@coin I mean it is a Mage game, Spying and magical scrying is pretty standard in a Mage kit for a variety of reasons. If all it is showing is IC stuff then that's perfectly acceptable use for the function of the spell

RE: Television reviews?
thanks, I tried finding a "dumb" version of the TV I am looking at but doesn't look like they have one. It's got a bunch of positive reviews and I've been looking at various tech sites and seems like it'll be good enough. Thanks again!

Television reviews?
I'm looking for a website that has breakdowns of televisions and other electronics sort of like IGN or Metacritic does for games or rotten tomatoes for movies. If anyone could bump me a few suggestions that'd be great.

RE: Encouraging Proactive Players
@seraphim73 Anytime I see Staff give public praise and throw resources at an ST that encourages me to do the same and to help draw more players into their plots as I can.

RE: Charging for MU* Code?
@thenomain This seems like a fair (and far cheaper than would actually normally find for a programmer) list of prices. Just as long as both parties can come to an agreement on final price before services are rendered and as long as you as the Coder, when you see it might take more than what you previously agreed to, let them know before you just forge on ahead expecting them to pay the final no matter what, I think it's a great idea.

I would love to see the First Force Wars or the Mandalorian Conflict

RE: Vampire Requiem 2nd Edition Bloodlines Question
So coming from a person that has never played any incarnation of vampire but only read through nWoD 1e Requiem, I can tell you what I really like about bloodlines.
It allows you to add a little extra flavor, a little extra kick to set you apart from vampires of the same clan. To me vampires are sort of like Prometheans right, they live an extremely long time, they don't really socialize with anyone but other vampires (aside from eating things) and they're prone to not really changing as a person, which can make vampires a bit historically 2 dimensional characters driven by the facets of their clan and Sire.
So bloodlines allow you to add another dimension to a character, be it a sickness like Malkovians, that mark them so differently from their base clan, to an extreme burden to all of Kindred society (some of the Mekhet bloodlines come to mind here). It adds more flavor, adds more variety in mechanics and combinations.
Now again this is all from reading 1e nWoD, I have no idea how bloodlines are proposed to function in 2e, because some of what I've read in this thread suggests they work differently than they do in 1e, but that's my two cents on why I would want bloodlines.

RE: Across Time and Space MUX - Dr. Who
The only thing I don't see here is a way to connect to the game.

RE: Fear and Loathing (Official Thread)
@deadculture @Lithium Can we wait until the game is fully closed before doing so so folks have a chance to see that it is closing and if they want to hop on real quick and grab info for their characters or try and hook up with folks they can do so?

RE: Fear and Loathing (Official Thread)
This game is closing, we have 1 week to get in touch with people, get information off the wiki and +sheet system what not. It's been fun ya'll!

RE: Pitch me your WoD
@misadventure The only thing that sucks with that idea is Geist player would only ever RP never really get a choice on what will be done, but could be the IC Angel/devil on their shoulder giving them options lol
@Insomnia I play at Fallcoast on Mage and just started a Sin-eater I plan to ST with. I also play on Fear and Loathing www.fandlmux.com
They have Vamp, m/m+, changeling, werewolf, immortals and changing breeds, 1E but has a few 2E rules in to combat -
RE: A directory of MU*'s that's actually good
@griatch So then shouldn't we rename this thread or something? I keep coming here hoping someone is going to actually publish a directory or list some game ideas.

How did a question about finding games turn into codespeak? Games guys, games!

RE: The limits of IC/OOC responsibility
@faraday At least where it comes to WoD there are many aspects and themes within the game itself that are confrontational, GotV in Mage, having PCs be the various tiers of leadership in Vampire, more than 1 pack on the grid in WW. I like what I term 'cooperative confrontation' which is a mix of ooc/ic consideration for conflict resolution and if I pkay a PC in one of these.positions I make my Pc one that has consideration. I play gotv? My pc is going to be the nice probation officer that comes and tries to tell you hey dude dont be doing that and tries to develope a sort of probationer/probationee rp relarionship where we cooperate to not conflict, or if you do like conflict! we can do the 'do you hoodwink me today?' Stuff. If you gotta die my pc calls in the heavy hitters and walks away. Same with any other conflicty role I woukd choose to play.
But that's just me and liking 'light friction/conflict' play over sunshines and unicorns 100% of the time

RE: The limits of IC/OOC responsibility
@thenomain Aye I have only seen a few games where the 'results of violation' or the policies from staff as to what happens to you when said rule is broken is spelled out and they should be in every game but I think some HS dislike doing it for a multitude of reasons that I will leave unnamed

RE: The Death Of Telnet: Is It Time To Face The Music?
Just to throw in my cents on the client thing: I have used MUSHclient since 2001, I have tried GMUD, Potato, zMUD, web based clients for specific games, and I just cannot seem to get used to all the shinies of everything but MUSH and really I do nothing fancy which is part of the reason I Like MUSHclient, I dont have to know anything about the bells and whistles to just connect to a game. I gave up on both zMUD and Potato bc I had to go look up on Google how the f*** you even open a game world.
Edit: maybe it was 2004? I dont remeber when it came out exactly but early 2000s

RE: The limits of IC/OOC responsibility
@thenomain You are 100% correct, what ICA=ICC boils down to is this.
You took an action as a character into the agrred upon In Character world of this game. Thus you must accept that by submitting your choice into the In Character world an In Character response will happen to your Character.
To me it is an agreement that if you TALK about doing something in the OOC area of the game, you cannot be legally hassled in the IC area of the game for something your character has not expressed as an IC part of the game. This also means reversely that if you take IC actions you are not punished in an OOC way (such as being banned or getting xp removed or stats removed from your +sheet) character death is one of those things that borders on affecting a player's OOC of the game but it is also still just a CHARACTER and just because your pc has died does not mean you are in anyway limitied in participating from the game except in so far as creating a carbon copy character.
Now obviously there is some grey area here but every game I have ever played on has a policy system that details to you as a player what is acceptable OOC behaviour, and what IC actions are forbidden for what ever reasons.
