@thenomain I believe he touched upon some of the formula people had proposed to use in his book about the Time Dilation effect between our part of the Universe and the Center of the Universe.

@quinn In my State if you go to a private institution of health they always charge you a copay/full cost if not insured. But if you go to a county health department (which often includes waiting 1-3hrs with an appointment) you get them for free.

RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@ganymede Except in most States the county health departments usually give free vaccinations to children, especially right before school starts. I got all my boosters free as well when I was an adult, so there really isn't a money problem involved

@skew said in Mage for Multi-Sphere WoDv2 Games:
@derp said in Mage for Multi-Sphere WoDv2 Games:
You just need a better class of staffers
Emphasis mine. I think on the one hand, this is laughable. On the other, it really is the truth of it. Mage is exhausting. You need a group that's very committed to keeping the story going, so, just like Derp said, you can hit that sweet spot. Just, finding that group of active, motivated, creative staffers? Well...
When @Coin @tragedyjones and I were working on a new CofD 2E game, I did put together some house rules.
- Paradox: As @Auspice says, paradox really lacks teeth in a game where there's so much downtime. We came up with a new system where each time you contain paradox, it doesn't go away, but stays in your pattern. Each time you would roll paradox dice, they get added to your personal counter, and you roll dice for each counter you have. This continues to build up until it's released.
- Arcana caps. Like we did in FW, I think a hard limit on Arcana by Gnosis is a great idea.
- Spirits and ghosts need to withstand with resistance stat, not rank. Rank is just way too easy, and a baby mage can toss around massive spirits with ease.
- Magic items... need to be deal with in some way that we never finished dealing with. They can be a serious pita.
Point 2. I am not sure for 2e but 1e had Arcana caps based on Gnosis. You could only go this high for your Ruling, this high for your inferior and this high for teritary arcana based on what your Gnosis was at.

RE: What's your favorite MU* client?
Been using mushclient for almost 20 years now and its got pretty much everything. Colors, spawns, clickable https links, force create links if it didn't populate correctly. I think the spawn nestings are garbage (they just come up as notepad windows inside the client and you use ctrl+1 if it is world one or ctrl+2 etc to cycle thru main window and spawn windows), it has a simplistic scripting language that made learning macro coding fairly easy and there is a MUD named CLOK that I was able to fully automate two different professions using triggers/macros, and a single macro would switch my character between the two professions (and yes this is legal in that game, but you can't be afk so if an admin gets ahold of you and you dont respond within a few minutes you getsa temp ban)

RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@too-old-for-this flu vaccine is the only one I dont give a shit about. It mutates far too quickly and I still ended up catching a flu two years in a row getting those stupid shots so I quit getting them.

RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@too-old-for-this I got all my boosters at 20, so now at 27 guess I need to rebooster at 28-30?
-
RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@arkandel I guess what I am trying to find more the answer to is, if I am vaxxed and boostered up do I have to give a shit about catching MMR?
-
RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@arkandel I thought the whole point of vaccination was to make you immune to the disease and stop it spreading. So either A) lotta people never got vaccinated/followed up with boosters or B) measels is evolving to combat the vaccinations

RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@too-old-for-this If 99 kids are vaccinated and 1 is not, doesnt only that 1 kid get sick?
-
RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@tyche that doesnt look very hollow
-
RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@ganymede I kinda forgot that angle of the conversation, mostly in that I love magic but very firmly realize it's not in the same reality as me.
-
RE: I know it's an old topic but to this day....
@derp Politics and base reality are two very seperate things, but no I haven't. Is there flafers there? (flat earthers)
-
I know it's an old topic but to this day....
There are still hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of people on this planet that have refuted society and science and believe in a flat earth. I recently had to remove a family member from my facebook because when given experiments that was done right in front of them to explain various aspects of the 'conspiracies of nasa' refused to see the evidence before them and then instead told me I am simply believing the results into existence because I want the results to come out that way. Holy goodness incarnate, how can someone try and show me "scientific evidence" via videos and second hand knowledge when when I show them actual scientific evidence before their very own eyes that's just "magic" that I have conjured into existence. Please tell me that this hobby protects people from the stupidity of "magic"

RE: criticism not allowed in ad threads is only enforcing a false positive, prove me wrong
@paris I really really loved some of the people on F&L, even though I was unknown to the community several people took their time and effort to help me learn Changing Breed and get me included in scenes and plotlines. Some of my favorite cross vampire play ever over the years took place there.
-
RE: What's your favorite MU* client?
How dare you nost list MUSHclient. The game is literally in the title XD
-
RE: criticism not allowed in ad threads is only enforcing a false positive, prove me wrong
@paris Reopen F&L! makes angry snek faces.

RE: criticism not allowed in ad threads is only enforcing a false positive, prove me wrong
@arkandel Just so long as changes like this are also documented in Announcements and not just left to being a reply on a thread someone might never find.
