Since the kickstarter is off to a phenomenal start, I will re-propose Boats and Hos, a 7th Sea MU.

RE: 7th Sea Second Edition
My favorite things about this is how, unlike other RPG kickstarters that make you buy individual PDFs of old editions, or that only give you like... 4 of your choice? They said 'fuck it', flipped the table, and are giving you all of the old books.

John Wick is awesome. Doubly so when he's a Guest at a convention. Triply so when that convention has a 7th Sea LARP.

I'm mostly interested in feedback on the changes that were added in 3rd edition, or things that maybe you wish had been added but weren't.

XP is a problem

It's not a bug, it's a feature!

We didn't say it was a bug. We said it was a problem. It is operating as intended. What is intended is a problem.
@faraday said (paraphrasing again):
Something about justification for choices, realism, et al.
Resounding chorus:
Realism is super boring and shitty. It's a reason people play games. Because games are neat, and let you do things in a non-real manner. You can totally become a master in a year or two, via the training montage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFrMLRQIT_k
Point is, you asked for feedback, and even asked for suggested changes. That you disagree with the feedback you're being given is not our problem. Also, realism is for scrubs. Insisting on realism in chargen and learning time will lead to the ammosexuals insisting on all guns having stats that reflect the real world, which leads to madness.

RE: FS3 3rd Edition Feedback
If it's about simple chargen, why are XP costs for anything even involved? Because it's not just about chargen.

RE: FS3 3rd Edition Feedback
In short: A master (4) of skill 1 can become well-rounded (2) in skill 2... FAR faster than someone well rounded (2) in both skills can come close to equaling the master (4). God help you if you took four skills at 1, instead.
We could, but I like tricksy code, and I fear few agree with me on that. Alas.

RE: FS3 3rd Edition Feedback
I will always advocate ether everyone having a pile of XP, and no CG points, or if you must have CG points, then XP costs working in a linear fashion. Sure, everyone CAN be well-rounded. Meaning it is within the realm of possibility. Just like it's within the realm of possibility that the Nigerian prince who sends out all those emails is legit royalty and will totally follow through on his promise to give you cashmoney. Neither of them are remotely probable. But it could happen.

RE: Kinds of Mu*s Wanted
Warhammer is not the wargame setting I'd be most interested making the transition to mush. That goes to Warmahordes.

RE: Make us love your favorite game
I have mixed feelings about the Iron Kingdoms ruleset. On the one hand, I love the setting, and the tabletop wargame is super keen. It translates amazingly well to an RPG, especially the roll/eplay aspects. There is no social attribute; do you intimidate via explaining in elaborate detail (Intellect), or by brute force (Strength), or perhaps by doing some knife trick (Poise)? /How/ you do it, dictates which thing is connected to the social test. It has a very fun feel to it.
On the other hand, all of the careers and shit they made for the RPG are pulled directly from the wargame itself. You want to play a gobber bard? Fuck you, the only bards in the setting are Trollkin, SO YOU CAN ONLY MAKE TROLLKIN BARDS. Also, while it is not level-based, there is an XP-progression chart that everyone follows, rather than you getting to pick what to spend your XP on. I want very badly to figure out how to translate this to a mush, but given the lack of 1:1 across the board with careers (it relies on heavy GM involvement and the need of a firm 'no' or six at times) and xp, it seems overly tricksy.

RE: Temperature Test: D&D?
I hate level-systems and vancian magic, so those would be my gripes. Would tolerate them for a proper spelljammer setting.

@tragedyjones I see your dungeon crawl, and raise you Spelljamming

RE: New forum version
It's not so much that the 'go to last unread post' link isn't working, so much as it's a blank white box of nothing on my screen. Also, yeah, it doesn't bring me to the last post on this thread, either.

RE: Star Wars: Force and Destiny MUX
Because it is set after Ep 4, you could also have Age of Rebellion! Excitement!

RE: Star Wars: Force and Destiny MUX
I'll help with all of the building, but will need another crash course in @dig code, because I always forget between instances of when I actually use it. Story-fu for the occasion I have free time for it.

RE: New forum version
I get popup blocks for everything just fine, except for the 'go to last read' option, which is a blank box that doesn't work half the time. Otherwise the update is working fantastic for me, now that I know how to resize the reply box (thanks for pointing that one out, @Glitch !)

RE: Star Wars: Age of Alliances
You may have noticed lately my pushing really hard for a FFG Star Wars game to spring up (with volunteering to @dig the grid and everything), in part because of a few of the policy decisions on AoA. I have nostalgia filter, since it was my first MU*, but Star Wars is kind of like Shadowrun, in that there are few options out there that are not Saga edition (as awesome as my time on Generations of Darkness, was, I have ISSUES with level-based systems in general, and d20-ish moreso). My vote for a time would be 1000 BBY, set during the war that happened riiiight before the rule of two was created, even if that means I can't have my Gungan/Ewok buddy cop adventure.
Re: Features - Phasma is played by one of the coders... when she's not busy writing code and fixing broken stuff, she's handing out plots to our First Order characters. I ran Random NPC Stormtrooper in a plot, and it got to the point that it ran so long, the three of us who hadn't passed out were begging her to step in and save the day, just so we could sleep. She did not oblige.
The rest, I couldn't tell you if they are staff or not. Luke is busy hanging out in Ireland. Rey is busy hanging out in the desert being VERY invested in not leaving. Kylo Ren is passing out plots like a boss and giving SWAG to pretty much everyone in the scene. Hux is being a ginger space nazi. Maz is providing any number of plot hooks in her castle. Han and Chewie are trying to hire some folks to move animal cargo. Leia and Poe are, presumably, doing things with the resistance in the shadows. I don't really pay attention to them.

Checked this place out.. 50+ players on! Pretty impressive numbers for any MUSH these days, much less a Star Wars game.
This is mainly because it's the only Ep 7 era mush (and it's only competition in Star Wars is Generations of Darkness, set during the early years of the empire). But it's fun, none the less.

EDIT: The only other teenagers we ever saw in the movies were Luke and Anakin, one was a whiney farmboy and the other was a space creeper.
Leia is about two minutes younger than Luke, so include her. We are one-for-three in 'teens who have their shit together'. Possibly more, once we know about all the new folks from the original trilogy greatest hits album.
