I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the content, what is, or where can I find info about 'Lawless Space'?

I couldn't even figure out what was going on with that thread, like 18k views and shit tons of replies. Didn't even feel like digging through it to try and figure out wtf that game was.
Cool story.
That's not even anything that adds to the discussion, and is entirely unneeded?

and even of non-commercial games like the 100 MUSH... judging by these forums. (YMMV.)

Just me
Hello there, I just wanted to introduce myself to the MSB community. I've been around the MU*ing scene for 14 years now, though never having integrated myself in the deeper community surrounding them until just recently (since I made this account I guess). So far what I've been doing here is going and checking out newer games. I had a brief stint at Staffing on a game then got kicked off over a minor disagreement with one HS (for admittedly being a bit too harsh on a player that had an IC position that they couldn't really fulfill OOCly) Though I didn't really have time to apologize to said player before I was removed so, yeah that was a thing. Anyways, I'm just kinda gonna stick around here and look at new games and do little 'first impressions' things. Hi!

RE: Dragon Age: Dread Wolf's Rise
I can't even connect to this game via it's IP address on the wiki it has up, so I have no idea what this game is.
Edit: one of the few games where if you don't use the IP in the "world name" box it won't let you connect, so it's known as 216.136.9.8 in my MUSHclient as well, but I connected!
Edit #2: Looks like a custom coded MOO, can't find any references to a ruleset or system so looks like a custom job. No one online at 5am my time to talk with. If anyone else in this thread has checked it out sorry if I missed it, I tend to phase out of reading these MSB responses when I notice there's a large section of them that has nothing to do with the content of the OP

RE: Announcements bug?
Same here. I got about two hours of sleep the night before, and I passed out this morning at about 1am, woke up at 2:30am and haven't been able to go back to sleep yet. Thanks for the help! I think it just needed an actual notification to kick it into gear. I haven't got any special skins or anything, just the most recent version of Chrome.

Oh, lovely...
Aye! Stinks a wee bit it does. I can't say anything definite about the game as I haven't found anyone to talk to on it yet but it raises a few red flags. I'd still love to see about getting an Only War thing going, might decide to GM one over roll20 at some point.

RE: Warhammer 40k?
An adult game that does not allow TS: "Sexual activities are not appropriate here, even in private. While it may occur, and most likely does, we would ask such things to be kept off screen. We won't snoop, but don't let us find out. Note that having hanky panky with the enemy will probably end up in execution no matter WHO you work for. "
The overall grammar feels like it is written by a highschooler, rule 10 is : "There is no rule ten."
They have a "Consent only" policy which means if you are uncomfortable at any point you can just disappear from the scene and have it retconned, but then attempt to say it is an ICA=ICC game (which we all know, if you have a full Consent policy is almost impossible to do ICA=ICC. At best you have to have a partial consent policy with the fiat of FTB any RP you don't want to do but still have to worry about the consequences.)

I happened to see a 40K game listed in the mushcode.com list (looks like they're very new and still putting everything together, which is totally fine):
riseofheroes.custom-gaming.net 1906Actually the more I'm poking around on this thing it doesn't look like some where I'd personally want to play, can't find what ruleset they're using, the rules make me laugh a little which is both interesting and off-putting and I'm not sure I like the way the CG seems to be handled as written in the 'primer'

riseofheroes.custom-gaming.net 1906went and looked around, I was thinking of using the Only War system, which would allow a more intimate MUSH setting, as your characters are just the grunts of the Imperium or what ever the army was called (been awhile since I've brushed up on my 40k) Sure maybe not as badass as playing a space marine but I had a couple tabletop games playing in the Only War system and theme and it was actually hella fun.

RE: Announcements bug?
Well it does now because of what you just did, and you doing that made it fix itself! It's no longer showing the big red 4 anymore.
-
RE: Announcements bug?
I'm sorry, it's "Notifications" not announcements
-
RE: Announcements bug?
But there is no post associated with it? When I click it it says there is no unread announcements. When I click 'mark all as read' it makes it go normal for about 2 seconds and then it returns with the red '4' over it, and again it says no unread announcements... So I have no idea what thread is 'causing the announcements'

RE: Announcements bug?
No I don't have the site bookmarked in Chrome, it's that little announcement bell between the search spyglass and the chats buttons in the top right of the website's UI
-
Announcements bug?
I've got a weird bug here on the site, where it shows me that I have 4 "unread announcements" on the icon, but when I click it it says I have no unread announcements, and when I mark all as read, it goes away for about 2 seconds then the icon flashes with a new red 4

RE: TrekMUSH & Guardians of the Galaxy MUD
Iron Realms, they make free to play semi p2w MU*s (one of which is getting closed down or has been already because it didn't draw enough players).
Anyways, I am unsure about GotG, it is an interesting area and I'd for sure check out a MUSH version using some sort of tabletop system (I hate "MUDs" god damn grindy boring mf'ers that tend to have people that can RP about as well as a man with two broken arms can wipe his own rear.). Star trek would potentially have some staying power I think, but you'd have to be willing to settle in for the long haul and be willing to do regular ST'ed events as Staff otherwise I wouldn't imagine people sticking around for long.
-
RE: Warhammer 40k?
Again I would have no idea how to actually start up a game, nor code it, but once it was up and running I'd be willing to handle the day-to-day management of it
-
RE: Warhammer 40k?
I could "manage" the game, I just don't know how to code nor have the funds to host the wiki/game itself

Warhammer 40k?
Sorry if this isn't the correct board to put this on, but is there any Warhammer 40k MUs out there? Personally I love the Only War tabletop system the most as it focuses on the ground grunts more than the spesh marines and think it would work well on a MU setting since it's more about day-to-day living in the military (similar to Battlestar Pacificia if anyone remembers that Mu*) If there isn't any warhammer games out there would there be enough interest in one in the community for someone to develop one?
