Would be nice if Lexi finally just asked Drack out or something.

It would have been nice if they closed any storyline, really. It's hard to tell how much was laziness, how much was being rushed, and how much was being saved for the sequel. I mean, you have one mysterious disappeared race and you have another race with similar ideals but opposite in application. How can you miss the opportunity to mess with the player's mind about this?

      Ffffft.

Eh, there's already speculation that the Protheans and the Remnant are somehow related to each other. Or at the very least, were aware of each other.

I don't buy any of it at all, but, at least people are talking?

Boy, am I apprehensive about this. Considering how the author absolutely hates the games. Never mind it was the games that made people want to read the books. Or incredibly salty for the fact that he sold the game rights to CPR for peanuts without asking for royalties, who then went on to make obscene amounts of money with it.

The author of Metro 2033, Dmitry Glukhovsky has stated two facts about it. One, being that he's more than happy his books were made into games, because it allowed people who had never heard of the books to read them. And has gone on record to refer to Sapkowski as 'an arrogant motherfucker'.

@Ganymede It's only because both of their last names are Harper. That's really it. I doubt it's real too, but you yourself just said the writing at points were...questionable. I wouldn't put it past the writers to throw that in because it's such a 'great idea'.

Suppose she could've gotten her way bought in if she's really the Illusive Man's daughter. But that's a stretch at best. And that's saying that rumor is even true.

@Ganymede I could've bought it happening if it took place during the original trilogy, but it was specifically stated that she joined during a time were bioics weren't really understood. So, that's likely a handful of years past the First Contact War. And that's the sticking point with me. Why, would the Asari, suddenly out of the graciousness of their hearts, take in a human, a member of a race that's still more or less an unknown at that point.

It just goes to show how easily swayed and driven today's people can be, out of ignorance.

I blame the major media outlets. Everything has to be a 2-way horse race because it’s easy to understand and it sells. Four different viewpoints? That’s too complicated. Viewpoints that are shades of grey? Whoa no; that requires too much thinking. Let’s reduce everything to two simple sides so we can have a brawl on TV and #ratings! ...Yup, that’s a sure way to send the level of discourse to the dumpster.

This conversation has definitely already happened on one of the stations:

Anchor: Should Comey have stayed in office?
      Senator: Well, no. He was—
Anchor: Ah, so you’re happy he was fired?
Senator: Well he certainly shouldn’t have remained director of the FBI after—
Anchor: In other words you agree with Trump?
      Senator: Absolutely not! He—
Anchor: But wait! If you’re glad Comey was fired, how can you not be on the same page as the president? Why are you being a hypocrite?
      Senator: Listen here, it’s more—
Anchor: Sorry! That’s all the time we have!

We have got to somehow break the link between profit and sensationalism/misinformation and/or really invest in educating consumers to be savvier media consumers, but we’re doing neither.

One of the biggest failings of the modern era is that we didn’t use the rapid increases in knowledge and technology to try to mitigate the negative sides of human nature, instead we just put them all on steroids.

    • RE: Difficulty of single-player computer games

Because I'm an achievement whore, I'll play through on normal. Then, if I'm lucky, it'll have a New Game+, where I'll be roaming around for all the other achievements I missed on my initial playthrough, while racking up the difficulty since I now have all the abilities to make the various ones easier(for example, still working on the one from Witcher 3 where you have to inflict bleeding, poison, and burning at the same time on ten enemies).

There are some game where I avoid playing on harder difficulty. Axion Verge for example, because that game can be pretty punishing for the Metroidvania genre.

Other games, like Banner Saga, because it's a tactics and RTS game I'll intentionally play on easy simply because I'm not really all that good at that those games, but the storyline makes it worth playing.

Come on, people. If it had been true, think about it: Bioware could have created the first James T. Kirk: Space Exploration and Space Venereal Disease simulator. And that would have been one hell of a hilariously awesome way to go.

      We'll bang, okay?

Went back and played through Witcher 3 after not touching it for more than a year. Gave me a chance to play through Blood and Wine which left me extremely satisfied in terms of how DLCs should be. Dare I say it's more an expansion given the size and scope than a DLC itself.

If there was ever anything bad I could say about that game, it's the fact that it ends, and now leaving me with placing that game as the gold standard by which everything else should be judged.

There's just nothing to play right now for me. At least not until Prey comes out. Though I have been picking at a couple of indie Metroidvania type games that seem interesting. Axion Verge for instance.
