RE: Respecs.
@thatguythere Yup! That is my experience as well, but that's more a problem with mu culture than the system. I totally fall into the same habits. 'hey i'm pretty alright' interacts with other people 'never mind I am mediocre' Which kinda makes me miss justifications. Keeping up with the Immortal joneses is a thing.
Also a 'too much xp' problem. With less xp, the guy with all 5's in combat is still amazing at combat, but he cant tie his shoes without help, and I support this. Where the person who spreads it out is still competent, but more rounded.
Or maybe some boldly written guidelines would be a good idea. 'Were not gonna police you or make you justify all your stats but if you have a 5 in underwater basket weaving, then that is something you dedicate your life to and people notice it'
On FH actually if you pick a high tier, you must also either buy fame or inconspicuous merits to reflect these things.
Sorry for tangenting. Respecs!
I also think that old skills you don't use anymore are still part of your character and should be on your sheet. Sure I'm a Stage Manager on Broadway now, and all my xp is into this but i have high survival because at one point in my life i used to be a park ranger' That shit should be kept, not washed away to minmax better.

@aria They should have like... a reverse uber for car mechanics.
hey, just ride around with me in my car all day, see the shit I am dealing with.
of course if you did that it'd never happen while they are driving about with you.

Live Spell Check. You know, the kinda spell check that underlines your misspelled words as you type them out.
Sincerely, Someone who can spell but has fingers that betray him constantly.

RE: Midnight MUSH
So this sounds cool as hell. If every ounce of my creative energy was not developing another game, I would be tempted. But this seems rad.

RE: Creative Outlets
For me it's pictures and photoshop, a good PB and time on my hands. I need that visual stimulation sometimes. I mean I'm not great at it, but I enjoy myself. Of course I tend to play Changeling or mortals

RE: MUSH Marriages (IC)
I've only had one IC Marriage, and it's awesome. Elmo married Nemo for mutual benefit, she makes sure his condemned house in the woods doesn't collapse on him, and she gets the power and whatever of being part of his Family. They bicker constantly and have never consummated it, because she is the 7th daughter of a 7th daughter and wishes to keep her virginity and value intact. She's worth a lot at the goblin market.

Class/Society Systems, WoD
Okay I'll take a stab at this new forum catagory.
Disclaimer: None of this is set in stone, this is really me throwing ideas at a wall to see what stick and what eggs are rotten. Srsly sky is not falling.
So as many of you know, Sonder and I are working on a game set in Miami Florida, with some elements of alternate present (which is what WoD is anyhow). One of the ideas I've been toying around with is factions and neighborhoods and influence on a basic character level, things to define you, and also get invested in.
In L&L games, Historical Games and even oChangeling, there are usually class systems, Noble vs Commoner, but in 2018 we still have that. High Society, Middle Class, Poor, Homeless.
So the idea is that each character in theory belongs to one of these areas, and that we could give people various bonuses/access/flaws based on which level of society they live at. A member of High Society would probably never be arrested for long, unless they did something incredibly terrible and obvious. They will not however, fare well in many neighborhoods and will stick out like a sore thumb just about anywhere below middle class. Meanwhile a guy 'from the streets' will have all sorts of connections and access to more low class and criminal places a member of high society wouldn't.
Another Disclaimer: These are broad strokes I am painting with above and below, no offence intended
Neighborhoods: This can be something small, but a benefit of having a large grid is that neighborhoods and the like will be more than one grid square. The idea that I am tossing around is small bonuses, and perhaps even influence (social bonuses?) in the neighborhoods/areas where you live. Swamp People in the rich gated community will stick out, and be known not to be local, and vice versa. AMybe you're known as the guy that can get you the best black market pharmaceuticals in little Havana, you have a certain clout here that you wouldnt outside of your neighborhood.
Goals: Investment. More Variety. Fun systems for people that like those little systems. More room for people to have niches. No one has to be the best Back Alley Doctor in the whole City, but darn if you arent the best in yer neighborhood.
What I need:
Thoughts and Feedback. Flaws? Expanded ideas? Actual Systems. -
RE: Let's talk about TS.
@apos said in Let's talk about TS.:
'Naw man it's a political game, don't worry about it', and then find that the political meetings are happening in the middle of a bondage club that has an orgy going on. And that might cause just a little bit of friction.
See, that to me seems like a political tactic. Create an environment designed to make your opponent uncomfortable, and never acknowledge it. i mean as long as they don't spend half the time describing the graphic sex in the background or be a total creeper about it.
I think I once had a meting with people while my PC was doing some ritualistic scarification on another PC, but that fact was like background to the conversation, but it totally made the other PC's (hopefully not the players) uncomfortable.

RE: RL things I love
My Wife.
I'm swimming, she finishes her workout and comes to the pool area, fully dressed and ready to go, sits at the head of my lane, and reads.
I look up, she's sneaking her crispy cheese snacks out of her hoodie pocket.
Gym snacks.

RE: Experienced Tiers or How much is too much?
He is referring to the currently in development Miami game.
We are eliminating the 'catchup xp' and the loads of xp gained for a tier system with a much slower gain. 750 was arrived at because that was the average xp on Fallcoast when we first started development. But rather than have every single PC being boosted to the top Xp as the systems on TR and FC did, we are going for a spread of XP levels.
So every player will be allowed one alt with high xp from the get go (how/when they spend it is up to the individual) and subsequent alts on lower tiers. See Fates Harvest for an example. SF I believe is also doing similar with a lower start.
