In more seriousness, @Z-01, I did not think that. I generally try to assume the best of others unless proven otherwise that I shouldn't. And yeah, player management is hard and a skill only few have bothered to learn. I've known a few people that are awesome at it, but it is rare.

I think if this is the way it is going to be presented, and going to keep being presented especially as more and more people step in, that there was some knee-jerk attack around a harmless misunderstanding that was, honestly, hurtful to me, then I am going to have to be honest that I am never going to be happy with the situation. I don't want people to feel like I am moving goal posts on them, and I can understand that can be frustrating, so it is better that I leave.

I am willing to admit that I was wrong in some regards to the way I left Arx. I am also grateful to see this from staff. I think it's a good step towards creating the type of environment that anyone wants in a creative space.
I don't know if I am one of the people that @Cupcake would want back or not, but I think not coming back is all my own fault at this point, having burned bridges in leaving.
Edit to add: yeah, I realize this isn't constructive to the thread. I was just kind of musing and also thumbs-uping to seeing a problem player asked to leave.

I end up in this same situation a lot, as well. I tend to care a lot about people, and just generally want people to be happy and healthy and safe as can be. I get invested. Etc etc.
That said, I don't think any approach is wrong. But I too also have a hard time wrapping my mind, emotionally, around the idea that you just-- wouldn't care about this person you spend hours and hours with.
That's valid. I certainly don't expect anyone on any game I play with to-- idk, give me five bucks if I am broke. I don't expect that they have to even keep playing with me. Or listen to me whine, etc etc.
I definitely would for them, though. Not that we can't disappear from each other's lives in an instance, but while I'm in it, I do care.
And then there are the friends that I have made that go waaaaay beyond being brought together by a hobby. That like, I couldn't kick out of my life if I even wanted to, but we did start by being on a MU* together. I can count on them for literally anything. So, I probably have a skewed view.

Free to play, great game mechanics. You don't even need to be that good at FPS even though it is an FPS game.

I kind of call bullshit on OP's talk of not wanting to name-and-shame. Or at least, OP, you didn't post in line with that philosophy.
