My district is solidly in the performing category now. (This has not always been the case.)
That said, the state is gearing up to fuck over low income districts with some changes to our accountability system. So my district has decided to get militant and go to war early versus waiting for the state to act.
I love my district.
Just to be clear,
I have deliberately not named particular names on who's replies have come off defensive of the GAME itself. I do not believe that dragging someone else though the mud over how I am reading their posts is particularly helpful and instead would instantly put them on the defensive rather than reflect if perhaps their posts could be what I am referring to.
I tagged @Tinuviel in my original post to help others who are reading the thread know who I was responding to. This was a mistake. Thus:

I am sorry, but I'm really reading some of the comments as a defense of the game's existence. I will respect that it might not be what people are actually trying to say, but it is how the words are jumping off the screen to me, even after going back and rereading.
It is probably an issue of my own bias because I do work so closely with children that issues which could effect them, such as the mere existence of a game like this, instantly put my defenses up. I have a difficult time finding any gray areas. Everyone will read things with their own bias in mind.
I mean, I've been lurking and reading.
Honestly, it does sound like some people are defending the game by saying that at least this is an outlet without there being an actual crime? If it isn't that then I need some arguments restated.
Someone being okay with me taking their idea for their personal growth and jumping off the cliff with it. I ended up thinking up a whole PrP for this person and they went 'Cool, do it' and are letting me do it.

I have the most amazing students this year. They're not EASY, but they are all SOLID little people who are, if no one fucks them up, going to grow up into amazing adults.
I also had one kiddo go to the climate strike today. I was 100% in support because his father did all of the due diligence that he could have to gather everything his kiddo would miss and will make sure he does it this weekend. The kid got a cool lesson in civics (hell yes I'm adding this as a grade for him on our civics standard), and he won't fall behind in other classwork.
I have some of the greatest parents in the world in my classroom this year.
I also have the most fucking worst. One of my babies hasn't smiled all week and won't talk about why, but I have my suspicions. (No, nothing that the law would consider child abuse. That doesn't mean it isn't totally fucking this kid up.)
I could google and find out what that is but I won't. I will trust they are bad.
