Ideally, I'd like to have both. I absolutely dislike RPing in a desc where I can't tell what is physically there at most times. I would rather that, to be honest, than eschew it just for hooks and other things. Hooks and mysteries and atmosphere is a definite bonus, and will make me more likely to RP in a room that already has a good foundation desc.

@Ghost I don't think you were trying to make a jab at her, by asking about what kind of tequila the woman was given. I do think you were making light of something that affects a lot of people on this forum, in a way that lightens it, when it doesn't directly affect you. So, yeah, that is offensive and hurtful, to me. Hence why I posted.

I added this only because of this post following, not because I am looking to dogpile. It sounds as if you don't know if it was offensive. It was.

And the 'being honest' about your character construction was also what I was getting at, but @Ganymede said it better. If your character is a social brickhouse of awesome, then you should have to be honest about how you are building that, have your sheet reflect it, /if/ you are doing a sheeted system. If you aren't doing a sheeted system, or doing a game that is entirely PvE, then it doesn't matter nearly as much.

Sometimes, also, staff think that their tools are more accessible and usable than they actually are. That is why having staff will always be important, and a well-organized staff with their fingers on the pulse of their game, so to speak.

No offense, but what I remember from what little I was on your game, @Nein, there was very little organization which made tools unusable.

@caryatid I have and will miss you! You're a good writer. A good player. A good leader. Enough to produce jealousy in others! To inspire people to want to play with you. But you're also generous and kind. You are good for any community you choose to be part of, and will be going forward.

But I understand, too. There was a long period of time where I could not find what I wanted in a Mu*. I certainly struggle more to find it now, too. Honestly, what you've written here makes me think.

Getting my house cleaned by others. Paid to have people come in and clean it today and it's basically made my day, week, month. Need to have this happen more because it definitely improves my happiness levels.
