I looooooooove my Toshiba -- the SO broke my desktop the other day trying to help, so I had to haul my 7 year old (oh geez I've had it forever) laptop out to use for the time being. The keyboard is toast, but I plug my gaming one into it and I'm golden. There have been very few functional problems with it.

I work in IT, and everyone in my office is 35+. We roll out brand new tech all the time. Just got a 3D printer in the office, actually. What you are saying is demonstratively false in the industry, not confirmed as fact.

Helpful reminder for those who have forgotten: the little eye symbol beside someone's name ignores people (and actually works, this version!).
From what I have seen, I think it's related to the fact that they use a roster, and that you request a roster character as a guest, rather than creating a character from the login screen just to be given a mailbox and another character. Don't know! That's just what I suspect based on what I have seen.
There might be easy workarounds, but 'apply for character off roster as guest, get e-mail with password sent to you so you don't have to wait on the game' really isn't a bad system. It seems reasonable enough to me.
Same. I actually use a website spreadsheet that I can access from both work and home for that very reason. I think Google has a solution, though I use smartsheet and highly recommend it if you are a heavy spreadsheet user and you don't mind paying an MMO subscription cost to it every month. ^^

I second @saosmash. I have full faith in staff there, and I am saying that even with having been burned so fucking badly recently elsewhere. These guys have their shit together, and I have zero reservations.

I am not a teenager, and I am COMPLETELY AWFUL at estimating how old somebody is. I cannot tell by looking at them any more. If they're 30 or under they look like a child to me. Until they're 75 or so I can't really tell how much older than me they are. So.
Yeah, I was briefly confused by the Domestic Partnership thing myself, but decided it was close enough for government work. ^^
Yeah, I'm not at all suggesting that there's any problem with people that DO enjoy this stuff -- I happen to like the challenge of the -isms in my own play, much of the time. I was objecting to the idea that there was something wrong with people who did not. I object to it being stated that it is such a foreign idea that it could not be understood, when all it takes -- at all -- is a little bit of empathy to understand why exploring trauma someone has experienced RL may not be something they want to do in their pretendy fun time. I object to the thought that there is something wrong with someone wanting to explore some aspects of the Victorian age (pretty dresses!) and not others.

I'm always down for RP and pulling people in and all of that. I'm not really running plots currently because Amber and Victoriana are eating my ST brain, but I do tend to generate a lot of RP for people.
@Cobaltasaurus That makes me sad. It's pretty much an amazing game. I don't have enough good words to describe the place, but I've been pretty consistently impressed. Boo for flaking. 
You know some people don't care though. You could always ask. Though I don't know how hard you flaked on it.
I did not used to be a fan of the ascii/ansi art or colors or anything, but @ixokai made me switch to Potato a while back and now that I can see /all/ the pretty colors, my opinion is swiftly changing. Some of the stuff all y'all can do is incredible.

It genuinely seems so obvious to me that I don't know how I could provide examples, I'm sitting here looking at the posts.
