HOT TAKE: MUSHers should just start making MU*s out of open source MUD code that literally already has the equivalent to Firan's bullshit already done.

One Hundred Years of Solitude MUSH
Each character may begin with one useless surreal supernatural power, and those without may have one inflicted upon them, eg. Yellow butterflies keep coming out of your hair.
Once a year or so, you must wrap up for a ten to thirty year time-advance, and either age your character or retire them and make another. Macondo rises and falls.
Isn't this just Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?

@Kumakun FUNimation is streaming the original Gundam starting tomorrow. And I think they have the rights to the other series. So, maybe the base will be there.
I mean literally any mecha game gets like 80 logins practically overnight. I think the base is there.

Doing all of this work with R. Talsorian's Interlock system - I'd love to do a game based on Gundam, or Macross using Mekton Zeta. preferably Macross, but I just don't think there's the audience out there for the series anymore. >.<
There's like always a super active mecha anime game going on. There's kind of a massive audience for those themes.

In no particular order...
Cyberpunk RED
OC-only Superhero game
Scion (either edition)
Deadlands
5E Birthright (D&D L&L setting)I'm an idea guy; I can't code to save my life
A Scion game not run by a crazy person would be great.

I'd really love to make a Pro Wrestling MU
And a Mortal Kombat MU
And a Sonic The Hedgehog MU that isn't run by crazy people.
Maybe a Hellsing MU with the power level scaled down?
That's not gonna happen, though.
Mortal Kombat would make a great MUSH, I see no real reason it wouldn't be doable outside of some much needed world building perhaps.
Sonic MU not run by crazy people is impossible.
Pro Wrestling MU would be tricky.

I've always said that Naruto would make an amazing MUSH, because it has incredible world building. Unfortunately outside of the world building, it's such a poorly written property and the things people would want from Naruto aren't what I would want from Naruto.
Like, Naruto has an entirely defined magic system that I actually find more useful for defining powers and magic than even something like D&D or Mage.

I don't wanna make a giant attention-seeking thread, but I wanted to announce that I changed my name because I'm tired of being a weeaboo.
Carry on.

Actual Cyberpunk
Battletoads
Cows of Moo Mesa
Captain Power
FarscapeThe preview thing mashed this up as "Actual Cyberpunk Battletoads", and I was like "huh???"

Dark, steampunk Wizard of Oz. It wasn't one book, it was a series, with all kinds of crazy amazingness.
Something set in the world of The Dragon Prince - the anime.
Something set in the world of The Dragon Prince - the book series written by Melanie Rawn.
A Mage game set in Philadelphia, which has all sorts of crazy occult history. The Skulls fraternity? Actually exists at UPenn and was the inspiration for that garbage movie. Harry's, the pharmacy turned occult shop that was opened in 1917. The Mutter, the medical oddities museum, because you know there's some weird shit going on in a place crammed full of jars of preserved human organs.
I live in and grew up in Philadelphia. My mother raised me teaching me about witchcraft and stuff, so Harry's was a regular place I was taken to visit as a kid. I'm quite familiar with it.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
My CBD is here, so I'm trying that.
It's 20mg, hopefully that's enough to work!
I mean, it's been about 30 minutes and I don't feel a creeping void of darkness and isolation, so maybe it is working?

While it's true that I'm working on a rather elaborate game right now, there's also a few I wish I could make but for one reason or another, I decided not to.
The Toonamu game, where it was like, a multi-theme kind of deal, primarily centered around anime. I mainly didn't do it because I realized that I didn't really enjoy mashing together so many things that didn't quite fit seamlessly, and I had trouble envisioning where I would take the game if it did get finished.
A Power Rangers MUSH is another one I always wanted to do. My main reason for not doing it is mostly because it's such a niche thing that I don't think most of my friends would play or be interested in playing. I'm sure plenty of people would, but when I make a game I really like it to be something that all of my friends will play, it's just how I am.
I also always wanted an SCP game, but I just feel like I'd run out of steam for running it quickly, I don't know. It was always kind of a shaky foundation (ha ha) to build a game on top of.
And lastly, I'd say, a big one I always wanted probably more than these others. An L&L game based entirely in Hell, where people are denizens of Hell doing L&L shit. I think a lot of people would enjoy and play that, and it lacks most of the problems of these other concepts. But my main reason for not making it is mainly all the OOC drama that comes with running an L&L game. Though I have considered secretly building this MUSH and paying for the server space, but giving it to @Jealousy to run, mostly because I think it would be hilarious to see her run a MUSH.

