I love that Jennkryst got banned for speaking factual things.

This place has become the model for a GOP-run America. No dissension. If you do have an alternative point of view of what Mother or Father think, you should keep it in private, because if other people were to dare to see it, they might become corrupted.

I don't even know what to say anymore. Ya'll took what was a Good Thing (moving the forum into another site and making it work), then poured gasoline all over yourselves and self-immolated.

Whatever, maybe all the bans can be reversed once we earn enough XP on that one game to buy our MSB posting privs back, or maybe there are some people here who aren't just burning bridges, they are nuking them from orbit.

@buttercup Okay first of all, using 'lynch mob' to describe any part of this is utterly offensive and absurd.

Second. There was no stalking. There was no harassment. What happened was people calling out authoritarian behavior by the admin. The behavior of those in charge is what is alarming, not the people calling it out. Or let me guess, do you think the BLM protests were "violent riots" GTFO of here..

@rucket I got there ten minutes after breakfast ended and I got their frostaccino thing and no food. Absolutely sugar bombed myself, had NO potato wedges, and made myself queasy.

Ooof, yeah I don't think I could ever do just a shake or frosty by itself, I definitely need something to go with it. So I definitely feel your pain 😞

@rucket omg I also made a poor Wendy's decision just today.

Is it as poor as a vanilla frosty?

ALSO YOU KNOW WHAT ANGERS ME WENDY'S?

Your breakfast potato wedge things are goddamn DELICIOUS and your normal fries are ASS. WHY CAN I NOT GET THE POTATO WEDGES ALL DAY

This isn't hobby related but I feel like kind of a monster because of it. I wanted a sweet delicious treat and decided to try the vanilla frosty from Wendy's instead of the normal, righteous frosty. People should pray for me for making such a decision.

As for the worst thing I've done in this hobby? Trusting someone I shouldn't have.

    • RE: Is Min/Max a bad thing?

The goodness or badness of min/maxing depends on the group.

If you have a group of four and three people are making RP-based characters and those RP choices aren't exactly mechanically 'optimal', then the fourth person min/maxing the shit out of their character is a bad thing.

If you have a group of people min/maxing to have a fun, challenging campaign... then that's perfectly fine IMO.

      No Jedi.

Actually, the secret to Star Wars MUs is to say 'you can earn a force user character, impress us' and then watch as everyone trips over themselves to get one of the limited space-wiznerd slots. And of course, only give them out to the people whomst are lewd instead.

Because as we all know, the most important attribute for a Force-user, next to a high midi-chlorian count, is a high lewd count.

      Lewdichlorian count.

A Victorian-era Chronicles of Darkness game set in London.

Multiple spheres for multiple avenues of fun. Especially since Hunter 2E, Mummy 2E and Deviant all look kinda interesting as well.

Supposedly a remaster is being worked on. It was in a leak with Chrono Cross remastered and that's coming out in like a week.

@arkandel I know there's stuff people want to keep but man at some point I can't help but feel like it might be easier to archive certain important posts/threads in some fashion and then start a fresh forum. I know a lot will be lost but it sounds like any sort of migration is going to be either costly or damn near impossible and i fear we may hit a point where, as you mentioned, restoring functionality won't be available and we'll lose everything anyway. 😞

It's quite possible authors like George Martin - or Robert Jordan - told a pretty good story. I wish those who adopt them actually showed more respect for it rather than try to 'fix it'.

I agree with almost everything that you said, but I think that it's absolutely possible to fix what's actually wrong with a book series (misogyny, for one) without "fixing" what isn't wrong (giving Perrin a wife and then fridging her for one).

100%. I really really REALLY wish they had gone with Sanderson's suggestion of killing off Master Luhan in Episode 1. Would I have loved to see Master Luhan eat it? No, but I'd understand it and be okay with it. Having Perrin be married and then axe-murdering his wife just felt at odds with a lot of the other stuff they were trying to do.

Is this what sports fans feel like watching their teams play when they just don't perform like they could?

Even if you the seasons are terrible I am still going to watch them. I'm invested in the material and want to support it. I'll just be angry about it.

Really really hoping season 2 gets more money/time so maybe some of the issues can be fixed but I've a feeling it will just dig in more.

