@jennkryst I was briefly interested in an online L5R game. I was told by the players there that being a courtier was the worst option, because anyone could join a talking scene, but courtiers could not realistically join any other kind of scene.

@kestrel I have no personal experience with it, but someone I know is on medication, and without getting specific, he once said that he only needs to miss a day's dose to notice big changes that negatively impact his life.

I think it could be improved on, especially the DS port, but I don't know if that could be done in the current AAA environment. One of the game's biggest strengths is how tight and lean it is; it only takes about 25 hours to beat the game. The current "games must have two hours of content for every dollar of the price" attitude would likely ruin it unless you got in there and put in actors with voice lines and stuff to pad the runtime.

@sunny Hard for me to believe Chrono Cross would get that before Chrono Trigger, but I'm all for a more polished Chrono Cross with a hifi soundtrack.

Eh, not really. At least in the comics, they're pretty much all Superman power-wise but each one excels at a different one of his specific powers. How distinct their personalities are is down to the writer, of course.

Wrestling with a sense of feeling wrong for being attracted to a woman who is very clearly trying to attract men, not women, and almost definitely not homoromantic women who exist in some nebulous area between having no libido and just plain being asexual of some kind. I know it's stupid to feel that way because nothing says I'm only allowed to be attracted to women in polo shirts and khaki shorts, but I'm so used to enjoying the hotness of queer folks that finding an exceedingly straight woman attractive is messing with me. Like, that thing I just said about her being exceedingly straight? Yeah, I'm so confused and uncomfortable that I'm deflecting my feelings and trying to justify them by creating insupportable narratives in which she's trying so hard to look straight because she's deep in the closet and some part of my little gay heart can sense that, which then makes it not weird to find a hot woman hot.

I can't tell if sexuality is confusing or if it's only confusing because we have to navigate it in the context of a society that has some truly fucked up preconceptions about how sexuality is supposed to work, but either way, this shit needs to get simplified, please. I don't like how I feel as if I'm betraying my core, fundamental self for feeling this way.

I am. I'm passingly familiar with how absolutly gonzo the lore is, so I'm very curious to see how they're going to try to make that weirdness get a shave and haircut and put on a tie.

New Dad of War game. I wasn't as impressed with its predecessor as a lot of people were, but I did respect that it had grown up since its roots, so I'm at least interested to see where this one goes.
