@GreenFlashlight I definitely see players of hetero characters do it. Ultimately I find that the "uwu snuggles u" type stuff is highly common among anime fans and furries in particular, and teenagers period, or I guess just straight up emotionally immature people. But, that said, even though it makes my face invert in on itself, as long as they aren't having 30 minute makeout/snuggle sessions in the lounge, I'll just let people do their own thing.

I read stuff.
I already have my concept figured out.
Now I'm just waiting!

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
I love this show because of comedic takes and discussions on these very real minor cultural things.

In this helpful video, start at around minute 8 and keep listening.
This is why I support nailing down certain discussions on this board regarding diversity.
I've seen this video, it's a great video.

Anyone good at Ares wiki design/setup? Willing to pay if needed.
Unfortunately not yet, as I haven't started working on my Ares MUSH yet.
Also this new writeup is great, gives me ideas.

RE: RL Anger
Thanks for all the advice. This shit really fucked my head today and I had to tell as many people as I felt comfortable telling.

RE: Gauging Interest
Also I'm assuming that people in different crews can be in the same plot.

RE: RL Anger
So, my ex-therapist tracked down my Twitter (as I have a google info box due to releasing my music through a distributor, so google is like "Wait are you famous?"), after exactly two years when it would no longer be illegal for him to contact me. And then, after I had to figure out who he was, he confessed that he always was attracted to me. I always had weird vibes and like some things he'd say and the way he'd make physical contract with me kept feeling very inappropriate, which is a part of why I left. But then when he tracked me down today (literally this was like an hour ago), he said all kinds of wildly and blatantly inappropriate stuff.
So yeah I'm incredibly emotionally shook.

If you make this Doctor Who game I will immediately app on it. Let's goooooo!!!

RE: Gauging Interest
ALSO I HAVE DIBS ON GARRETT HEDLUND I HAVE A PLAN FOR MY CHARACTER IN THIS GAME THAT I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT

RE: Gauging Interest
I'd play this game. Hell I've played a Time Lord before, I called him The Professor! Lmao original character do not steal.
But yeah I'd app into this game in a heartbeat. I love the idea of doing time travel shit in a MUSH and just going against the grain of what a place normally allows in terms of something like this. I think that it's okay to trust your players and do something cool and unique!

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Rinel I have dermatitis issues. Stuff that doesn't heal unaided is pretty normal for me, even if it sucks and made me think I had cancer too.
This stuff can seem like you're permanently fucked, but there's a lot of stuff out there that works pretty damned good for this, it just took me years to even realize what I had in order to find stuff to treat it. But since you know what you've got, don't be afraid to try some creams and shampoos and stuff.
I HIGHLY recommend staying wary of anything with steroids in it though (usually stuff that end in "sone"), even over the counter, as it isn't usually the most sustainably long term treatment. Unless a doctor recommends it of course. But if you know your exact kind of dermatitis, there's plenty of shampoos, soaps, creams, etc, that are fairly harmless to experiment with.
Hope this helps! Feel free to DM me if you want help.

Yeah, like... don't tell people that story on Shang. You'd get requests.
I had -- note the past tense here -- a long-standing habit of having characters sarcastically spitball some absurd bullshit in an entry pose, like... walking in while finishing an argument on a phone, or grousing to an assistant about how they were at their wits end because they're trying to find/do some patently ridiculous thing.
On Shang, I had to stop doing that.
Because, in the prep for a party/festival thing, I posed in complaining to the person helping me about 'how the character had to insist we were not going to literally spit and roast someone to eat alive at the party' to another coworker.
At which point someone in the public space I entered started to ask if I would please please please please please do this to them and wouldn't leave me alone for two weeks begging me to do it every few hours, despite me telling them NO repeatedly.
...so, uh, yeah. Cautionary tale, y'all.
This is why I no longer play characters who eat people.

@HelloProject I've mentioned this before on the site, but I know one black online RPG player who only plays white because of the time a white dude saw her PB and paged her about how glad he was that there was another "street" character for his kung-fu crack-smoking gangster lesbian to play with.
The PC was a lawyer.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
On the topic of both sex and diversity, I've had multiple people over the years get disappointed that my black character wasn't a rough thug type and express how unsexy that is lmao.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
I play these games for friends, violence, romance, political intrigue, creative exploration of outrageous concepts and personal flaws, and the sex we made along the way.
-
RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
Before I became a sex weirdo I was super freaked out about people being the opposite gender, but also I was like 18 lmao.
Also @Rinel is basically one of my top favorite RPers and we've barely RPed. I really need to get back into the swing of Arx things.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
The worst thing I ever saw was on Shang, I think I mentioned it here before, where years ago this dude walked into the square and started speaking in the most outrageous way possible, like something you'd see out of a racist meme comic, and was dropping N bombs all around. It was absolutely wild. My brain felt as assaulted as when I attempted to watch Revenge of the Fallen.

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
@Ganymede You're right, really. I don't know why I've always had trouble getting beyond this and doing what I want.