Well, I'm not angry about it, I'm mostly just confused about some decisions, especially with rewriting metaphysics. Like there's no way people should have been burned out while in a circle. As I said in my Ep8 response post, I can get why some shit happened like it did. From my reading 7 & 8 were made post-COVID break and they had a lot of issues getting certain people back on set (and this isn't even just Mat's actor). So I'm more than willing to forgive all that because my aunt works in Hollywood and she told me how much COVID sucked for production and editing teams.

I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2 and hoping that things can come together nad make more sense.

Why the hell did that Aes Sedai call Lews Therin 'the dragon reborn'? He's not, he's The Dragon.

No, he's the Dragon Reborn. Always has been. Part of the opening of the Eye of the World is Ishamael reminding him that they've already done this a million times and will do it a million times more, and Ish is already tired of having that conversation. It's a big cycle, just goes on and on and on.

A lot of that was theorizing by Ishamael, and even if it is true the people of his age gave him the 3rd name of "Telamon" which means "The Dragon" They didn't give him "Telamonsyndai" which is "The Dragon Reborn".

Also an excerpt from the books:

"And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was as blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World.

      And him they named Dragon."

    • RE: The Wheel of Time

Well, I am kind of sitting here having to process exactly how I feel about this finale.

Like on one hand, I really get some of these changes and have to look at the fact that Mat's actor not showing up for filming for Ep 7 and Ep 8 likely caused a great deal of problems storywise and rewrites had to happen.

On the other hand though, I'm not exactly sure why some of the decisions were made?

      Anyway two lists --

      ***Stuff I like/Stuff I get***

      click to show

      • Ishamael. So dude clearly set a trap at the Eye of the World, I think many people called this, and it's very fitting to the character. The actor playing him did pretty good I think, at least I liked the overall vibe I was getting from him.
      • The Horn of Valere being in Fal Dara. I mean, yeah not having it at the Eye makes sense to me. The overall plot of it being 'found' and then 'stolen' are here, and now we have a new reason to go after Fain for the dagger (Loial being stabbed, and I assume this was a stand-in because of a lack of Mat).
      • Ishamael shielding Moiraine (or possibly stilling, but it wasn't as dramatic as Logain being gentled, so assuming that it's a tied off shield). Great way to fuck with an Aes Sedai and show how strong the Forsaken are vs. today's channelers. Also Moiraine's channeling abilities aren't as big of a deal plot-wise after Eye of the World... and gives Rand something to strive for to help her undo that shield.
      • Rand running off. I mean, dick move, but if he's off to Tear, then my assumptions that Books 2 and 3 are largely going to be merged in Season 2 makes sense.
      • I get killing off Agelmar. Not a very important character in the grand scheme and who knows what the actor's availability will be for the Last Battle, lol.
      • Min peacing the fuck out of Fal Dara, lol. That was hilarious.
      • Fain & the Fades showing up and taking over. Good times.
      • The Aes Sedai uniforms at the start. Lews Therin's looked dope. I also liked how Ishamael was dressed too. Very dapper evil gentleman.

      ***Stuff that boggles me***

      click to show

      • Ok, I get making the ladies burn out when faced with the amount of power that Egwene and Nynaeve can bring to bear, but why is it necessary to have Nynaeve burn out and then Egwene... heal her? Was Nynaeve dead? If so, that's some bullshit because Rand couldn't even bring someone back to life with fucking Callendor in his hands and not only is Rand more powerful, but Callendor is one of the most powerful sa'angreal in existence. If she isn't dead, did Egwene heal someone burned out from the source? I don't like that either. Healing shit is Nynaeve's realm, it's where she shines, giving something like that to Egwene kinda feels like it's taking away from Nynaeve.
      • The Rand dream. Man, that was Egwene's test to become Accepted in the White Tower and we turn it into a way for Ishamael to tease Rand? I feel like there's different stuff that could have been done. Fuck, having a sequence of flashes where Ishamael shows Rand human suffering through the ages while taunting "I win again, Lews Therin" could have been great.
      • Fucking why not have Ishamael and Lews Therin talking in the beginning? Give some context as to who Ishamael IS. He's the most interesting of the Forsaken, goddamn it.
      • Why the hell did that Aes Sedai call Lews Therin 'the dragon reborn'? He's not, he's The Dragon. Yes, the concept of the champion of the light is probably across many ages but Lews Therin is the man that was called 'Dragon'. Maybe a minor nitpick, but it took away from a scene that I thought was kind of cool, I just wish was different. A discussion of philosophy between Ishamael and Lews Therin could have really been great.
