Hope and pray that The Expanse game gets made. That's what I'm waiting for when it comes to sci fi.

Okay. So. I don't think that anyone is pushing back against the idea that you can't play a racist or a bigot or any other kind of character with some kind of prejudice. You see it plenty on WoD games because real world prejudices still exist. It happens. Hell, I've played a characters like that in the past.

And there's a difference between random players not liking each other and eventually making snide comments and snipes at each other to jumping right away to the idea that anyone is saying that everyone must be PC so we don't trigger the snowflakes. From what I've read, I haven't seen that.

You have two extremes here going on. Neither of which anyone was advocating for. Allowing characters to act like obstinate dicks IC? Whatever. Happens on plenty of games and it's never been an issue. From what I read, and maybe I'm wrong, it's when there's no OOC structure to discipline those players that take that freedom too far. Because there should be limits. There have to be limits.

The whole idea of 'everything is allowed' is ideal in theory. But humans are pieces of shit who will take every mile they can for every inch their allowed.

No, no game should be PC-world where everything is nice and any bad language is treated with draconian authoritarianism. But no oversight with nothing being seen as negative is just as bad.

There needs to be a middle ground, and this litmus test to say 'if it's worse than Trump' I'm not sure is the best measure.

Just want to say that I'm going to play the fuck out of this game once my work week is done. Devoting my weekend to it.

I got a character going with a friend and we've made some preliminary plans. I have to say, this is one of the most unique concepts for a game. And I'm utterly fascinated to see where it goes.

I really like the idea of creating your own little world, creating bonds with other dreamers and then creating bridges with those dreamers to visit their dreams.

I don't know if there will ever be any kind of grand unified theme or metaplot or whatever, but at this point, I don't care. I really like it.

I think this is the first time in a long time I've seen a mush so something utterly different, to my knowledge at least.

Some people say their butt is awesome when really it's just a boat. In this case, it's a really nice butt. I think I'm using that old WORA analogy properly.

Here's the question that I'm wondering that others may of had as well. If there's other characters from other worlds, does that mean we can play a character we've played on another MU here? Just, you know, their sleeping part.

Either way, I'm interested. Original concepts I'm down with.

Recently got back into Warframe after a break from it. Really feels like the one free game that keeps giving. And it's just so damn good, seems like the game that Destiny should've been.

My problem with Warframe, isn't exactly Warframe. I originally spent a lot of time playing on PS4, before I got a new desktop. Turns out there's a number of co-workers that have their own clan and I wanted to join.

But just like everything else Sony hates, it really hates account migration. There's no way to bring over all the frames, weapons, etc that I bought while playing on PS4, never mind what level I happened to be at. So I have to start completely over from scratch. Which is really a let down, but I should've expected that. Because Sony.

Anyways, Warframe is still good stuff.

As cool as having Donnager or Agatha King sized ships would be, I'd be more into smaller ships. Akin to Rocinate or Guy Molona

Though I'd be careful about allowing PCs getting weapons on their ships. Some OPA ships did but they were in the minority. The running trend seemed to be unless you were a military, you're not likely to have weapons on it.

Then again you could also have a really really stupidly rich corporation and buy your way into weapons.

      And stealth tech.

      And alien bio weapons.

@auspice So you're still reading Caliban's War? That one I think is the most faithful of the books to tv in the three seasons so far.

Once you read Abaddon's Gate and then watch season three, there were a lot of liberties taken. The main plot points are there, so it doesn't skimp on that. Just some things like how the PoV perspective of Bull in the book is transposed on Drummer in the series.

There's a lit of big and small changes in the third book to the third season, but I don't think it's bad. I think they're both really good on different merits.

I could nitpick the first book and first season, how Holden didn't call in the distress call on the Scopuli. How they weren't stranded in space until the Donnager showed up.

Mostly, I think I'm just happy to talk about the material with people who've also watched the show/read the books. Seriously, I keep looking for people at my work and nobody has heard of The Expanse.

      Breaks my damn heart.

I should add if you do watch The Expanse, make sure you watch it on Amazon Prime. To get the unedited Chrisjen swearing every other word without making the censors work overtime.

I lost my desktop last year and I've been saving money away from work to get a new set up. I finally built it a month back but it lacked a monitor, had been using an old flatscreen as one, which made text really hard to read.

I've now finished my setup by getting a slick LG Ultrawide monitor that'll be 1 of 2 monitors I plan on getting for my dual screen setup. 2650x1080 is crazy looking and takes some getting used to.

Also, I didn't know that Logitech makes some damn good speakers

I'm really happy with the computer and the fact that it's taken me so long to save for it makes me extra happy. And it's mine.

And just because I want to offer specs on what I bought for the computer people in the house.

      Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk
      CPU: Ryzen 5 1600

The Churn relates to a side book in the series about Amos and it's also something he says during the series. To a guy he really wants to vent into space.

I mean it's just more Amos appreciation which I can completely get behind.

Isn't Medina Station in S3 still considered the Behemoth? Its splitting hairs, I know.

Watching the show made me read the books. Currently on Nemesis Games, which I think is book five.

I will drop everything in doing and play this, full stop. As much as I love the Rocinate crew, kinda glad there won't be a Jim Holden running around to be Sols resident white knight.

Though I'd take any excause for more Miller, even if that's not feasibly possible. Or Drummer.

When you go for an interview for better position at work and you're forced to get shoved through four different interviews, one after a another, for a total of two hours of pure verbal grilling. Only to be mentally exhausted near the end of the fourth.

For those of you that saw the 'trailer' for the Skyrim Very Special Edition, it's an actual thing for those of you that have an Alexa.

I don't, but for those of you that do, try it and report back.

@jeshin Because no one would dare have hurt feelings over something a character said in a game.

People have zero chill, even when fictional characters are throwing shade at their fictional characters.

Seeing shade slung around in the condemns was a highlight of the week on Arx. Because sometimes they were just hilarious to read.
