I just spent 5 minutes trying to spell corduroy. My initial attempts were so bad even spellcheck was like 'bitch i got no idea'.

You dont know how to spell corduroy but you like Conor Oberst.

That's some black belt level "Bad Hipster" shit there. In the years I knew the scrawny douche I don't think I ever saw him wearing anything but.

@surreality Yanno, every time I see the word Nazi, I hear Brad Pitt.

      "GNAT-SEES"

      Thanks Quentin Tarantino.

Second thought: Kinda feel like calling them "gnat-sees" takes a little of that power away from them.

"I am a proud member of the Knot-see-"
      "Whatever, Gnat-see"
"Uhm, I believe it's pronounced knot-"
"Oh dont you feed me that Samhain is saaaaw-when crap you anti semite 1940s larper."

Trust me after 4 episodes detailing goku's run down some 700 miles of Snake Way across months worth of it, I totally get why there is an abridged version.

Alas, i masochist out of solidarity for my poor friend having to listen to Minmei's yowling.

@Ghost There's guides online to skip the filler episodes. Somewhere.

Yeah but I'm making my DBZ friend watch all of Robotech. So since he has to suffer Minmei, I'm going full native and watching all of it. So no DBZ Kai for me.

(I'm enjoying it, but have a loooooooong way to go. It's like running the Snake Way.)

TMW you wake up at 5am to get to work for a 630am "town hall meeting" only to find no one is at work because they intended to sleep in and watch the replay at 8am.

But @Tyche kept telling us he wasn't a racist!

And that he'd never heard of any of the places he posted his alt-right poop from, and that it was just a weird coincidence that he kept linking to "news" sites that have "ISRAEL DID 9/11" on their home page, and that all his funny memes about what dumb bitches women are were just random jokes he felt like sharing.

Tyche should've been banned a year ago, but better late than never.

God it's terribad, the way some people act like they just stumbled over a stone and found some perfect news article that frames their political argument du jour. The ramp up is always some kind of fake pastor story, like when a pastor goes "I was at a comic shop this weekend and someone asked 'Hey, do you think theres room for cyborgs in heaven?'" THIS CONVERSATION IN NO WAY FUCKING HAPPENED.

Anyway, I digress, but it's like: "I ACCIDENTALLY came across this One World News article about Hillary Clinton..."

      C'mon. Bullshit.

Tyche didnt really seem to have interest in interfacing with anyone constructively on the forum. He mostly just haunted political threads to ruffle feathers using superskeeeery alt-rightisms to watch people's reactions. Not surprised to see this, but ultimately I question why he wasted his time to begin with.

@Derp Interesting to investigate, but I'm reading on the differences between how Oscar nominees becoming Oscar winners vs Grammy nominees/winners. Slightly different processes but for both the short version is: people within the industry itself decide and vote.

@Auspice My only quirked eyebrow is at the timeframes turnaround to protest of these awards shows and the "totally organic(?)" response to those protests.

Oscars had an "OscarsSoWhite" protest is 2016 and the following year a record matching number of black actors/actresses were nominated/won.

The Grammys then had "GrammysSoMale" in 2017 and the last 2 years headlines are awestruck at how women are now dominating the Grammy Awards.

I'm not complaining about it (I could give a damn who wins what awards; I think these award ceremonies are more promotion of the industry than actual awards), but in that light I somehow question just how organic the turnaround is.

Then again, if the end result is the promotion of something more empowering/positive, then it's probably a net win.

Well, Penis Man has been apprehended. It's not great that a SWAT team with assault rifles was necessary to catch a serial graffiti vandal and it looks like they're hitting him with the book.

WAIT, I came to this too late.

Is there an honest to god Coyote fan here? I thought that was a myth!

In theory, kinda. If I ever want to catch the Oilers live, it's cheaper to fly to phoenix and buy a ticket there than to get a decent ticket here.

When the Yotes come back from a 3 goal trail to beat the Red Wings, and while you're excited AF walking to the parking lot and a Red Wings fan yells out "YOURE WELCOME FOR THE TICKET REVENUE" because 70% of the house was wearing filthy bad-people costumes with names like Yzerman, Federov, or FUCKIN BERTUZZI on them...

      True story.

It's probably cheaper to see the Oilers in Glendale than Edmonton. God knows Leafs and Habs fans are milking the out of town discount, too.

It’s crazy because he picked Fiddler, instead of a relevant franchise player, like Hawerchuk.

Silly Americans. Those are Canadian franchises.

      Go Nords!

It's not crazy. Sure. Fiddler was only on the Yotes a few seasons, but I loved the guy. Tough as nails, great at faceoffs, wasn't shy about getting physical. After watching him play I followed his career. I dont know if he wanted to leave the Yotes or if they didnt meet his asking price or what, but I feel he was a great addition to the team.

Besides. Everyone fucking loves Doan and OEL is the only other player that they had that you couldn't expect to disappear after a season or two, anyway

@JinShei NP. I think my ONLY complaint is that CBS all-access is 5.99/9.99 a month (9.99 no commercials) and that Picard is dropping 1 episode a week, so I can predict exactly how much I'll be paying to watch the whole season of Picard.

I decided that I'm gonna stick with watching this one as each episode drops to SUPPORT the show in hopes that there will be a 3rd season (season 2 has already been greenlit and online I guess Stewart offered Whoopi to join the cast!), but Netflix has spoiled me with being able to pick a show up and binge the fuck out of it in 3 days.

Not a fan of these mini-Netflix services, but Picard IMO is worth the cost more than Discovery is. I'm biased, though, because I think Trek should have never left the Prime timeline.

      @Rinel Uuuuupvote.

Yea, no spoilers, but Stewart seamlessly slipped back into the role (and another old face despite not having the same face channeled an old character perfectly). The first episode SOLIDLY set up the season, Picard definitely takes place in the "Prime" timeline, and this new story is intriguing as hell with the implications about WHO this new girl is.

I suspect this season will showcase a culmination of the best TNG storylines, crossing the Romulans, the Borg, and the crew of the Enterprise.

The first episode is SO GOOD that it feels like it goes by too fast. By the end shot (which, I was going "HOOOOLY SHIT" during and the roll of the credits I had chills. So much to explore. After the episode there is basically a trailer for "what's to come" in the future of this season, and ALL OF IT looked like stuff I wanna see.
