Realizing you've only had 7 hours of sleep, 4 hours one day and 3 hours today respectively, for the past 72 hours. Because your insomnia is that bad right now.

RE: General Video Game Thread
I don't much play JRPGs anymore, but I have a certain fondness for the Yakuza series. Just because they're both equally off-the-wall zany and ridiculous while also being well-written and serious when it wants to be.
I say that as a precursor to the fact that I picked up Fight of the North Star: Lost Paradise. It's more or less Yakuza with a Fist of the North Star skin pulled over it. If I didn't think that Yakuza could get better, there's something about the 80s anime apocalypse veneer that takes silliness to a certain new height that I cannot help but appreciate.
This game may go under the radar of a lot of people, but I'm advising if you enjoy a game that can take it seriously while at same time not at all, you may get a kick out of it like I have.
If you give me a game where Kenshiro mixes drinks with the same intensity that he explodes bandit's heads, this is a game I cannot help but love.

RE: NOLA 2: Back in the Vieux
@rdc said in NOLA 2: Back in the Vieux:
We're also dropping Beast, since our second most received feedback was "I hate Beast", and we experienced balance issues. (Read: I played a character long enough to get about 130xp onto a Beast and realized that shit is cray.)
What's the big issue with Beast? Is it just too overpowered compared to other spheres? The one time I played it I really enjoyed it, mostly because it was something other than Changling and everyone fucking plays Changling.

RE: Help a kitty out.
Most humans are shitbags until proven otherwise. And that usually revolves around that specific person. Including myself. Especially including myself.

RE: Help a kitty out.
I still find it strange that, depending on the person and if they deserved it, I can observe suffering and be unphased about it.
The moment it's a cat or dog or any other pet like animal, and I get irrationally emotional about it and with the overwhelming desire to do SOMETHING.
I can only offer cash but I hope your fuzz gets better soon.

RE: Chromebook MU* Clients?
I wish setting up triggers was a little more clear cut with Duck Client. It doesn't always want to work
Or trigger as the case may be. Still, I think Duck Client is an underrated mush client that more people should try. Even if they don't use a chromebook. -
RE: Random links
For you grammar Nazis in the house, you and Mike Pompeo have something in common.

RE: How to use Potato MU Client
I don't suppose there's any way to tab between your main window and your spawn window instead of having to physically click the spawn window to see your channel text, is there?
I know it's really stupid, but it would just make looking at my coms a lot easier and quicker to switch between coms and my main window if I could just alt+tab between them. But I'm not sure there's an ability to do that.

RE: RL Awkwardness/Cringe
Saying "You too" whenever a server sets down your meal at a restaurant and says , "Enjoy your meal".

RE: RL Awkwardness/Cringe
Yeah more or less what @surreality said. Just a thread to share in like or similar situations. I mean there was no motivation other than just starting a thread.

RL Awkwardness/Cringe
So I couldn't rightly find a place to put this, so I decided to just make a thread about it. Because there's plenty of stuff that makes us, while not exactly angry, still kind of awkward. Or stuff that we either see people do or do ourselves that might be considered cringe.
So like, me, earlier this week, broke up with my girlfriend of six months(there was just nothing going on between us and we broke up amicably with no hard feelings)and still having to live with her until I find a new place. We say it's okay, and it probably is, but man if there isn't that feeling of awkwardness now.

RE: RL Anger
For the record, I'm only just getting over being sick today. As in, my throat doesn't hate me and my tonsils aren't swollen to the size of grapefruits that I don't want to talk. I had forgotten what it was like to swallow water without pain, it's bee so long.
On the other hand, my date from last Monday has been sick-free since Friday because she lacks tonsils, so maybe it was easier for her to get over. I got to suffer.
Still. Worth it. I'm going to hope the second date will not be nearly as tragic.

RE: Development Thread: Sacred Seed
Yeah, I'll probably give this game a try when it opens. Haven't read over everything, but probably will once the wiki stuff gets set in stone an whatnot.

RE: General Video Game Thread
@jaded I'm buying it either way, so I don't really care. Though it does seem silly to remove one line of dialogue. I don't really think it's making a commentary on immigration like a lot of people are saying it is. That's a bit eye-rolly to me.

RE: General Video Game Thread
So I guess there's this new thing where people need something to be angry at in video games, so right now, some fans are pissed off at the new Doom Eternal gameplay because there's a pretty funny comment said by an overly peppy AI interface among the hellscape of Hell on Earth.
That more or less goes "Demon can be an offensive term, please call them the mortally challenged."
Personally, I thought it was really funny.

RE: RL Anger
Pro: Going out on a date for the first time in almost a year with a super cute nerdy woman who's around my age, who has her shit together, and plays DnD. Thicc an nerdy, that's how I like'em.
Con: Getting a call from her the next day to say she's come down with something nasty, and then proceed to be laid up in bed because you caught the viral laryngitis that she gave me. Also, spent four hours in the ER, and then another hour or so getting fluid pumped into me via IV because I was too dehydrated since I couldn't swallow anything because my throat hurt so much.
Side Pro: Found out what morphine feels like. Holy shit.
