The 1890s version makes me think of Arcanum. And I really, REALLY love that game. So I'd have to pick that option, even though I'm not totally against the first option. They both sound good, but giving me flashbacks to Arcanum make me like #2 more.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Sigh. Atlantis remains the only thing I would want to get a Mac for/use OSX for. Looking at pictures of it in action makes me pine for it, especially the spawn windows. I'm totes fucking jelly of it.

RE: Valorous Dominion
Hi!
I play Cosimo. House Gaspari is focusing on importing exotic trade goods and stuffs. I need to put that on the house wiki page. That being said, if anyone wants to be be a part of the house, there's still room for 2 siblings and a ton of cousins. I'm totally open to concepts and am fine with people playing against-type.
Could also use non-nobles too!
Anyway @Lithium you could be someone who married in. Or you could be someone who took into a mercenary company.

@lithium 71.171.93.80:1510 are you trying this? It's what worked for me.

RE: General Video Game Thread
@thenomain I liked Wasteland 2 well enough. I do need to go back and play more of it, but I generally liked the characters and character development.

This is why I pre-ordered Battletech and not whatever else Obsidian is coming out with next.
Point of clarification. Numera was made by Inexile, who also made Wasteland 2, not Obsidian. And Numera was enough to make me have serious pause about Wasteland 3.

Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire
What does it say that I absolutely loved Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment back in the day, but Pillars of Eternity, Numenera: Torment, and even Tyranny mainly bored me. Not Shadowrun tho, oh no, there's a series that got better through three entire games.
I'll catch it on a steam sale because I want to support Black Is--errrrr, Obsidian, but eh.
Wellllllll, I wasn't a big fan of Numenera: Torment, and overall I don't think the game was received as well as the the Wasteland game inExile did. I think it was going to be really difficult to make a spiritual successor to Planescape.
As for Tyranny. Yeah. It's not great. The game does some interesting things story-wise with the whole "serve the villain" thing, but it just falls flat in a lot of places.
Pillars. I really liked Pillars, so I would be curious to know why it bored you. I mean, I have a few complaints of my own, mostly regarding the class system and some of the encounter structure, but having dicked around in the Deadfire backer beta, some of that seems to have been addressed with the new systems. I say seems to, because I haven't played much to avoid spoiling myself on content, and the bit I did play was only a tiny slice of the overall game.

I don't really care about the community challenges. Besides, I already have the one cosmetic weapon I want... the assault rifle that's all gussied up like the American flag. Perfect for delivering freedom.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Yeah it's got a good chunk of content. Of course, I'm a dumb dumb and do everything I can in open world games, so it takes me longer to beat them.

RE: General Video Game Thread
oh shiiiittttt i haven't paid attention to this thread?
people are talking about Martyr?I've had it for a while, just downloaded it again last night to see some of the changes since i bought in last year. such a good game. Everything just FEELS so 40K, which is a huge plus.
Looking forward to launch, but I can wait. I want to finish Far Cry 5, get God of War, do Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire and then can think about fucking up some chaos scum for the Emperor.

RE: Choosing a MU Server
Real question, because I don't know. Is TinyMUX still actively supported?

It's not healthy. It's not good for me, it's not good for the community. It doesn't do anything positive in the end.
I like a good shit show. Sometimes seeing a new post in the hog pit makes me all like
But more often than not it doesn't live up to the hype.
MORE SERIOUSLY THOUGH: While it might not be a good place, stuff like that is sometimes necessary. I feel like without the Hog Pit, we'd see some of this shit bleed over into advertisement threads, and this forum has had several experiences why that would be a bad thing. Also, people are gonna bitch. If not here, it will be somewhere (obligatory "Lets blame discord"). The Hog Pit right now is actually far more tame than it was in the past, and much tamer still than what WORA was.
As for possibly improving it. Maybe delete the MU Peeves thread. That seems like it has a lot of vaguebooking passive aggressive shit, and that can be problematic. Individual game threads to bitch about staffers being shitty or about people being creepers I'm more okay with. At least those are somewhat more informative, though there's probably a better way of wording that.
