You know what's awesome? Constant low-grade anxiety interfering with your focus when you need to draft motions. I love my mental illness significantly impeding my work.

THIS DOESN'T HELP... but it kind of explains things?

I was trying to explain to someone yesterday (HI @Arkandel!) that I can't do staycations because I am someone who, the instant I walk in the door at the end of the day from work, starts stressing out because homgIshouldstartcleaninganddoingchoresand...

I can't relax unless absolutely everything is done and taken care of and even then what if I should-

I don't know how people relax.

                  What is relaxing?

@Auspice I'm doing that right now. I'm looking at this post and going... ooh, I better not do anything about it, or anything else. I'm'a gonna sit there and oooh, reddit! Or Netflix! Oooh, nap!

Learning how to unwind has been one of the hardest lessons for me to learn. Usually, at best, I just distract myself from my stress by playing video games. Actual relaxation is hard.

Personally, nature helps a great deal, assuming sufficiently not-horrible climate.

Got some results from a bunch of bloodwork, and almost bawled at the doctor because there is a little more hope (and confirmation) that a lot of the pain and extreme fatigue and muscle weakness I have been experiencing are not all in my head. Of course that means some more tests potentially in the future to eliminate or confirm some possibilities (that are scary) but at least there is a path forward now.

I have come into finally realizing that trauma can actually have an effect on your memory. Like not just the memory of the traumatic event, but your overall memory. Which explains why I can't remember a lot of my high school experience, mainly the names of people except maybe 2-3 folks. Why I know I had a detailed conversation less than a year ago, but might not remember who it was with or the particulars of it.

It's relieving to know there's an actual cause, and I'm not just a careless person.

Let's talk about bruises. I bruise. Easily. Often. My overcrowded classroom (not because of the number of kids but more because of the physical layout and desks) does not help with this. I smashed my elbow hard against a thing and now have an inch diameter bruise there. My thighs are riddled with bruises from smashing into student desks as I walk normally about the room.

Bruises suck. I wish they came from something exciting.

I once opened a door into my face and gave myself a black eye. Seriously. I'm just that lucky in life. So we are out at a store and someone is looking at me. I'm with my boyfriend at that time. They finally ask how I got a black eye. I tell them that I opened the door into my face. OMG. The look they gave him. They pretty much asked if I had a safe place and wouldn't believe it actually happened.

I also play the 'huh where did that come from' bruise game. Especially when my iron is as low as my vitamin d (which is always severely low). Last time, I made up a story about pirates.

My whole life has been "where did you get that bruise?" I almost never know. Of course, because I did bruise easy and I was a rough and tumble kid, no one ever realized when the bruises weren't just me being a kid.

It is the last 12 hours for one of our kitties. We have to take her in to the vet in the morning for her final trip out.

She is in pain, and she is unhappy. We know this is for the best.

It still sucks a whole lot.

"I AM HELPING Cat", in her younger days. 😞

                                      Oh fucking well.

@Wretched We are so worried for our remaining flouf. She is the sister of the Rica, above. They're identical -- except that Rica is shorthair, and Tesla is a longhair. Even their markings are in the same place.

Tesla is in excellent health, despite the girls being quite advanced in years. We got them in the early 00s, and they were somewhere between 2-5 years old at the time. (Neither the vet nor the rescue knew for sure, and they couldn't pin it down closer than that.) Tesla is a skittish, but very lovey girl, and I'm extra glad I work from home to be able to be here for her.

Cleaning the house is at least good for depression, so we're likely to get on that soon.

                                            Oh fucking well.
