"I'm bored" doesn't really bother me. Sure, there are better ways to ask for RP, but at least they're trying in their socially awkward way. What gets me more is when people fill a channel with 'omg life sucks, <insert illness/personal tragedy>'. Often repeatedly. I understand that it sucks, and this might seem heartless, but I don't know you and I'm here to play a game, not to be a therapist, and now suddenly I feel that if I want to say 'hey, anyone want to go do <IC thing>?' I'm somehow trivializing someone's suffering, so I just don't bother. If you do this, please consider taking it to pages, rather than doing it on a major channel.

RE: RL things I love
Four months with the new company and they've decided to give me my own property (i.e. much more responsibility). Apparently I'm doing something right.
It does mean I have to move again, after four months, which kind of blows, but the money and opportunity are worth it. Not to mention a stroke to the ego.

Original Witcher's on sale on Steam for 1.49 and Witcher 3's 30 bucks off until Dec 1.

RE: Do you Tabletop?
Yes, lots, yes, yes, no.
Moving on, I have an additional question. What is your favorite game to TT, as ST or player?
Ravenloft would be my favorite to ST (although it's been awhile). My first D&D book was a 1978 monster manual. Ravenloft had plenty of monsters (two books worth that I remember), and a really cool history to connect them all. And it seemed darker than your typical fantasy.
Also, while I've played both WoD and D&D TT, I think I generally prefer the D&D. I'm not sure if it's the system or the people/playstyle it draws, or a combination of both.

RE: Let's Talk Metaplot
Just noting that the HM Changeling plot did end/was concluded, it was just after most everyone had already bailed. Like a TV show which knows it's failing and wraps up everything in one cheesy grand finale. It could have been epic, and was instead ok, but it did in fact get wrapped up.

RE: RL Anger
My management company.
Have a broken tooth with exposed nerves and find out that the dental insurance they've been taking out of my paycheck for three months wasn't actually filed so I have no coverage. I would have had an appointment today to fix it, but now I have to wait 24-48 more hours of excruciating pain, and the inability to eat or sleep, because of their fuck-up. Thanks, management company. Screw you.

RE: Fallout to WoD Conversion
I'm actually working on something like this currently (Ground Zero, there's a thread for it here - http://musoapbox.net/topic/302/ground-zero-help-needed). Or I was. I stalled a bit with RL and then running into some coding roadblocks. I just switched to a new host and am in the process of re-vamping a few things. @thebird and I have been working on this off and on, but it's very much along the same lines. @thebird put up a new advertisement, I believe, with and updated intro, but I can't find it at the moment.
Anyway, it's basically the same thing. Fallout-esque, mortals only, have been debating between mortal nWoD or a system called Exodus (which was pretty much based on Fallout and can be found http://www.loki.us.com/images/Exodus_Survivor_s_Guide_v1.5.pdf).
So if you'd like to hop in, or work together somehow, or whatever, then hit me up. We can at least brainstorm and compare ideas and perhaps help each other out.

Deanna@TR?
Looking for Deanna (the corvid changing breed) on TR. The one who was helping me out with the new place. I had the RLs and missed you and now I have switched hosts, so message me for the new info if you are so inclined!

@VulgarKitten I like videos like that. What I dislike about videos like that is all those people standing around with their cellphones strapped on their foreheads.
Or the people who watch videos in public with the volume turned up and no headphones. I, too, enjoy a good video, but I do not want to listen to yours (general you).

RE: RL Anger
I love bacon. I absolutely love it. Bacon is the reason I only lasted 5 years as a vegetarian. Followed closely by a good rare, Chicago-styled steak.
Anyway, that said, I don't put it in everything. If you chop it up and mix it with things, you lose the baconness of the bacon (BLTs, baked potatoes, and potato soup are exceptions to this rule). Otherwise, I generally prefer to eat my bacon separate and use other things to flavor my food.

