Erotic MUSH except the entire world is one giant corporate office and we live there and are stressed out, and revolt with occultism and fucking. And some of the offices have been taken over by sects of anarchists who do sexy things and dance around a fire naked, with all of their calculators jailbroken to play Doom.

I thought Trill Sex was when you have sex with an attractive woman in her late twenties but call her "old man" the entire time.
Trill Sex could also be when you're having Netflix and Chill and then suddenly he starts doing piano trill techniques on your vagina.

Hello!Project's Mysterious Game Project Thread
So unlike when I popped off and shot my load when I was gonna make a game before, I decided to take it slow and one step at a time, and not even announce the project until it's further along.
What I'd like to do is make this general thread for posting any questions I have, and eventually when the game is further along in its development, make a thread outside of this portion of the forum.
My first question here, that I never asked or felt the need to ask, is how customizable is Ares? Like, if you know Ruby and such, can you just code the whole game for your liking, or is it meant to function in a very specific way?

TS = Trill Sex
Only sex where we keep it 100% real.
Yes I'm teaching racial linguistic lessons outside of the diversity thread now.

RE: [NSFW] Erotic RP Concepts
Really the ultimate kink is the friends we made along the way.

RE: [NSFW] Erotic RP Concepts
Repost from other thread.
Slacker demon from hell who grants wishes, but the twist isn't that he wants your soul, it's that he wants to twist your wish into teaching you to sin and embrace your shames.
Mad scientist who is mostly focused on science, but resorts to Very Mad Science when he's attracted to someone. Like tampering with the laws of physics to bang a ghost.
Wizard who also does erotic wizard things and smokes magic hookah.
A Cheshire Cat man.
And various degenerate things that never quite get off the ground, but these are the three I tend to find myself playing most often, in that order, especially the first one.
edit: @GreenFlashlight Those things you said are the bread and butter of erotic RP, understanding that is a masterclass in TS.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
Not that anyone asked, but maybe this will spark some kind of discussion. In a TS game, my generally most frequently played concepts are:

@Pyrephox Everyone is TSing everywhere, so it wouldn't be more drama than the average MUSH.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@Pyrephox said in Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey):
I wouldn't mind an Erotic MU* with a stronger theme, as long as the theme doesn't get in the way of having erotic play, if that makes sense? Although there's nothing wrong with having an Erotic MU* that focuses on a single small set of kinks. Like, I think there are niche MUs like...Shoujo Ai MU? Or that m/m superhero MU* I don't remember the name of. Where they lean into a specific kink constellation.
But, I admit, one of the things that appeals to me about a huge 'wide theme' MU* is the ability to get a whim, create a character for a specific scenario, and be able to (theoretically) find that scenario until I get bored with it, then drop the character without causing any distress to anyone else, or messing up any sort of plots.
I have nothing against games like that, it's just that when it's pretty much nearly every game of this sort that gets made, I'm like, I'm ready for new shit.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
I agree with @Cobaltasaurus to be honest. Multiverse TS game just feels really fucking played out. We need an actual theme to invest in, I'm kind of tired of the sex sandbox backdrop. That's why WoD is the most enduring TS theme in my opinion lmao.
Like damn, let me be a wizard who does sexy wizard things, but also I can do other wizard things, and Doom Guy won't suddenly walk in like "I'M GONNA FUCK YOUR SEXY WIZARD THINGS!!!"
edit: By the way, probably a good idea not to let people make characters under 18 and such. While this might seem obvious to many people, a lot of people seem super keen on the right to play and fuck child characters, and I'd just like an alternative where that is not a thing.

