I have a version coded up for TinyMUX. I used it for my old DC Universe game.
I keep hearing about the Valiant RPG from people, specifically it's rotating GM rules. Gonna download the quick start rules and give em a look.

You'll get a lot of responses on this one I'm sure.
For me it's DC Heroes (the old Mayfair Games RPG). I think it scales amazingly well, has just enough crunch for those who want it but is easy enough to get into that anyone could pick it up pretty quickly.
I also really like Savage Worlds with the Super Powers Companion. I'd do a SW Hero game tomorrow if I thought people would buy into it.
I'll throw my vote out for Avengers being awesome. I loved Thanos. And, despite there being 100 characters in it, I never felt lost or confused about anything. Amazing movie. I can't wait to see it again.
Yeah, Modiphius takes the stance that special edition items exist for collectors and collectors alone. That was my main problem with their Star Trek RPG release, they were unapologetic about how expensive the Borg Cube editions were. That said the Elder bundle is a really good deal...if you don't care about the special edition. Which I don't.
Man, I said I wasn't gonna buy into the 5E hype for Vampire but those books look so pretty...
@rucket Not really I don't think. I don't think they've stopped working on it but the updates are slow.
@jaded I loved the Autopsy of Jane Doe. 1922 was decent too, but not one of my faves.
@Arkandel It rates a 6.3 on IMDB. For a horror movie, especially a lesser known one, that's pretty good IMO. As a general rule I'll watch anything that rates over a 5, especially if it has good written reviews. Conversely Truth or Dare rates a 4.4 with no decent written IMDB reviews...so I'll be avoiding that one. At least till I can stream it for free.
Throwing my two cents into the "enjoyable horror movie" topic I've found there are a ton of really good horror movies being streamed by the big 3 (Amazon, Hulu, and Netfix). Here's just a list of movies I don't think I've seen listed here yet.
The Blackcoat's Daughter
The Monster
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
The Woman
The Taking of Deborah Logan
Clown
The Ritual (IMO one of the best horror movies in recent memory)
The Shrine is a pretty decent flick
Prodigy skirts the line of horror but is pretty good
Coherence is more sci-fi than horror but was shockingly not bad
Deadgirl was bizarre but interesting
Contracted was another bizarre but interesting movie
Absentia is a movie where I hate the name but love the actual movie itself. Low budget but very well done, IMO.
I've watched every one of these more than once. Your mileage may vary, of course. Especially with the more bizarre movies like Deadgirl and Contracted.
There's also the movie Excision which had some good ideas but was just a bit...too bizarre for me...
I don't know of any such game but I think it's a neat idea. Especially if it had a simple dueling system in place. I'd love to see some sort of pseudo-competitive MU to be honest. Pokemon, Pro Wrestling, Spartacus (Gladiator combat), etc. I wanna talk smack, battle, and deal with the consequences! With Pokemon you also get to go hunting for little monsters and then raise them.
It could be! I'm looking some things over, trying to decide how doable some things are, or if I should go other routes with stuff. It is definitely something I'm chewing on though.
I had to put the message into full screen mode to get it to send.
@Cobaltasaurus What @Shincashay said.
@Bad-at-Lurking In the RPG that's limited to the gods. They can absorb the divine power of the fallen gods to increase their own power. Since most heroes possess a spark of that divine power it's hinted that it's possible they could too but the RPG avoids it to keep power levels fairly reasonable.
@RnMissionRun Sort of? Xena/Hercules comes with an expected amount of camp that I would try to avoid. But similar themes I suppose.
Yeah, calling it a historical game would be wildly inaccurate. It'd be best described as a post-apocalyptic ancient Greece. Olympus has literally exploded, the gods have been cast down to Earth, still powerful but not omnipotent, and most importantly the world is once again teeming with monsters and heroes alike.
From the RPG: Hades, having lost the majority of his power, no longer holds sway over the Underworld. The gates of hell are open and even though the River Styx prevents the weakest souls from regaining the mortal world, the strongest warriors, the mightiest heroes and the most vicious monsters have managed to claw their way back up the Styx and back to the surface.
The gods war with each other as each attempts to be the first to regain full godhood so they can reform Olympus in their own images, humanity struggles to survive, and the heroes(and villains) of the world are forced to choose sides (gods, mortals, or something in between).
That's if we used the setting from the RPG, which I really like. I've used it a bit in private RP and we've had a ton of fun.
So with God of War coming out it got a few of us thinking about RP in ancient Greece. We've actually been thinking about it for a while, ever since Mythic Battles and the RPG that came along with it was released a few months back.
Anyway, I was just curious how niche this would be if a game were to pop up using the Mythic RPG and setting? The RPG is super simple with almost everything being able to be put on the MUX as a tutorial room and the setting, I think, is pretty neat. There's a good write up of it here Mythic RPG.
It would probably be set in one central style location "New Olympus" or something and focus on the characters trying to build a new community while fending off monsters and what not. Game of Thrones meets Clash of the Titans.
Just watched From the Dark on Amazon and I absolutely loved it. Low budget horror but it has surprisingly good acting and they make up for lack of a special effects budget with some very creative camera work. I highly recommend it to any horror fan. For those who might be worried, it's not too gory or bloody though there is some of each.
I highly recommend going with this D6 Revised, Expanded, and Updated. I did up a c-gen in a weekend for fun. It's super simple and this edition is obviously free for all to use.
