Currently a 55 on Metacritic. Welp.

Paradox clearly cares about the direction of the IP, lol.

      ...Wait, shit, you're right.

Fucking Paradox. 'Maybe the second half of 2021?'

      Yeah... 'maybe'

The game seemed to run into some issues. I recall hearing they got rid of a chunk of the writing staff or something. I don't know, I went from being really excited for Bloodlines 2 in 2019 to barely giving a shit in 2021. 😕

Being forced to play the absolute most boring tribe as a white, bearded old man trying to FiNd HiS BrOtHeR would not have been my preference.

Please prove me wrong. I'd love that sphere to be taken more seriously.

This reminds me that Bloodlines 2 was supposed to be out like a year and a half ago and now you hear absolutely fuck all about that game and what's going on with it.

@cobaltasaurus I lack a lot of knowledge about Indian mythology and religious beliefs to really get a grasp on what plot possibilities might exist there, but something not-European could be pretty rad!

I asked @Pyrephox "Ok, what if fictional Second Ireland but steampunk lords and ladies."

And Pyrephix said, "Ok, but what if metaplot secret."

Interesting! Irish flavoring would definitely make it unique.

Is this thread about Gamestop stock?

If it is, I've been paying attention to that story all day. It's been fascinating.

It is, I also bought in with some disposable money because it helps me feel like I can tell "the man" to F off. XD Anyway, I won't pollute this thread with this, and I hope @Cobaltasaurus has a really interesting project in the works!

@ganymede If this is in relation to some of the problems that have been popping up lately, I hope someone can help <3. I've not used NodeBB myself but if issues persist maybe it's time to try to migrate to another forum software?

    • Did you like Bridgerton?

Because according to Polygon, this little RPG might be right up your alley:

    • RE: Good TV

Ugh, I guess I will post in this thread since I'm not sure there's another TV thread buuuuuuuut.

      The Stand.

Okay, I like a lot of the casting choices and think the actors are doing a good job BUT I utterly loathe how the story is being told. A big part of The Stand is the journey, and showing that in pieces in flashback form just doesn't feel great to me.

Though maybe it's just that I've read the book several times and have seen the 90s miniseries like 5 times.

I will also say the last episode did bring Kojak into the picture and he's the best character in the whole book. Good boys are always the best characters.

So I have gotten pretty much up to date on the Trails series. For those who are not aware, it's a pretty lengthy series of JRPGs that has 3 arcs with another game out that bridges this 3rd arc with a new 4th arc.

      Basically the arcs are:

Liberl: Trails in the Sky > Trails in the Sky SC > Trails in the Sky the 3rd
Crossbell: Trails from Zero > Trails to Azure
Erebonia: Trails from Cold Steel > Cold Steel 2 > Cold Steel 3 > Cold Steel 4

Anyway, the two Crossbell games are not out here in the US so I used translation patches to play them and oh man, do hope Falcom ports them over some day. Finished Zero much earlier than Azure to make room to play Cold Steel 4, but I did want to talk up their battle themes. I love good battle themes in RPGs:

      Zero: https://youtu.be/-azjB3lsUTU
      Azure: https://youtu.be/s358AQzHMCU

Aside from Persona 5 Royal's battle theme (https://youtu.be/rJ2KB5LVdqA), they're two of my favorite themes in recent memory.

@songtress said in A Regency MU (Conceptual):

maybe a world where the Roman Empire never 'fell' a bit. So everything has this Roman-esque vibe?

So when your family falls into scandal, you take to the Colosseum to fight some lions?

I dunno though, maybe it's just me but using the phrase "Regency" seems pretty specific. It'd be like if someone pitched an Anarchy MU, the Anarchy is a pretty specific period of time.

Oh, have we moved on from bitching about there being too many PNW games? Does that mean I can open another game set in Washington, State without someone concern trolling with a "constructive" conversation about "why are there so many games set in the PNW?".

Will there be a plot similar to that X-files episode where they go into the woods and discover those crazy ass bugs?

@aria Yeah that's fair enough. But having spent a goodly bit of time on the eastern coast, you just hear a LOT of stories about Philly Sportsball fan (from throwing batteries to booing Santa to braining a dude with a bottle of vodka while he was climbing a street light to dropping F bombs on local media because they're super hyped). There's not really anywhere else in America with that type of fan. Frankly, I find a lot of the antics utterly hilarious.

....Unless you're going to set a game in Philadelphia. Because then I expect you to do my city proud and set the Four Seasons next to a crematorium and a dildo store as Ben Franklin intended.

Plus plenty of opportunities for interesting NPCs for Philly MUSH: https://nypost.com/2018/02/05/eagles-fan-thinks-eating-horse-poop-is-cool/

Believe me, there is nothing horrible you can say about Philadelphia that Philadelphians haven't already said themselves.

I wasn't actually trying to say something horrible! Philly sports fans are so f'n crazy you can literally make some wild and crazy NPCs for any sort of modern day MUSH.

I've never understood why people are willing to blindly accept all kinds of supernatural ridiculousity in a setting, but then something like its setting is just untenable. A million people? In one city in Maine!? That's ridiculous!!!

But... it makes sense that supernatural monsters/creatures have been around since forever and only a teeny tiny sub-percentage of the population has ever been aware of them because the one thing people do really well consistently throughout the history of human existence is keep secrets well.. That part makes sense. Why would anyone question that.

Because there's only one city in the entire northeast US with over 500,000 people and that's Boston, lol. If you want a big ass city with supernatural elements, there's lots of other states that work just as well. And hell, plenty of supernatural shit you can do in the American South.