The survey didn't have a tentacles question.
Here I just want to add an addendum for myself.
Tentacles - Strongly Agree

RE: MUSIC
Didn't know where else to put this. It's not a song or anything, it's an unlisted video I just uploaded of me testing out my new synthesizer. I'm pretty much trying to become familiar with making sounds on it and such, so during my video I'm pretty much attempting to go as deep as possible into the sound design.
I didn't touch the digital oscillators, as the sheer level of complexity when I introduce those gets insane. So I'm trying to get familiar with the analog oscillators first. Near the end I do play a little chord progression, 'cause I thought it'd sound nice.
Also I have no fucking clue how my synth got that dusty within one week, so I ordered a feather duster. I guess camera lights reveal all.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
I definitely can understand this person's points as far as describing skin color, and I'm not even inherently against following that, nor do I think they're wrong or that they're even making bad points. But I just personally see nothing wrong with doing the food thing, or some other comparative description. Like, are there implications if you dig really fucking deep and really deconstruct it? Sure. But like, I'm not gonna read someone with "mocha skin" and suddenly feel like it's a microaggression.
That said, I do think this person might be coming from a place of having read a lot of people who probably use those terms in very unfortunate ways. I can definitely imagine all kinds of ways that one could use those terms that might come off as a bit much or objectifying. It's really hard to give a good example, I know there are examples but in truth I'm about to eat so my brain isn't fully functional to articulate this.
Buuut I don't know, again, I'm not saying they're wrong, I'm just saying I just kind of don't have a big feeling about it, it's not something I see as a pressing issue or one that I particularly encounter in a context that I find offensive. But I'm only one person and I don't want you to take my indifference as absolute law. You'll have to use your own judgement if you want to consider if this is something you want to avoid or not. I'll try to think of negative examples later if someone else doesn't by the time I come back.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
Hot take: Even if this person is black, like, fuck off anyway?
Tyler Perry is black and mostly preaches boomery black Christian agendas and has weird colorism shit where the dark skinned black people in his movies are the asshole wretches and the lightskinned people are either the saviors or victims and such. (Colorism is a deep cut issue within the black community that there's no need to get into in detail, but, it's something Tyler Perry is criticized for).
I also meet white washed black people perpetually, who have the same fucked up racial opinions due to the people they're surrounded by who regularly do this weird subtle gaslighting by making you feel as if they're your friends and you aren't really black, etc. So you start thinking all the black things about you are negative, and you don't "fit in" with black people because you aren't "like them".
Additional Citation: I WAS LITERALLY ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE FOR OVER A DECADE
Or hell, motherfucking Bill Cosby. Before he was a known shitheel for drugging women, for decades he pretty much shamed any black person who didn't fit squarely into his definition of what black people should be. This has been a common Bill Cosby criticism for fucking ever. In A Different World, the first season is a Cosby written season. It's his ideal boomer ass vision of black college. Immediately after that, a young black woman, Debbie Allen, took over the show when the producers were told that this show was inaccurate as fuck, and from season 2 onward the show actually becomes good, and Cosby has nothing to do with it. But my point is, Cosby weaponized his blackness and white Americans could look at him and say "well, if a black guy is saying it, must be true..."
Being black and weaponizing your blackness against other black people is a big fuck off from me. I firmly believe that POCs, LGBTQ people, and whatever else, should express themselves however they want if it isn't hurting anyone else. I don't think anyone should have to be a certain way to be accepted, I don't believe in respectability politics. You want to be a Carlton nerd? Go ahead. You want to hang your pants down and wear a durag? Go right ahead (actually I'm currently wearing one, my hair needs that shit).
Hell I'm not even gonna shame raceplay, everyone works through their shit in their own way, I'm not even entirely against doing it myself if I trust the person, that shit is lowkey hot.
However, if you're gonna go out of your way to very clearly weaponize your blackness against other black people, or do some shit that is clearly meant to provoke random white people in a way that only makes it harder for black people to interact with them or literally exist, then I've gotta draw the line there. Like, by all means, troll and provoke known racists, but doing shit like that person attempted to do on Arx with people I haven't really heard much of anything bad about only turns people who might not know any better against us, and then I end up having to be the one who suffers the consequences for it.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
Lmao I just read that fucking app, what bits I could get through without just fucking wanting to jump off a cliff.
SEETHING, PERVERSE LUSTS!!!
Holy shit, you know, this app is perfect because I've been wanting a more clear example of when it's obvious when a concept is racially fucked. I don't think a single person read that app and went "hmmm I don't know what the problem is here".
This is what I mean by it's kind of obvious and common sense shit. It's a clear example. Is it possible to fuck up in some subtle way that is probably ultimately easily cleared up with a conversation? Sure. But if you have genuine interest in writing a POC that isn't one giant fetish, it's really, really fucking hard to just accidentally write an app so bad it needs to get banned. Unless I guess your entire impression of every non-white race came from watching white comedians do whatever-face.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
I mean I hear cis lesbians talk about diversity all the time without sounding terfy. But like the way you word things is extremely confusing. Like, it's not as if there aren't good points that you make (I've literally never seen someone play a butch lesbian in MUSHing in my entire life, which is a perfectly valid concern), but then there's other stuff that you say where, like, obviously Rinel is gonna go "well uh what do you mean by that then".
Like it's just really difficult to get clarity from you about certain things, and then it just kind of keeps going in this circle where it feels like you're avoiding giving an actual clear response to stuff, which just kind of keeps it confusing. It feels like when you respond to things you're somehow simultaneously giving shitloads of detail about what you mean while also being vague at the same time.
If I were talking about black issues and a Chinese person was like "whoa wait a minute" because I said something that sounded really questionably racist against Chinese people in the midst of me talking about black issues, I'm not gonna be like "wow I guess I can't talk about black issues now", I'm gonna instead get an understanding of either how I fucked up or where the misunderstanding happened instead of getting incredibly defensive about it, which obviously is only gonna make things worse.
I don't think a single person is disagreeing with you about lesbian issues, I literally backed off my stance on lesbian portrayals many pages ago because I'm pretty sure it was literally you who made a counterpoint that made me reconsider what I believed.
What some people are questioning, I feel, is the weird squirrelly language on the topic of trans people, in addition to the questionable male socialization thing. Like, that's the stuff that comes off as TERFy, not the talking about lesbian issues. I don't get why you would dig into being defensive about it instead of trying to get an understanding of why people are saying what they are.
-
RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
Well, we've gone a bit beyond my depth in terms of being able to talk about this topic without me fucking it up, so I'll just see what Rinel says.

