Part of me hopes pandemic fashion forces people to actually standardize sizing across brands.

Yeah. Even in men's pants sizes where it is supposedly by actual inches measured there can be a huge variation between brands. I remember seeing a story on it somewhere where they bought a few different brands of the same 36" waist and there was a 4-6" spread between them

      slide into DM

Pretty sure I've read all the stuff (except for White Sands graphic novel)

The only thing you would spoil are things I've forgotten.

      Height: 6'2"
Desc: Somewhat on the short side....

I'm guessing it was someone that set the height and then forgot about it while doing the desc but I found it amusing anyways.

@silverfox Finally finished it. immediately went back to re-read (listen) to Secret History of Mistborn and the White Sand story. Parts of that made so much more sense now.

Just got a spam call from a Boothbay Harbor number. I blame you people.

Maine only has one Cracker Barrel and that's relatively new.

Lots of Stephen King's work has been set in just vaguely renamed Maine towns and cities, but all of them are pretty small.

My theory is that people just don't want to deal with the Boston accent, but basically want Boston as a setting given the population sizes folks put out their.

We have the Down East accent though. its worse. It's a wicked pissah.

    • Why are there so many MUs set in Maine?

Figured the advertisement board wasn't the place for this.

I am curious was there have been a few (3 I think? At least 3) games set in Maine and all of them have been large cities that don't exist in the state.

As a state we are largely rural and heavily forested with a low population density especially once you get above North Massachusetts (Portland, ME). The largest city has less than 70,000 people and the state 1.3 million

Are people aiming for the old colonial time history with spooky, desolate woods to go with it? I totally get why no one chooses NH though. UNH is there and screw those losers.

    • RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.

@ganymede I had a Murano that did something similar one day. Had a nut on top of one of the battery terminals that was JUST barely not tight enough and needed a quarter turn to get full contact or would intermittently act like there was no battery at all.

Or it's because of the tourney. No good can come from winning.

The Dresden files fate based game I played on definitely didn't need a GM around for magic anymore than a WoD mage game would.

Looking forward to seeing where this all goes

@silverfox I'm not through the book yet but have had to check some wiki stuff one names that I couldn't quite place. It's been years since some of those things were mentioned.

I already have the cosmere short story anthology on queue for after I finish to catch-up on some things I don't remember reading about the first time through.

    • RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)

A game set in the Acts of Caine series by Matt Stover.

Has a sort of The Network type setup where the PCs are actors playing the part of adventurers in a real fantasy world for the amusement of Earth back home. I remember reading it and thinking it was a great setup for a game.

When you run a 5E game in Foundry do your players need to have two windows open? One for Foundry and another for DND Beyond? Or can it be all self contained like Roll20?

Foundry I think you can just import it if someone provides it

I am curious how this works with Foundry. But someone else provides does it mean someone gives you access in D&D Beyond and it imports that over some how?

Or someone has written a plugin involving all those non-OGL rules and you can install it

    • RE: Virtual table-top

Is it correct to say that if you wanted to DM D&D 5E with the various non-OGL books you could potentially have to buy them three or four times if you were spread around the different VTT options out there?

For example, does a physical copy give you a virtual copy on D&D Beyond or would you have to buy it again?

Same with buying a virtual copy on Roll20. You don't get access to it on D&D Beyond or Fantasy Grounds, just Roll20.

    • RE: Virtual table-top

If you're just using theater of the mind and no grid I'd just stick with D&D Beyond and Discord.. but honestly so much of combat in D&D is based on location and positioning that I'm not sure I'd even bother with using D&D at that point.

With Roll20 at least you don't have to use D&D Beyond at all, it's all self-contained. I think Fantasy Grounds is the same. You can buy (some) of the books through your VTT of choice and it unlocks the options in the book for you to use for character generator, encounters and the like.

From a quick look at the mobile website it's hard to tell.. does Foundry support non-ogl books like roll20 and fantasy groundS?
