It's fun and a lot of stories.

Saw Castlevania with the partner last night. Loved it.
Then, saw an episode of A'Jin. We split; she didn't like it, but I did. Anyone else have thoughts on A'Jin? Should we move to another series?
I liked A'Jin a lot. I thought the ego factor of the shades or whatever they were was neat. It was also a nice departure from the male anime lead being some super friendly boyfriend trope. He was
kind ofsociopathic. -

12 year old boy sense of humor faction? Though to be fair, I make more fart jokes on faction channels or pub than I do here. ;). Maybe immature humor faction would be better cause I can't really pass up a menstrual joke either, really.
What did the pirate say when he turned 80?
AYYYYYYYY MATEY
What does a pirate pay for corn?
A buccaneer!
What is Bruce Lee's preferred beverage?
WATAAAAAAAAAH!

@Aria it reminds me of the last episode.

RE: RL Anger
Can someone explain to me why apologizing in the apology thread is a bad idea? I'm not trying to be snarky or snide. I legitimately don't know, being as I'm relatively new here. From what I've gathered in my five days or so on MSB, most of the forum activity revolves around arguing about who started it and who's stopping it and whether or not we can call people cunts, and.... I dunno? Apologizing seems like it would resolve most of those things maybe, I guess?
So...this isn't me drudging up old history, but it was originally started by me around the time I was quitting mushing for the (
8th9th10th11thwhothefuckknows) time. I had some regrets about the way that things went down and I thought that maybe a thread for people to air regrets or apologies might do the community some good.Well, there was a discussion about what what an apology is and isn't, suspicions about whether some apologies were genuine or lip service, it kinda turned into a thing, but I think it's okay now?
I was more joking when I said to not post in the thread. If it works, it works, but like all things internet forum related, tread with caution, I guess?

RE: RL Anger
@kk That is precisely what I'm talking about. My cafeteria at work sometimes stocks it, and there's a lot of taquerias around where I live that carry it.

Don't apologize on the apology thread.

RE: RL Anger
Anyway, no one gets the authority of the final word, especially when the final word is nasty. I will stop at the point where there are no factual arguments left to make or, like most people, I get bored or RL calls me back.
Okay but...
Not seeking a resolution but wanting the last word equals...

RE: RL Anger
@Ghost Thank you for apologizing. I appreciate it. In turn I apologize for snarking at you initially because it is clear that what I intended to be mild snark came off in a way more nastily than I intended.
I genuinely have no memory of any past axe ground between us before this incident so if there was something else coloring this for you I assure you there was not for me.
Water under the bridge.
I have to understand that my style of communication sometimes leaves snarky sarcasm indistinguishable from talking shit. It doesn't help that I HAVE been guilty of talking shit, which only makes it more likely that sarcasm will be taken as such when it wasn't my original intention.
That and people wanna stand up for their friends and the games they enjoy, because when people are assholes/overcritical about games, it discourages them.
Queue an apology I made to @Seraphim73 and @GirlCalledBlu nearly a year ago that I'd forgotten why I'd made it in the first place.
I'm still going to back off of poking around games for a while to give people room, but really I need to revisit my priorities, anyway.
Why did I care so much about a journal system? PFEH, at the time I was thinking about metagaming and I think the idea crossed wires with other issues I've had over the years, so I got sarcastic.
Not a hill worth fighting on to begin with.

RE: RL Anger
@kitteh what resolution are you actively seeking in this situation?
I'm not being snide when I ask this.
This is going to drag on forever and I think the best thing that both yourself and @surreality can do at this point is to either take it to private messages, or respectfully, without rude language, state what your preference for resolution is.
This:
Not this:
If @saosmash and I, or @shangexile and @surreality can find a decent resolution that puts the knives away, so can you.

RE: RL Anger
In that light, I apologize for calling @saosmash a mean thing.
I missed an opportunity to private message or reply with something like "hey, come on, I'm not trying to piss on something you like, I'm just being snarky about a concept I don't get"
But instead I was like:
I missed an opportunity to present myself as who I am in spirit, and that's 100pct on me.
I think you did a good thing in the end @shangexile . I commend you for that.
