@tributary Brak Sector! That was years and years ago, I already have forgotten who I played but your character name seems to ring a bell.

RE: An Apology to BSO and BSU.
@downwithopp This is Kell/Alek from BSO, just wanted to chime in my experiences from an outsider's (who didn't know much of all this drama that was going on) view looking in. I don't think we've RP'd with each other from other games in the past, or I just don't remember as I'm really bad at knowing who is who until it is pointed out to me.
You ran a lot of scenes and mission stuff which was great in my book, a definitely plus for the game. The minus I saw was as others have mentioned, your ability to just kill off or retire characters continuously, sometimes within months. That's a big minus because not only does it kill any relationships and connections you have with others in the past, it also leads to the consequence of other players not willing to put in an effort to build connections with your new flavor of the month character.
My advice is that you posted your apology, a good first step. Just leave it at that, there is no reason to argue with others about what happened. It might not be how you saw it, but that doesn't matter as what matters is what they felt when interacting with you. Just leave it be, go back to lurking and silent mode. Focus on changing how you behave and how you play your characters, stick with one or two characters at most and just keep them going, through thick and thin. Avoid relationships since that seems to be a trigger point, and try to shed the behavior you have identified yourself as what other people dislike and want to avoid. The only way to change for the better is to work on continuous improvement on yourself, one step at a time.
Path to redemption is available to everyone, just some roads are much more difficult than others.

RE: Cheap or Free Games!
I have both wings of liberty and heart of the swarm. I want the newest expansion free!

RE: RL Anger
One.
I have two kids and one cat. If one of the kids wants a cat, they will have to kill one child or the existing cat. And I know my cat is pretty damn fast.
My household is always going to be interesting.
Two children enter, one kitty leaves! THUNDERDOME!

@tempest Been watching people play it on Twitch TV, been hilarious.

RE: Make MSB great again!
@arkandel I agree that more moderation of content is not the answer. That is not what this place is, people should be free to speak their mind with the understanding that others are able to reply in the same manner, at least in hog pit. In the other sections, try to stay on topic with the proper tone as much as possible and if not, divert to hog pit.
The only "moderation" I believe that is needed is basically housekeeping. Keeping the place neater as was outlined here. This way people have more freedom to choose what they want to read and what they don't. If they choose to delve deeper into more heated discussion, it is their choice to head to the linked thread instead of having to sift through possibly pages of mess they don't want to see to find what they want. That may be a big turn off for some by itself.

RE: Crysta's Playlist
@Crysta I know what you mean, I'm giving two games at a time a shot again but I know I definitely can't multi-scene well anymore.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
One thing that I don't believe anyone has mentioned though I was skimming the thread is that lack of sleep can attribute to weight gain. The less you sleep, the hungrier you usually get. When you get more sleep, your body tends to not get as hungry. Also, unless you have zero muscle mass, 170 at over six feet isn't bad. Having an elliptical at home works wonders for those who dislike going to the gym or doing strenuous exercises outdoors. You can even binge watch Netflix/Hulu/Whatever while you stay on the elliptical.

RE: Why do you play? (Or not.)
Like @Three-Eyed-Crow, I definitely enjoy the improv and collaborative nature of this hobby. Being able to share creatively with others can be fun. Also, especially when I play on games that are based off of movies or books that I have read, i.e. Game of Thrones, Star Wars, etc., it lets me expand creatively in that theme on what else could be going on in that world/universe. When you include other people, you also get ideas that you may not have thought of, which could in turn help you spark new ideas yourself.

RE: Forum Game Thread
There were three close friends, two guys and a girl, that hung out together quite a bit. Both guys liked the girl, and the girl liked both guys, but one a little more. To tease the guy she favored and to make him a little jealous, the girl decided to kiss the other friend. A few months later, this other friend found out that she was his long lost sister.
And then the murders began.

RE: Fires of Hope: A Star Wars Story
Yeah, I meant Force Characters, old habit. Haven't played on a SW game in forever but that was where I started my RP hobby years and year and years ago.

RE: Fires of Hope: A Star Wars Story
Personally, I would prefer it if there are no permanent force apps so that the character isn't a player's character. Instead, you can app for FCs but they are temporarily played, brought in for that particular story arc. The player doesn't get to keep the bit but gets to play the part out, this way players app only because they are interested in building more to the story instead of something for themselves.
Having permanent FC slots will always cause problems, whether it is staff favoritism accusations, player cliques, etc. I can see avoiding staff favoritism by going playerbase voting, but then that causes a deeper and more sinister player politics/cliques to form, potentially more damaging since they will be in it for more long term big gains.
I personally enjoy Star Wars games without any FCs that belongs to the players. I wouldn't want one as it would feel like too much responsibility to shoulder. To balance it so that the character remains fair and fun, while making sure I continue to build to the story. Especially a darker character, since Force Powers, it will be much easier to be blamed for bullying and abuse.

Right. Were I still in Canada I'd have been talking about the gin I bought.
You need to get some Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
You will try it and you will like it. Even if I have to twist your arm.#notallscotchdrinkers
I favor the Balvenie Caribbean Cask more than the 12 year.

Don't you guys love it when someone comes to MSB trying to garner sympathy and instead makes it really clear just how much of a dickwad he really is?
And by "love it" I mean "want to scoop out your eyeballs with a spork just to feel the pain"…
