@lemon-fox No idea! I don't use MUSHClient. You'd be looking for an option to highlight things based on a regex, which I'm very un-expert with. And I know there are different types of regexes? Or something? Like the Atlantis ones won't work in Potato? They have different engines or -- something. Someone told me the answer to this once.

Based on this page I found googling, you can indeed do regex highlights on MUSHClient, so you'd have to explore and figure it out.

Also I changed the color of text in between quotes.

That's a huge one for me! This works for a regex highlight on Atlantis:

      (["])(?:(?=(\\?))\2.)*?\1

And if it's a game that supports Unicode where people might accidentally smart quotes, I also add this one:

      “(\s*?.*?)*?”

If it's a game with tabletalk/whisper, I have a highlight to try and catch the starts of those poses. For Arx, mine looks like this:

(^At the [\w\s']*,|^Discreetly,|^You posed to [\w]*:|^\(Also sent to [\w]*.\) Discreetly,)

@ashen-shugar that chair also comes in WHITE?
WHAT KIND OF MANIAC BUYS A WHITE OFFICE CHAIR

That office in Manhattan that just remodeled to be "modern".

      It's probably full of lawyers.

      Nah, advertising executives.

Can confirm, have seen white office chairs in Manhattan and they were in an advertising agency.

The fact you have to register to do something that is your full right has me so entirely baffled. Why is it like that? (Honest question, no sarcasm here.)

It makes it easier to disenfranchise voters.

I got to pick out a new (reasonably priced) chair once for an old job and I found this one from Staples. I loved it so much that I bought the same chair for home use when I moved! I definitely think it's a good balance of economy and comfort. I like the mesh rather than more padded/plush chairs because it's nice when it's a bit warmer and such. I find it very comfy while also being very supportive. I was able to give away the lumbar pillow I'd had at my office before because it's got good lumbar support. And if you hate headrests (which some people do), you don't have to put it on.

    • RE: How to: make your poses less repetitive

@twinprince I mean, no one expressed that they never want to read a desc. Someone said that they didn't want to have to go through all the descs in the room to figure out who an untagged pose belonged to. You can have read everyone's desc before and still not want to do that.

Anyways, my issues with epithets isn't cultural, it's more generally about writing.

@twinprince I'm generally not a fan of epithets in most situation, and this is a good article about good uses and bad uses that I generally agree with. In RP I tend to often find they muddle scenes unless you're literally in a 1:1 because it's really easy to lose who's talking. (Unless you're in a 1:1 or it's literally a situation or a game style where your PC's identity is obscured or whatever, your name should ALWAYS be in your pose.)

This should maybe go into the Game Development forum instead? Even if there's not necessarily a game in the works.

Facebook has TV now? I don't understand. There is a thing called Facebook Watch.

The weirdest part is that Sorry For Your Loss is, like. So good? Wtf.

She may not count as a celebrity for most people, but I'm heartbroken over Broadway star Marin Mazzie losing her fight against ovarian cancer at only 57. Theatre fans will know her from the original casts of Ragime, Passion, the last Kiss Me Kate revival, and a ton of other stuff. Her talent was breathtaking.

If you're talking about listing an index of messages, I'd say newest on the bottom. If you're displaying the contents of multiple messages, I'd say newest at the top.

      BOTTOM.

I don't actually care which but bottom makes more sense to me because the screen scrolls with down automatically.

Hm, this is actually a good point. I think I was instinctively thinking from a web perspective where you hit the info at the top first. But on a MU*, bottom might make more sense.
