Sure, but the problems we're placing on the head of the roster is that it's sort of designed that way.
A character relationship can go poof, sure, but someone new isn't going to pop up to play that character in a month and try to rekindle that initial magic. Rosters are designed to have multiple people playing a character over its lifetime.
"The hobby" is a really bad way of phrasing it, in a way. I enjoy the game I am presently on, I probably wouldn't enjoy a vast many others.
I also have this nasty habit of not caring about what is said here, because it doesn't matter, so I get to have my cake and eat it too.

Honestly, if you want mortals to actually matter in WoD, you'll want to make a mortal only game. Mages think mortals are basically sheep, Wolves think they're pets, Changelings don't count for anything, and Vampires think they're cattle. Mortals are furniture when anything else is the focus.
And this is just a me thing, but I'd never want to play a mortal that stays a mortal. I am a mortal in a crapsack world with a shitty life. I sure as fuck don't want to play one.
@surreality I especially despise people that rely on an appeal to authority to some claimed professional or educational knowledge. I hate appeals to authority normally, but especially on the internet by faceless, nameless, probably lifeless people? No, I don't care if you say you have degrees in X, Y, or Z - 1) I don't believe you, 2) That's not an argument.
In most of the discourse I'm familiar with, we're Millenials. Our children are Gen Z.

@faraday Except that a MU* is larger, generally, than a tabletop group. One can find people to roleplay with that don't annoy them far more easily than at a table. So there's no reason to move on.

The initial question was answered quickly. "Are there any WoD games with roster characters that exist?" "No."
@ghost That's where we get into the battle between accessibility and security. Which is an unending debate here and in the meatspace, so it'll just lead to annoyance and frustration if we get into it.

Okay so my delivery was cheesy, but I think the sheer number of posts dedicated to complaining and breaking people down compared to the number of posts related to loving the hobby or working together is telling.
I think it's important to ponder it.
People come here more often to complain and debate than to talk about their ooey gooey feelings. Shit's not complicated.
If it's fifty-nine degrees, but feels sixty-four (by whatever metric this app is using to decide such things) then SAY it's sixty-four. I'm not a farmer, I don't need to know the temperature of the air and the soil, I need to know why it's so sticky at nine am.

Of course not, some folks hate the idea of giving their email address to games. Besides any measure of proof of identity can be falsified enough to pass a bouncer relatively easily. It wouldn't take much to fool game staff.
That's definitely a very different take on NPCs compared to what I had in mind...
