No, you. Not him.

Witness #568 says, "I saw him having sex with a prostitute two years ago."
Witness #569 says, "I saw him having sex with the same prostitute ten minutes later."The prostitute in question being either dead-through-old-age, exiled, sacrificed, a level (or tier, or whatever it was) IV that was made simply to fuq), or now a general.

Not that I want to appear callous, or worse like a boomer, but in the case of the worker who's job it is to collect the carts... that's their job. That's what they're there for. Jobs can be hard, of course, but that is their job. They're there to accomplish a task that others are unable or unwilling to do so.
It all comes down to the idea that one is assuming malice, or at least apathy, rather than a genuine issue when it comes to the behaviour of strangers. So empathy does go both ways, to a point.

RE: Things Coded in Firan
@HelloProject Given how long it has been since Firan, you're going to have a time trying to find anyone that remembers anything beyond the words 'domain system'. Presumably, it was about resources in various territories and income and those sorts of things.

@greenflashlight Well from an outcome-focused viewpoint, there's no difference between arguing philosophical ideas here and slamming my genitals in a car door.

@Ominous Why code when you can just decide to let your favourites wi... I mean. Be better able to take into account the subtle intricacies and machinations of such things.

RE: Things Coded in Firan
@HelloProject To answer your question in the most... generalised way possible: A domain system is any feature set that manipulates territory to acquire resources. Be that actual mining and the like, or influence, blood/essence/whatever. How you'd go about making it would depend on what exactly you want the territory to look like, who you'd want to have access to it, and what resources are worth the investment in aquiring.

If it's a system I've used in a classroom to reward attendance and participation, it probably shouldn't be used by and for an actual adult.

RE: Things Coded in Firan
@HelloProject The most important part, in my player-side view, of any system is that players need to want to engage with it. If 99.99% of the playerbase can get by without it, they will if it means avoiding learning something new.

@cupcake I am well aware of the complexity of the idea. This is why I think we should err on the side of a cockup rather than conspiracy when it comes to a young person doing it once.

I see a lot of things as, would be a cool optional thing that would be fun, but also don't wanna force a particular playstyle down anyone's throats.
The... 'problem' with many of those ideas is that if a person gains an advantage through such a system, it ceases to be optional. It becomes mandatory for everyone, not just those that find it fun.

are there actually rules
Yes, there are. Lots of them.
When a royal needs to use a surname, they don't generally use their house, they use the name of their title. Prince Charles uses Wales, as did his sons prior to gaining their own titles, for instance.

Only if the game is made that way. There's a reason we constantly have back and forth arguments about dinosaurs and such.

You know what sucks? PET RESCUES.
I want another parrot.
What I don't want is to have a white upper-middle-class neurotypical straight woman interrogate me and inspect my home to see if I'm a good enough person to have a pet.
I dunno, man. I want to be on your side, but I've seen far too many abused animals (used to work for a vet during college) and I definitely see the desire to make sure the pet isn't going to be treated super goddamn poorly.
Adopting a pet should be more like adopting a child than just buying a toaster.

Also pooping and peeing on Firan not being coded was a common Firan meme.
Pooping wasn't a thing. I'm fairly certain that people didn't have anuses.
That'd explain why I never did anal on Firan.
I'm also fairly certain that was the reason they decided not to have anuses.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@derp I have, though usually jokingly, also suggested such things.
But it's one of those problems that's hard to enforce without stomping all over people's liberties and such.
