      @surreality @Ganymede

      IIRC it's quite rare for ODD to persist into adulthood, though I'm sure extreme contrariness probably remains in those who had it.

      My DSM is at the office tho.

      ETA: @Auspice do you like rhythm games? They're very, very engrossing to my OCD brain, and each round is super short. That might be something you could do with friends.

      No kids here.

      I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a child. I saw some teenagers at the library yesterday...?

      I very much cherish the almost total confidentiality that I'm required to uphold. The few exceptions in which I may report (and the even fewer in which I must) are so absurd that they've never come close to happening. I'm sure they will soon, though. 😛

      Update: AAAAAAAAAAA FS3 SKILL LISTS

      I may see if, once I'm done de-BSGing FS3, there's some way to upload a 'modern' FS3 theme like there are web portal graphical themes.

      I know the other was important, but.

      FWIW a bunch of my clients lost at trial (and face significant challenges in post-conviction) because of the testimony of mandated reporters. So it often does help children who need it.

      @Derp DO YOU KNOW HOW ANTSY I GET WHEN I SEE A DELETED REPLY TO SOMETHING I'VE WRITTEN

      OUT WITH IT

      ETA I was trying to say that there's no way someone could make an accurate legal analysis based on what was just in this thread, not that anyone had done anything wrong. I also don't do IP law.

      Can I just be that person and say ask permission before you take a thing and do something with it if it isn't yours. There's quite a few folks here that would be able to chime in with their legal background too.

      Legally, whether something is free use or not relies on a whole host of factors that aren't readily apparent from the initial post. If that map was released under a full creative commons license, he can do whatever the hell he likes with it. If it's copyrighted, then technically speaking it probably shouldn't even be up on the board (not that it matters; that sort of copyright violation happens all the time).

      Repeat after me: purple prose is bad.

      An irresistible urge to engage in the contumacious denial of the brevity so highly esteemed in these literary latter days and to revel in sesquipedalian verbiage akin to what a perspicacious member of the literati might find while perusing catalogues of authors past frequently engenders a sense of frustration and, dare I say, ire in the modern reader.

      Well, I already gave DigitalOcean my money, so I'm stuck for now!

      But Storium seems interesting!

      One warning I'd have really is that if you're going to sandbox is that if you want to make sure everyone is on the same page about what that means. Like, are you telling a story together with an overarching plot, are you interacting in a shared universe, are you just using the shared space to do whatever -- all of these are fine, but it's good for everyone to be on the same page about it because otherwise you can end up with weird drama and there's no staff to intervene because... it's a sandbox between friendos.

      Thanks. This is sound advice.

      nor the "toss out a pose when you can" nature of play-by-forum.

      Hmm. Couldn't this be alleviated by using Ares?

      @saosmash

      That's actually what I'm setting up--I was wondering if anyone had experience with doing that sort of small sandbox.

      @Rinel Yes. You tell them to connect to play.arxmush.org via port 3000.

      They're afraid of Arx.

      I'm assuming the answer is "yes, you idiot," but I'm not certain. I'm trying something along these lines, because a lot of my friends want to RP but don't really know what platform to use. Any advice on what to do and what to avoid doing?

      Watching position one wisp steamroll the international made me so very, very happy. He's always been my favorite support, and I blew quite a bit of money on the battle pass ages ago in order to get his arcana.

      For non dota players, this is his arcana:

      @Alamias

      I watched the series first, then started the books. I think the series made a good choice by combining viewpoints chronologically in ways that aren't represented in the novels; it's a lot easier to follow the story that way in the television medium.

      EDIT: Chrisjen is so amazing that even with her introduction being way less than stellar, she's still my favorite character.

      So I'm sure part of it is that I generally know what's coming, but man--I enjoyed The Expanse as a TV series way more than I am enjoying it as a book one. I guess I need to get ahead of the TV show to accurately assess how I feel.

      If it were insulin I wouldn't worry so much! But this is an oil based liquid, so if I bloodstream it there's a pretty significant risk of thrombus formation.

      And yeah I know to aspirate the needle but aaaaaa