@Pandora said in Diversity Representation in MU*ing:
Non-binary, genderqueer, genderflexible, trans, agender people exist, and some have male socialization, and some play lesbians without a lot of regard for female socialization differences, and that's not been great for lesbian representation on games and it's hardly hating or fearing trans people to say so.
See it would have legitimately been better to just lead with this instead of dancing around the point, because then I could have just said "you mean it's not great for cis lesbian representation since trans lesbians exist."
Because, yeah, the experiences of trans lesbians are often really different from the experiences of cis ones.
I didn't dance around any points, I said what I said and you chose the most uncharitable interpretation possible and that's just a day ending in Y on the internet.
@GreenFlashlight That was tackling the pretty uncontentious part of what I'd said, I left 'male socialization' out because I wanted to talk about lesbian representation being diluted by men for years & that being something we've talked about forever, versus the newer mainstream coming to terms with people socialized as male who no longer identify (or never identified) as men.
Spellcheck is telling me 'uncontentious' is not a word and it's stressing me out.
In modern terms, "male socialization" has become a pretty strong TERF dogwhistle. With the way that you responded to Rinel with being dodgy in your responses, on top of the use of that term, it was kind of hard to come to any other conclusion.
Like, if you didn't understand this and it was a genuine misunderstanding, I'm explaining it now so that you understand how people might take that. Unfortunately language and other things tend to shift in a certain way once very shitty people co-opts and weaponizes it against other people. And the way that you wrote things, and how you responded after, it seemed like a pretty contextually sound conclusion that you had some TERFy intent, especially since they tend to be squirrelly about what they're actually trying to say.
See: Literally everything JK Rowling said for like the whole of last month.
Edit: This post is not me calling you a TERF in this moment, I'm only trying to explain how other people saw things (Including me).
