RE: SunnyJ's Anti-Sexual Harassment Guide
I hesitate to post my advice to this thread, as it is salty and involves burning bridges (which is my preferred method, but Assassin's Creed is right over there, looking fancy.)

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
@zombiegenesis Full Metal Fantasy and Unleashed are both excellent. There is also the old D20 game that the wargame setting was based on, but D20 is tricksy.

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
I forget if I mentioned it before, but the Iron Kingdoms is a neato setting. Might be hard to do, since it is a wargame setting and everyone hates everyone else, but you never know!

@shaggy said in Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?:
... a professional wrestling based MU.
You misspelled Lucha Underground.

Would still pay real money for that sweet Denver Voucher/Item code.

RE: How do you construct your characters?
I am obviously backwards from everyone else, in that I will build a sheet first, and then tweek it as needed. Because we can all say in the background or whatever that you are competant or excel at x, y, or z, but if the cg method prevents you from doing so? I dislike the disconnect there.
As I emphasize the sheet in my mentality, I also take advancement into account. I don't care about min-maxing from a stat/dice efficacy standpoint, but if it is better, xp-wise, to do it one way, then that is the way that I do it.
I find that this helps with some aspects, as it makes flaws almost easier to pick (wow, you are heavily invested in social skills? Let's grab some things that mix that up, or something else that plays up the lack of physical stuffs even more), with a drawback of being hyper-focused and lacking in some depth.
I am my most free with 2e WoD, because I don't HAVE to min-max for xp. Also, the beat system encourages giving yourself goals and directing your rp, gping so far as to reward you for being a go-getter, instead of just slumming it in a bar for votes.

RE: L5R 5E
Belatedly, I can totally help with, like... gruntwork. XP requests, and the normal, tedious +jobs most people hate. Actual RP time or code staffing is tricksy.

@the-tree-of-woe said in L5R 5E:
Cranes dance. Lions fight. If their honor's so out of joint, they can bring their army, and I'll bring mine.
The Cranes will make you look like a bitch in front of your friends and family, and will cut you down in a duel.
Pick a Scorpion. Everyone hates them, everyone expects them to be nefarious.
I already have my Scorpion planned, and no one will suspect a damn thing.
It will be glorious.

RE: L5R 5E
You may also want a weak flag, to automatically remove x successes because of disadvantages.

RE: L5R 5E
@aria Good news is that there are only two dice types, instead of six, so easier. Also fewer symbols. But as mentioned before, the R&K aspect will make it tricksy, mu-wise.

RE: L5R 5E
I would play the shit out of one, and have been rather vocal on the FF Forums about stuff, even. I really think that a MU, given our nature of usual accelerated XP and min-maxing, could help hammer out a lot of the issues, even.
There are some changes to be considered, but all games have THAT.

RE: Dragonlance?
@lithium Indeed. The Mists of Ravenloft. If they are extra spooky, they will hide inside normal clouds or fog.
-
RE: Dragonlance?
Less Crystal Spheres, more Trek. Also ships that could land on land.
Ravenloft usually involved the Mists kidnapping everyone, and having to sort that shit out.

Except Dark Sun,the best AD&D setting of them all.
We had Dark Sun AND Ravenloft in our Spelljammer game.

Re-plug of Spelljammer, since I am on an odd D&D kick.

RE: Potential Game / Temperature Read
@auspice Yes!
Followup query: must take first one? Can pick from set of, say... three?
