A trainer told me he thought the yoga advocates were injuring themselves because they extend their range of motion but fail to maintain strength through that range, and powerlifters were injuring themselves because they increase their strength but fail to maintain excellent form due to an insufficient range of motion.

A trainer turned me onto combined exercise sets that challenge the body's range of motion and strength. Basically, instead doing traditional, single-motion exercises, go with the complex ones like the clean-and-jerk, standing Superman dumbbell presses, and weighted burpees.

With the help of an online friend who's seriously into genealogy, I was able to discover more information about my paternal family line.

Turns out I am related to Jonathan Harrington, who died during the Battle of Lexington. I can be a Daughter of the American Revolution!

Getting my house cleaned by others. Paid to have people come in and clean it today and it's basically made my day, week, month. Need to have this happen more because it definitely improves my happiness levels.

"thing I love" may be too strong a word for this.

But let's call it a positive thing.

My ex-husband contacted me today. ...to apologize. To tell me that I was great (a good person, a good wife, etc.) and he was the problem (I knew this, mutual friends knew this, but he'd never acknowledged it before). To apologize for how he treated me over the years we were married (he checked off pretty much every gaslighting technique).

Part of me wonders if he was just high and/or drunk, but his messages were coherent and without the usual typos and such that usually come with him in such a state. So, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic and say it was genuine.

I'm not going to suddenly be friends with him (hell to the naw), but now maybe I can visit SC and see mutual friends without being scared of running into him.

Saying the quiet parts out loud since 1996.

When one of the household cars is dying, and you need a new one... and you find one in the type you're wanting, that you're looking for, in your price range, that still has appropriate warranty and isn't too old (I'm looking at a Prius liftback, I found a 2012 with right at 50k miles, so it's got 50k miles and 4 years left on the battery warranty). Wish me luck, I'm going to look at it tomorrow if it doesn't snow.

Good luck with that. It sounds like a solid car. I know it's hard as hell to find good cars in some areas used. Where I was living before it was insane how bad the cars were and how much they cost.

Thanks. I'd love to get a new one, but the price on a new Prius is way out of my range. It's not my only choice (I'm also going to look at a Scion xD that's there), but I have been reading reviews and necessary stuff, and my friend who owns a Prius has said hers (it's a 10) has had zero issues with anything with it, battery included. And I feel like my savings in gas will help offset the car payment.

I'm hoping things go over well with it.

                                @Bobotron I drive a Kia Forte, 200 bucks a month, 75 a month for my car insurance.

I get about 28 mpg city and 39-40 highway.

It's been pretty reliable thus far.

@Ganymede does bicep curls in the squat rack. Truefacts. And won't unrack the weights after.

Hahahahhaha. That happened to me. Well not the whole thing. I was waiting to use weights and this HUGE guy had all these heavy plates. He knew I was waiting for it and didn't remove the weights. I'm like seriously? Really?

@Catsmeow There's a special place in hell for people who won't remove their weights after they're done.