@HelloProject Online gaming (not MU but stuff like Among Us and other social games) have been good throughout quarantine. Plus they require mics so there's more of a sense of human contact.
It's not that I don't have a bulk of people, it's more I feel I"m lacking my deeper connections lately. Feels like everyone I'm close to is missing. Not sure if that's just my imagination or not. Been feeling that lately.

I have a strong sense of loneliness lately and not a single thing to be done about it.

Okay, I've decided that I'm gonna get a server up and fuck with Evennia and just read documentation.
That's what I've narrowed things down to.
Trial by fire.
Trial by fire works. Evennia code itself is super well documented so you can open up files and putz around looking for how stuff works.
It's good to have a working knowledge of Python though too. There used to be a good years and years ago in the 'Headfirst' series of coding books: "Headfirst Python". I've recommended it more than once to folks new to writing code that were interested in Python.
Not sure how new you are, but if you want some little projects to learn the syntax and some of the "guts" of Python itself you can probably score that book for cheap.
In all my searching and reading suggestions, oddly the most sensible learning Evennia + Python suggestion has been "read the official Python website". >__> This has so far actually worked better than nearly anything I've tried over the years.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Macha I've increasingly had these issues over the last few years. I've basically had, like, "cradle cap" my whole life, to put it simply, but over time my skin issues have gotten a bit worse. Like, jewelry made my neck get this permanent dry patch for years, which I finally cured with African black soap, oddly enough. Didn't expect it to work, but of all the different things I tried, it's the only thing that did.
The real stuff, not that cheap black bar you often see for sale. Though if you try this, make sure you do the spot test included in the box.
I have another patch in between my hair and my neck in the back, which I'm currently working on getting rid of. But yeah, give this stuff a shot if nothing else is working. It really sounds like a form of eczema and African black soap ends up being a miracle for some people.

I've lost about 30 pounds in the last two months, due to suddenly shifting to a permanently better way of eating, and also working out a lot and lifting weights. But I'm also stressed out for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.
Good! The stress may be from all of the different things you are trying to accomplish.
That's true. There's kind of this air of, I feel a lot of high tension and just kind of want to relax.
I actually ordered some CBT from reputable company that my friends recommended, though it's not here yet.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Very belatedly, as I haven't posted outside of Hog Pit in a while.
I forgot I was posting about my grandmother here. She's basically fully recovered, though she has diabetes now thanks to my parents never fucking listening to me, so I'm trying to get this house better than it was before so that she can return.
Also trying to kick my roommate out because I'm basically sick of dealing with bullshit like having to listen to a 15 minute excuse for why he can't flush the toilet, and then he acts like I'm the bad guy.
I will have a new roommate soon. A MUSHing friend who I actually want to live with, rather than a shitty emergency situation like I'm in now.
I'm selling my expensive synth to buy two other synths because basically I've realized that I can get more from these other two and they function more practically. My current synth is great, but I ran up against its limitations in that to get the sounds I want requires so much programming to the point that I basically never use it.
If you're curious what I'm gonna use the money to buy in its place: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Wavestate--korg-wavestate-wave-sequencing-synthesizer
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/OPSIX--korg-opsix-altered-fm-synthesizer
If you aren't familiar with synthesizers, they might look basically the same. But they are veeeeeeeeeery different beasts that make veeeeeeeery different sounds. One is a primarily sample based synth that is kind of a more advanced version of the Wavestation from 30 years ago (just listen to the Donkey Kong Country soundtracks and imagine the technology advancing 30 years).
The Opsix is an FM synthesizer... just listen to any Sega Genesis game soundtrack and imagine the technology advancing 30 years (but Streets of Rage is the best example, because Yuzo Koshiro is a genius FM programmer).
I've lost about 30 pounds in the last two months, due to suddenly shifting to a permanently better way of eating, and also working out a lot and lifting weights. But I'm also stressed out for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Feels like it's lots of small reasons. But either way, hopefully I'll be done with those things too. I feel like everything is going well, aside from needing to kick my roommate out. So I don't know, I'm sure I'll figure it all out soon. I even got my roof patched up. I can't afford a full replacement, but for now it's patched up enough to keep rain and stuff out.
