else then Vampires could take "Sleepwalker-Only" Merits and I sincerely doubt that.

Maybe they can. Everyone was originally a human in some form or fashion, across the game lines. Apparently anything that makes you no longer a pure vanilla 100% natural and pristine human also means you're considered a Sleepwalker. A minor template like ghoul, or a major template like vampire, or a supernatural merit like psychic powers or thaumaturgy, all sound as if they make you qualify as a Sleepwalker.

So it's essentially just the exact opposite of those merits that say they can only be taken by 100% pure vanilla mortals. 😛

I'm sure someone will think to ask about that sooner or later, though, and we'll find out.

I wonder if that will just be updated to something like "Relating to disbelief". Meaning that hey are not true sleepwalkers but they don't cause mages to have all the drawbacks a sleeper would.

As for your neighbors, that sucks!! I just told a friend of mine to quit calling the cops when his neighbors are yelling at each other in their yard. They're white trash and they'll retaliate.

I just saw a comedy like that but the neighbors in that movie were collage dudes, still, you could have a movie in the making right there .

Haha. Yeah. It's a sort of peeve of mine when people expect every wedding/festival/ball/whatever to also include something totally unexpected and probably violent.

My experience has been pretty much the exact opposite. Someone makes an +event that seems so very ordinary that I expect something cool to happen. It's like... "beach party!". So, okay, I go, and since this is a game of personal horror I figure hey, maybe zombies will come out of the black waves, or maybe an amoeba-formed human-shaped abomination will start absorbing the flesh of horny teenagers.

And, no, it's just a beach party. People pose coming in bikinis and then an hour later everyone idles out. I guess that's a form of personal horror.

Hahahahah! I'm with you man, nothing is more weird to me than the "normal" event! Buuuuuut, this goes back to probably the difference between players and the time they have to spend playing.

I use to love events like "Turner Dinner Party" that ends up being some real event exploring the manor. Or as a hunter on the reach going to a rock opera that turns out being a supernatural scenario that the participants need to investigate to figure out how to escape. The worst was "vampire pool party". Just saying !!!

@TNP Yeah, but, with a little imagination and guess work the long term aspiration can be rather easy to come by.

Are you playing a vampire? Oh, perhaps your long term aspiration is "To gain status within the city/covenant/or Clan".

Demon? "Secure an additional cover for <insert stuff here>" or "Join one of those demon group things and start raking in the cash or whatever"

Its pretty simple if you don't sweat it so much. I'm much like what people have been saying here, I like to grow into a PC but the starting aspirations seem the easiest thing to get past.

There's a considerable difference between "I don't like this, so I'm not going to bother to understand it" and "This is complicated and vague." You can personally dislike new things because they're new to your heart's content, but call a spade a spade.

Agreed... And now I'm confused why it was even brought up.

@Miss-Demeanor Sounds like shitty players... In a hobby and game that is suppose to be fun or enjoyable shouldn't be such a burden. I have a feeling that's what the improvised conditions are about. Beyond that it sucks to constrain players to "just this list", so, I think its cool. And furthermore...

This is a misconception, though. For example, in nWoD 1e, raising a Skill or Attribute got you diminishing returns, because each dot cost more than the one before. So having lots of mid-level stats (and thus becoming a true Jack-of-all-Trades, Master-of-None) was a lot cheaper and easier than being the master of a bunch of them.

No, in nWoD 2e, it costs you the same.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, but the latter certainly doesn't favor the jack-of-all-trades type more.

Agreed. My best PC ever in nWoD 1e was a vampire with all 3's in attributes and a rich helping of 2's and 3's with a few 4's and 5's thrown in on various skills. He was scary because he looked like he could do anything if you didn't see his dice and only the successes because he succeeded at most anything. On top of that he was a PK monster which use to make me laugh when someone would try to kill my PC with their all maxed out combat stats and then would get smashed with a combo of smart tactics, discipline use and an understanding of mechanics.

I'm curious to see how 2e plays out all around and am very excited for it.

Below is straight out of the Vampire 2e book, doesn't that make it fairly simple?

      Conditions

Storytellers shouldn’t feel limited by the list of Conditions
in the Appendix (p. 301). As a rough guideline, a Condition
typically consists of a modifier between +2 and –2 dice to a
certain type of action, or to any action taken with a certain
motivation. A Condition is removed when the character’s done
something significant to act on it, or when she addresses the
original source. The sample Conditions later in this book have
examples of how to resolve them, but you can also resolve them
after other events if it makes sense in the story.
If play would bog down as you search for the right Condition,
just improvise one and keep things going.

Who's down to create a Sin-Eater 2e version for mu* consumption? I think we have a great group of people here that can collaborate to make an interesting and great addition to the 2e games (this is based on the assumption that Sin-Eater will be the last thing ever re-written if at all). With the way Demon, Vampire and Werewolf look I think Sin-Eaters can fit in... What's everyone think? If nothing else it could be an interesting project to mess with.
