    • RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?

Another reason I really like Eclipse Phase? You start with a pile of XP. Everyone starts with the same pile. This XP is used to raise everything, and the rate you spend it is the same after chargen as it is before chargen.

My issue with this is that this XP is also spent on other, non-permanent things. Which is why I want a way, not unlike SR5, where you can spend XP on cash for gear, or spend cash for XP. OR. Pile of XP, and Pile of cash.

    • RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)

IF YOU WANT THE EASIEST-YET-SOMEHOW-MOST-COMPLICATED PATH, you will probably want to toss out about half of the setting STUFF in the books and use the guides/suggestions for building your own. By which I mean, the rules/examples from that one vampire book that re-defines all the covenants so that they all interact THIS WAY, instead of THAT WAY. Then do it for all of the things internally. Then do it for all of the things together. With luck, find a wiki genius to compile it all. Bonus points if you find a way to keep the continuity of character backgrounds. I'd offer help, but FLAKE FLAKE FLAKE.

Whoever does, make sure they take a ton of notes and post them places, so if they drop off the map, their replacement knows the plan.

In fact, do this with everything.

It was previously mentioned to be the FFG L5R Beta, but... the FFG L5R RPG is published now, so that might be the thing. OR I could be wrong, not sure what coding has been done.

If skew's SW game is a smashing success code-wise, then you could feasibly run a L5R FFG game if that game'll let you take bits of that code.

      And it'd be on Ares.

Maybe? In a twist that should surprise no one, FFG L5R dice are completely different from Genesys/Star Wars dice.

Buuuut I haven't compared symbols on the dice to see if they can directly sub or not.

I THINK (or would guess/suggest) that the lodges are the social structure, with the base tribe you're a part of being just a mechanical bit, for the purpose of gifts and renown.

@Sparks You code the sheets and ships, and I will get off my lazy ass and @desc the shit out of everything. Because SO MUCH YES TO THE SPACEFLIGHT SIM.

Honestly, both can work. Auto-pilot travel for folks uninterested in manual flight... but tons of easter eggs and neat things hidden places for thosr who will manually explore all of the stuff. Easy enough to do.

Does anyone have the wiki data from Fallen World I can dig through and steal my old character deets from at some point? The Wayback Machine does not have the right capture time, and even if it did, it didn't crawl onto any of the character pages. Woe.

    • RE: Most active scifi games right now?

Sidenote, you're making me want to try to dig up my old source code for HSpace 5, which was a whole scale re-design of previous HSpace systems. It included drift (cutting your engines off and continuing along the vector at X velocity until you set speed to 0... also, if you didn't stop, turn, start, now you're flying in a giant parabolic arc. Fun times) and resource harvesting, among other things.

Ordo aren't inherently awful. They are the most likely to do SCIENCE and whatnot. Their coils used to be about lessening the curse by varying degrees, I'm not 100% sure if that is still the case.
