    • RE: The Desired Experience

      If I only ever have four sandwiches to bring because it’s a hard limit for me, then if you need more than that, I won’t ever be at your party. Please tell me up front, so I don’t waste everyone’s time.

      I have in fact in recent history noped out of more than one game because their activity requirements were just too much. It was no hard feelings, I don’t think anyone was even crabby (a little disappointed maybe) but it wasn’t a PROBLEM.

      My life and circumstances are HARD where RP is concerned. My job requires a LOT of mental and emotional energy to get through the day. It’s good, but it leaves me with very little left over for hobbies. I can find the time for my nearest and dearest when I have half a brain, but the full brain required for someone new is RARE. Not impossible, just rare. I still contribute, but it will never be through my gripping bar RP, not again. That’s just sort of how it is. Thankfully I have found a game where my situation works. Thank god I don’t have to deal with people who think not living on the game is a problem, any more.

      @macha

      At this point, a pay cut will be made up for in the "this place is not a trash fire" department, I think. I'd rather see you somewhere that realized you were a human being that paid a little less than the nightmare you're in right now for ANY amount of money. Obv it's your life and all of that, but seriously, I am doing my equivalent of praying for you.

      Topical should be a really good solution!! And Ceres Garden is a really stable/reliable brand, their products are super consistent (so you don't have to worry about the top half of the solid being one strength and the bottom being another).

      I feel NO psychoactive effects from this solid, but everybody's bodies are different so I can't promise for absolute certain. Hearing that though 100% I do think you should try it. I think it's worth a shot, because if it DOES help, it's a damn game changer.

      https://shop.seattlecannabis.co/south-seattle/brand/Ceres/product/Renew_Mind%2C_Body_%26_Soul_Balm_Roll_Up?id=1ea6229b-ffe4-4460-9917-0ab10dd4209e

      It's by Ceres Garden.

      It has St John's Wort, Ginseng, and algae in it (special algae? Idk). 300mg THC 300mg CBD, but that's for the entire solid, which is 3.4 oz. (My solid lasts me a good 6-8 months). You'll want to talk to a budtender regarding the THC being in your system / how much you are getting in you; it's my understanding that it's pretty minimal, but my job doesn't care if there's traces of THC in my system. You don't want one of the products that has removed ALL of the THC, because of...um, the vehicle of how it works? Sorry, my lingo is bad, I haven't had a convo about this with a doctor in years. The THC carries the CBD to the right spots like an adorable donkey with a hat on.

      You should pay about $30 for it, which means it's not a hugely expensive experiment.

      The specific pain it's dealing with today is joint pain brought on by the changes in barometric pressure related to sharp fluctuations in temperature (aka arthritis due to season change). It also helps (for me) with the similar pain that comes with the metal supporting my bones expanding and contracting with those same pressure changes. It does NOT help with fracture pain (or does so minimally enough that I don't notice), and muscle pain has been hit or miss. It DOES help with sore feet from being on them for too long.

      CBD.

      Bless you, CBD roller. I have not had to take a pain day yet this season. I just rub this stuff on my wrists and the pain evaporates. I CAN TYPE. The difference a few minutes makes is "relief cry" territory, too. I am so glad my body chemistry makes this work.

      It probably has gained me several years of life (and CERTAINLY has made a big difference in the quality of the years I have left), because this shit was my "try this before going on narcotics permanently" hail mary.

      Doesn't Shang have a donation button somewhere? I'm pretty sure they do, for hosting costs.

      I do also think that a Pateron is a REALLY GOOD idea -- if nothing else, letting us help w/ hosting costs would be good. No reason y'all have to be paying for it AND dealing with the headaches of moderation, too.

      @ganymede said in Forum wonk:

      I'm looking for options. And pricing. I don't mind this being a public debate either.

      No opinion on the technical side of things, but -- MSB is the people. If we have to start threads over (or whatever), I do not think there will be any suffering for not having eleventy billion pages of the peeve thread. Archive can stay up for however long if people want to go back and look at it, but my guess would be that it would RARELY be accessed because as engaged as a lot of people here are, the value isn't really in the years and years of posts.

      There's very little in the way of historical data that would make sense to be concerned regarding losing, because none of it really serves any purpose (beyond nostalgia).

      When was the last time you (general you, the reader here) looked at a thread that hasn't had posts in more than two months? I would hazard a guess to say that it is a very rare occurrence.

      Your feelings on the game are one thing. The aggression being aimed at another person here is a different thing entirely. Please stop.

      No. What I object to is

      My first two comments were aggressive, because I am sick of the asshole Gloomhaven fanboys I have had to deal with,

      Which is not the tone in my mind's ear. Idgaf if you like or don't like it, but this is not the Hogpit and your hostility is inappropriate.

      My kiddo had an accommodation for writing because he too had the issue of not being able to do it no matter what executive dysfunction say NO WRITE. They ended up having him use this thing that was sort of like a Chromebook in size and literally all it did was type what he would be writing.

      Find out if they can get one for him to try. It was like night and day for us.

      If it bothers you that much maybe a constructive Gloomhaven thread could be something you choose to put on ignore. Nobody here was being an asshole fanboy.

    • RE: Balancing wizards and warriors

      The Star Wars MMO (ignoring that they're changing it), the reason people play non-Jedi is because the non-Jedi have as much value as the Jedi and their stories are as good (or in the case of the Imperial Agent, better). It is just as cool in that game to play a Bounty Hunter as it is to play a Sith, no kidding. Not "almost as cool" or anything, but literally straight up just as cool. I think this would apply pretty much directly to the topic; give cool things to do, give equal story weight, get people playing things that aren't Jedi.
