The needles are very small, and I inject through my leggings, so no one sees anything.

@Tyche uh... good for you? My medications have been being juggled around so much lately I spike and crash with no understandable rhyme or reason. My desk is across the building from the ladies' room and break room. Not something I want to risk if I'm feeling shaky/dizzy like a crash.
So you can feel superior or whatever that no one ever sees you test or inject. I'm just going to fucking deal with my issues when I have to. There's a REASON the law includes Diabetics and is in place.

I also didn't promise HR shit. I told them I'd try, but if I feel way off, I'm not hiking across the building.

-sigh- So I got pulled into the office at work today. So they can 'request' I test my blood sugars and inject my insulin in the ladies' room or the break room, and not at my desk. Because 'some people' have 'weak stomachs'.

So - when I test, there's a tiny drop of blood I put on a test strip. Unless you're RIGHT THERE, you're not going to see it.

      Also? Illegal, per the ADA.

fibro flare, sugars keep trying to slip low, ankylosing is on high today - and then, to add to depression weirdness - Someone asked me why I was out early Friday. Explained it was dad's birthday - less than a minute later, a client called in to schedule - who had my father's first name, and my father's occupation for his last name. Nothing weird about that at all.

@Auspice And, you know, he gives me all the love when I'm down. One can not discount the love of pets.

@Auspice I have a hard time slowing my brain down to one thing at a time. As for getting out of bed in the morning.. I look at Logan, and remind myself he depends on me to feed him and take care of him.

@TNP It's just that I have to work and function, and if I'm already feeling it like this, it ramps up the anxiety about how I will make it through the work week.

My father's birthday is next week. It's the first one since he died. I can FEEL the depression already, and I have no idea how to stop it. I won't see my therapist next week, and I'm to the point of wanting to just lay down and sleep to ignore it all.

@Ghost I love that. And "Shakin' " is a good one - that I liked as a kid... and didn't realize what it meant. 😉 He has a lot of good ones.

@Auspice I wish, but it could be 2 in the afternoon when I need a nap. The speeding thoughts is making me feel like it's doing the opposite of getting better, lately.

I wish I could control my brain. Just now and then, even. So I don't have 8 million thoughts screaming through my brain, freaking me out when I'm in a dark space. That I could sleep. Just... frustrated, right now. Clearly the 'anxiety' meds isn't doing what she expected. Fuck this shit.

New Job wants me to do X, then Y between calls for X, but while I keep track of Z... while not actually giving me the full directions to do X or Z.

This is also me. I take forever to decide what I want to eat until it's crunch time, etc.

But the moment there is crisis? Boom! Focus, snap decision making, take control of what there is to be controlled.

Today I attempted to talk to my boss about working from home one more time, even on a partial schedule. You know, give them one more chance to not have me push the EEOC. They still said no.

So I have now had to find/accept other employment. Which I did. - To a place that is ADA compliant (AKA Macha doesn't have to haul her heavy ass bag up stairs with a rickety railing and watch people get grossed out when my hips pop/grind), AND pays me more an hour.

I've been sick for over two weeks now. Being sick has made my blood sugars completely unpredictable, and sent me home from work more than once. So now, I'm up against the wall with rent due and no money in my savings. Just shoot me now.

@Auspice @Roz I spoke to an EEOC rep, and am now just waiting for a phone interview to finish filing the charge.

Well work 'denied the request' and do not know if they will accommodate me in the future. Their reason: we want to keep local people in the office and only allow out of state and long distance to work from home. Then some bs about how they are implementing new software and it's a mess. Now I have worked from home before and done so in low level IT capacity. I am the perfect person to have work from home with this. I am also a direct hire to the company and they allowed a temporary agency employee to go to work from home.

And their cost is: Letting me access their website. I'd be using my own computer, etc. So really, they don't have anything to deny me on.

@Derp I have been through this process before. This company, however, does not have an actual, dedicated HR person. There are so many forms and things lacking that they should have, it's a little ...well, the only word that keeps coming to mind is gross.

Someone in my exact same position also has applied to work from home - though her reasoning is that she's moving across the country. Mine is that the job place is not ADA compliant (if you're in a wheelchair, get fucked. I can't imagine the stairs there on crutches, either.), and there's a lot of ways I sit, things I do, drugs I can take, that I can handle at home, but not at work. (Heating pad, different lumbar pillows, low level pain killers). I do not need to be present in the office, as a core part of my job. I answer the phone, and take information/give info. They have about 2 dozen people in my same job description, that work from home.
