@silverfox Fairly certain it loosely follows the Marvel Zombies limited series a few years ago, back when DC was doing Brightest Day Darkest Night, which was also kind of undead based.

And in the comics, it pretty much ended the same way.

Also, DC is doing a series called DCeased, which is another undead/zombie storyline. But I will say that was a fascinating storyline.

I KOTOR 2 that wasn't a hot garbage fire in the second half of the game because it wasn't finished and just pushed out the door.

I love Obsidian but goddamn they cannot catch a break when being given time tables.

Also, there's never going to be a Jade Empire 2 or remaster and I will forever hold that against BioWare.

    • RE: Pandemic Era Issues

@sunny For clarity, I'm not talking about people that are scared of getting vaccinations due to previous trauma or last history. I'm not talking about them.

I'm talking about people that politicizied the vaccine
I'm talking about people that downplay Covid.
I'm talking about people that won't take it because 'mUh FrEeDoMs'.
I'm talking about people who think god will protect them.
I'm talking about people who push fake articles thinking that they prove the vaccine is more harmful than good.
I'm talking about people promote misinformation because it'll get them elected.
I'm talking about people that downplay the efficacy of the free vaccine in order to push their multi-thousand dollar antibody therapy.
I'm talking about people who push fucking horse dewormer.

I can keep going if you like. But I'm not talking about,

      The immunocompromised.
      Children.
People with cultural trauma over medical experimentation.
      Organ transplant recipients.
      People undergoing HIV treatment.

But that top list? Yes, I literally do not give two fucks if they live or die. And if they do happen to die of Covid? My compassion is zero. My sympathy is zero. I. Do. Not. Care.

They fucked around, well now they found out.

I'm not even angry about it anymore. I simply don't care. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

These people wanting to spout "muh freedoms" don't seem to understand how vaccines have always been mandatory in some situations.

In school or college you had to be up to date on all your vaccines or you couldn't go to school.

Having be up to date on all your vaccines was a requirement to work in a medical setting or position

Officers in the military tending their resignation over the vaccine forget that on fucking Day 3 of BMT, you're filed down a line of nurses who jab you about four times in each arm and you didn't question it then

So fuck them. Every last one of them. They have nobody but themselves to blame for dying on this stupid hill of ignorance.

Hell of a hill to die on, but at least you're dead.

To all the unvaccinated dying of Covid and taking up spaces for people with cancer and other diseases and literally being turned away because there's no room?

      Let them die

I've been working in a Covid lab for going on two years. My compassion and sympathy have long since run out.

    • RE: RL Sads

I can no longer tell if I'm being distant from my online friends or if my online friends are being distant from me.

I have to physically restrain myself from asking repeatedly what I did wrong or how can I fix it.

Problem is, I haven't done anything recently to warrant that kind of question, as I've taken kind of a hiatus from most online presence, at least in regards to game playing. Even on my own game, I'm only doing things once a week.

But the absence of people I tend to talk to once a day hasn't gone unnoticed. But I have to remind myself that maybe just everyone is busy with life/work/whatever.

Still, I often wonder if I said something. Or something I didn't say. And it just becomes a vicious circle.

    • RE: Faraday Appreciation Thread

@faraday has put up with my continuous list of either odd or simple or just ignorant questions, wholly oblivious to how coding actually works. She's been kind enough to tolerate all that and still answer my questions.

If it were not for Ares and Fara, I would not have the game I have now. And while there's stuff I'm going to want to do or see if I can do, the fact that I have a game at all is a testament to how easy Ares is to use to get a game running. If her goal was to make creating the initial setup as painless as possible so you don't have to know a great deal of coding to get something off the ground, then she's done it.

I'm also grateful that she allows us to bend and twist around the systems to do what we'd like. And while I might be old-fashioned and may never truly get on the scene system, it works really well for my game that was by design, not meant to be played all the time, every day. I might be a fan of grids and rooms, but I can't deny how useful that system has been to a lot of people. Even including myself.

Fara is indeed amazing and I'm very thankful she created Ares.

Running the first real event of my game's metaplot and a bunch of people showed and it was a great time, even if it was a lot of lore-dumping on players so they have all sorts of threads and bit to chase down for proceeding plots to run.

However, playing about five different NPCs for four hours will definitely take a mental taxing on you after awhile. Still, I'm happy everyone enjoyed it.

I plan on seeing The Green Knight tonight. I have a low key love for Arthurian stories. So even knowing what the movie will be about, I'm still very interested in this particular take in this story.

    • RE: RL things I love

So, I finally proposed to my girlfriend of three years two weeks ago. I couldn't think of any other way to do, so I just dropped it on her when she got off her flight at the airport. Was going to do this DnD one-shot with a proposal at the end, but I realized the timing to get our group together would be a herculean task with how the summer has gone. And really, she didn't care how I did it, so long as she was surprised.

Fast forward to this week, she's been looking over venues for the reception. Me personally, I'm much more low key about these kind of things but this is something she wants to do, and well...I'm not getting in the way of that. Anyways, she finds this whiskey distillery that's pretty inexpensive to rent out for functions. It's small, but that's fine because we planned on having a very small wedding anyways.

Originally, we were going to go this Friday. Get a tour, probably taste some whiskey, and likely have a good time. The owner asked if we could do Saturday instead. When my fiance asked me this, I hesitated.

I prooooobably shouldn't point out to her that my game's metaplot event is kicking off on Saturday at noon and that it's probably a better idea to just push the event back from 1pm to late afternoon/early evening, should I.

Thankfully, while the game has a small playerbase, pretty much everyone is like, "Why is this even a question."

I really appreciate the players there.

I ran the first event on my game last night, for the first plot that's tangentially related to the metaplot that will probably start rolling come next weekend.

I finally broke the ten player barrier, and had people show up. I haven't run events in a long time, as I'm far more used to DMing than GMing, but everyone seemed to love what I put out, even if it was nothing more than a dispute at the gates of the city.

It's rewarding to be able to finally tell stories that I've wanted to tell and people being really interested and already asking questions to meet with NPCs related to said plots.

No, I don't have a lot people playing. But that's okay. I've worked pretty hard on this theme over the course of a year and people generally seem interested in being apart of it. There's a lot of personal reward in others enjoying it. And I enjoy making stories for them.

@too-old-for-this Thanks for wording it far better than I can. That's very similar to how I tend to feel.

Which really sucks, because I feel like there's a lot of shows with stories and content that I'd really enjoy.

What sucks even worse is when it's game I hear about from a friend on Steam, look it up only to see that it's done in a style that I just can't do. Very often it's a game that's displayed in isometric(like Baldur's Gate etc)and I just lose interest so quick.

      @ganymede said in Good TV:

As an example of the hate, I have a friend who says all of the right things, claims to be woke and progressive, but "just can't get into" She-Ra "because of the art."

Some things are just subjective. Art direction is the primary reason I haven't gotten around to watching She-Ra.

I do believe the art is subjective thing. This more or less my reason for not watching it. It's also why I've never watched Adventure Time or Steven Universe and why I was only able to stomach Rick and Morty for two seasons before opting out. I don't know, if a visual style isn't my thing, I just can't get into it. And that's a me thing. By no means am I downplaying a shows message.

To note, my fiance is frustrated that I don't really want to watch Adventure Time for the same reasons I don't bother her when I want to watch The Expanse.

But I could watch Gravity Falls and Voltron and Avatar.

I dont believe that not liking a show because of its visual style should somehow say something about a person's ethical or social beliefs.