My new co-workers.
I just started a new job a week and a half ago. I'm in the process of moving, which means people wanting money all over the place. Then today somehow /both/ the old job and the new job messed up my paychecks, so I received neither. Final move on Sunday. Nothing in the fridge. All my money gone. I was a little stressed.
My new co-workers, who have only known me for a week and a half, 'conspired' behind my back and surprised me with two /very/ full bags of groceries. They told me 'I was part of the family now, and we look out for each other'. I already liked them because while we work our asses off, they make it fun. Now, though, I am completely blown away.
I made the right decision joining the team. I couldn't ask for better people to spend 8 hours a day with. Faith in humanity, increasing slightly.

My inlaws live in Utah, so I've been over that way before. Need to go to California someday, but good grief, it's expenssive to go out there. Vegas is pretty fun if you like the heat!
I do not like warm weather, so definitely looking forward to curling up in a chair on the bay with a good book and a drawing or two. 60-some degree weather. So ready. There's always Washington. A fraction of the heat, lots of casinos. And rain. And going into casinos to escape the rain. And losing all your money and ending up sleeping in the rain. And worshiping the rain by mingling your tears with it as you cry yourself to sleep in a gutter somewhere with the oversized slugs and sentient mold.
Still better than Vegas' heat.

RE: RL Anger
I haven't owned a scale in a decade. My belt tells me what I need to know. I think people worry too much about the numbers and gloss over the actual fitness, and that's what leads to things like anorexia, steroid abuse, and a ton of other disorders/addictions. Healthy doesn't have an exact size.
That said, I kinda agree about the thin being 'bad' these days. It's been that way for men for a long time (don't be the scrawny guy or you must be a geek/academic/nerd/whatever) but I'm seeing a different strain of that directed towards women these days. Namely, the 'if you're skinny, you're a snob/hater/fat-shamer/etc'.
Fact is, people need /something/ to complain about and, in some cases, to take the blame off of themselves. If it's not race, it's size. If it's not size, it's going to be something else.
People need to stop being so.... /people/.

RE: RL Anger
Put in two years at a job. A good employee. Even got a damned Employee Excellence award. Live on-site (at their request). Be a good tenant. Find a better job and put in my two weeks notice, even staying on a little longer so they're not screwed over while a co-worker is on vacation. Ask if I can stay until the end of the month at my apartment and get pro-rated for the last 10 days. They say sure, that's great. They owe me a last paycheck, vacation pay, and my security deposit. Nice, yeah?
No, not nice. Get a /text/ (can't even call me to be dicks) today saying that I need to pay the pro-rate amount by /tomorrow/ (less than 24 hours notice). The amount I owe is less than 1/4 of what they owe /me/. Except they want their money in under 24 hours, where as they won't give me what they owe me for 4-6 weeks (nor will they subtract what I owe from the amount.
I am angry. A perfect example of why I am leaving this company in the first place. And with all of the things I have let slide but taken it upon myself to document, they're about to have a hard time.
(On an aside, the new job is wonderful and I love it.)

RE: Safe Haven Harbor is seeking a few good players!
I played SHH when it first opened. I found it fairly friendly and easy to find RP on, but people were a little trigger-happy with the 'fixing things' in my opinion. With the high-level chars, it seemed like the post-apoc setting wouldn't last for long, and that they'd nearly solved it a mere month into the game thanks to Magely things. Other than that, I enjoyed the game. I think it would have been better as a Mage-only game, or with everyone starting at the same level, but staff and players were both friendly and I found a good amount of RP. Keep in mind, this was months ago, so I don't know how it's changed since.

RE: Anyone want to ST for Changeling?
The average seems to be about ten, give or take, but there's new people coming in and +events going on, which is promising. I have to say, again, how impressed I am. The coding is fantastic and the people are super welcoming. I have had more offers for RP in two days than I had in weeks at other places. In addition, the staff is super approachable and friendly. Granted, I've only been there a couple days, but wow. Good job, guys.

RE: Anyone want to ST for Changeling?
I finally logged into this place and I just have to say I was impressed. Although small, the staff and the players seem super-friendly. The news and help files are very well-written, and the CG layout is pretty sweet. If you're a Changeling player, it's definitely worth checking out.
