    • Did you get diagnosed with...

ADHD as an adult? (I know there are but I don't know the right thread.)

What kind of doctors did you see? What was the process?

I've got a friend that has asked his doctors a few times but been told to meditate, that it will pass, or that it is just the pandemic. However, the symptoms he describes have been consistent since high school and plagued him his entire adult life. I am not about to armchair diagnose, but it feels wrong to go to a doctor and have them brush off a concern without doing the work.

Any advice I can pass on to him?

We're watching Dopesick right now and it's hitting really close to home. My husband's father died of an OxyContin overdose when he was 13 so watching others go through what his family did...

      Yeah.

      @cupcake heart eyes

      EDIT:

My original reason for coming to this thread...

Indi and Sati's new mommy emailed the shelter with some pictures of them in their new home and it has made my DAY.

Guys, if you adopt, tell your shelter how it's going, send some pics. It is ALWAYS appreciated.

Little baby Cinderella came to cuddle with me, and take a little zzzz. She was almost in full flop mode on my chest when across the house her BFF started squeaking. Cinder woke up from almost full sleep to race across the room and make sure her friend was okay.

Then she came back to resume zzzs.

      It was perfection.

The State of Sanderson post came out and again AGAIN Warbreaker, Elantris, and The Rithmatist are on hold.

So because I love to hurt myself, I reread The Rithmatist today. It ends on such a cliffhanger and my soul hurts.

Lol. Liberty University got my email from... somewhere.

So they sent me an advertising email.

And there is just no fucking way I would ever give them my money.

If you haven't listened to Gangster Capitalism about them, do so, and then make sure no one ever ever ever goes there. There are other Christian universities that are better.

The last two from our munchkin litter go home on Tuesday!

This baby is TROUBLE. Everyone loves her on sight. She even charmed the people we use for spay and neuter which is HARD since that is ALL that place does and they see sooooo many kitties come in and out.

She will probably go in next week for adoption and will have a dozen apps in the first two days.

Chrome 'profiles'. I don't plug in my computer a lot these days because I do most things from my phone. So when I need a computer at home it's 10000000 times easier just to sit at my husband's. I don't want to log him out of all the stuff though, so the fact that I can have a profile on his computer it ~wonderful~.

We all know the kids out with Covid now, and we have a teacher out too.

It's just... kept quiet. We whisper. Mostly because it would take an act of government and/or complete disaster for us to shut down again.

We're just... getting sick and then getting better a few kids/adults at a time.

The wind is CRAZY right now.

No outdoor recess because it's so strong we're worried about debris. The building itself is groaning (and I'm sitting in a rom not attached to the outdoor walls!).

It's fine, totally fine. Just turn up the music and hope it doesn't get to Tornado levels cuz then we have to evacuate and walk outside to go to the high school that has a tornado shelter.

There was zero line when I went to the post office today!

I hit it just right because in the 3 minutes it took them to finish my transaction, the line was out the door.

It took a bit but Cinder finally realized that play with other cats is way better than play with people, and she and Play-doh have been adorable since.

My elder Kiva is even accepting and sighs when I put the baby on her.

Husband wants to rename Cinderella to Jalapeña because she can be so spicy and opinionated, and Play-doh to Dr. Kit Baker DQT because she loovvveeesss to wrestle. (I'm currently calling her Squishy because she is all soft and Squishy when you touch her.) The names will stay the same on the paperwork but we call her what we want. 🙂

Also, a bunch of my babies are going home today! Charley has found a family with two fluffy goldens and a one-and-half year old friend, as well as a mama and papa who both work from home (prepandemic even!) so he can be doted on 100000% of the time.

Indica and Sativa also found a mama! I was so worried because they are so reserved but she fell in love with their pet finder bios and came to see them especially. They must have known because they came out of hiding for the first time for her!! They will be the only cats and she works from home so it will be perfect. 🙂

Sugar and Cecilia have both had apps, but no one has passed muster yet. I'm sure it will be soon though!

My lord, these two babies could not be more different!

Cinderella does NOT like Play-doh, or ANY other cat like my Calypso (who just desperately wants to be friends with her), but she freaking loves people. She wants to be with me or my husband 110% of the time.

Play-doh on the other hand ADORES Calypso and my other cats (including Cinder) but isn't a fan of us people.

@rucket Yeah. Considering how some people here feel about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I was avoiding saying it.
