Current Games
-
Okay, so I think this is the list of current games that are out there. Given that WORA's population has mostly been focused on World of Darkness, this list is more tailored to that, but I'll include some others that I've found.
The Reach (nwod, weird GMC/nWoD 1.0, mashup, all spheres) - thereachmux.org 2009
City of Hope (owod, all spheres) - game.cityofhopemush.com 7777
Requiem for Kingsmouth (nwod, full GMC, vampire/mortal only) - cynage.com 7891
City of Fog and Blood (nwod, full GMC with adjusted XP costs, vampire/mortal set in the '20s) - cofab.mechanipus.com port: 2514
RenoMUSH (nwod, full GMC, vampire/werewolf) - reno.mechanipus.com 7639
Dark Metal (we all know what Dark Metal is) - darkmetal2039.com 2039
Sheltering Sky: Colorado By Night (owod, vampire/werewolf/mage) - mush.shelteringcolorado.com 2601Shadowrun still only has Denver. That's at denver.aelfhame.net:1999
The only Star Wars game with any player base whatsoever these days is Generations of Darkness, which is set slightly post-Clone Wars/birth of the Empire era. That's at galaxy.silvren.com:8311.
Game of Thrones
Game of Bones (get it? it rhymes, ha. ha.) - granitefallsmush.com 4222
Blood of Dragons - bod.westeros.org 3000Exalted's only game is Where Rivers Meet at phantasmgames.org 2526
The only Dresden Files game is Dark Spires at darkspires.mechanipus.com 7777
Mass Effect's single entry into the hobby is Mass Effect: Legends here: legends.lunarlibration.com 2183
And that's all I know of. You can also find out most of this information through mudstats.com. If anyone else has anything to throw on the list, by all means. Also -- as a disclaimer -- I've played on maybe three of these places (not counting Dark Metal, because ohgod), so I don't have much of an opinion about most of them. This is just informational.

@somasatori Adding to the list.
Champions Mux - If you ever enjoyed Hero System this game is for you. It's got a loyal player base but the cgen is a trifle rough if you're not used to it. (championsmush.com 6363)
Witchcraft and Wizardry - Harry Potter themed in the rise of Grindelwald era. Its actually got a good player base and the staff is nice. (wiandwi.net 1936)
Elessar - If you like Tolkien and want a sandbox sort of environment with cooperative storytelling and mature players, go for it. Its a small place and set after the fall of Sauron as Aragorn consolidates his kingdom. I have a lot of old friends here so don't screw off. (elessar.mudhosting.net 7778)
Garou Mush - Yes, this place still exists. Using oWoD rules and strictly Garou (though you can earn an alt slot for other spheres) themed, the application process is a bit strict but doable. I had a number of awesome rp experiences here before fading away. I may still go back. Dunno. Some people call them elitist. I just think they have high standards. <shrug> You decide for yourself. (garoumush.org 7000)

Comux - A good friendly superhero mush in beta. Non-canon, accepts OCs. Nice player base, staff are friendly. (6th-age.net: 6006)
-
Here's a few non-wod MUs
No Return is a zombie apocalypse role-playing MUSH for those who are interested in role-playing in a post-apocalyptic world where undead occasionally try to eat them.
http://noreturn.closetgamers.com/
noreturn.closetgamers.com 2250Eternal Crusade - Knights and Ladies and jousts all day everyday
http://eternalcrusade.wikidot.com/
tacitus.genesismuds.com Port: 1220Lantern Hill - a Teen/Adult drama mu like One Tree Hill and stuff
http://lanternhill.wikidot.com/
216.136.9.5 2015 -
Battlestar Deimos is new BSG game. I would go into description of it, but if you've played one, you've likely played the majority of BSG games out there. If there are any left.
-
Wildcard MUX: Anitaverse, with Fate Accelerated Edition rules. Set in fictional Washington city of Taminkal, with a neutral zone of 'Wildcard Casino'.

@Monogram A BSG game sounds right up the alley -- is it actually open or just in development because I didn't find any connect info on their wiki.
-
I just thought I'd make note that Sheltering Sky is a reboot of Metro. YMMV.
-
Sheltering Sky is really, really bad, at least as far as the Changeling sphere goes. Really really bad. The Changeling wiz doesn't get unseelie vs seelie at all, and has really weird ideas (and by weird, I mean he needs to read the fucking books) about how everything works. Dude does not get it even a little bit. I'm sure he'll be happy to not have to deal with our huge group app, at least (not that he seemed like it ever occurred to him that a large group app might need particular things addressed to keep it from overrunning your sphere). Duck is an idiot, he does not understand the game, and my pet rock has more personality and brains.

Not specifically related, but someone elsewhere mentioned that City of Hope closed and then immediately 'forked' with the same staff. I couldn't find any kind of closing notes or anything though.
-
Add:
By Right of Blood: CWoD Sabbat, in need of players who will both make the effort to explore genre and stay around long enough for the game to build up a playerbase.

Not correct. CoH has never closed. It's been down for a few hours at a time here and there when my Internet connection or server have failed. I forked the database for New Prospect. Coyote and I have wiz bits on both but the bits on CoH go unused with the exception of me logging into CoH occasionally to help fix something. Sea Cucumber has a retired staff bit on CoH which is also unused. Between the two games there is no overlap in active staff.
-
@Sponge
That might be what the guy was talking about then. He mentioned it for like a line on a thread elsewhere then never posted again. -

Finishing up a playerbit right now. If anyone wants to go in on making an aggressive, domineering Path of Night pack, let me know.
-
@Ganymede
If I felt I could RP a Sabbat vampire beyond 'woo roll in the intestines! WOOO!!!!!' I might app. I can't honestly come up with a concept I like for Sabbat, really. -
The head admin of Eternal Crusade has banned about half the staff, so if you left because of them, you can give it another go. We're in a bit of a flux right now because they played most of the plot-driving characters.
Expect Eternal Crusade 2.0 to spawn soon.
-
Kushiel's Debut! It's a Kushiel game, so adult themes and so on.
http://www.kushielsdebut.org/index.php/Main_Page
Two thumbs up.
(I'm Emma and soon to be Evandur there if peoples want to connect with me.)
-
@Sunny I know Sabine from there! I do hope she's okay.

I had heard about that recently. Didn't expect Mycol to grow up and take a stand on his own game. But I am perhaps a bit more shocked that Nermal, Hobbes, et all were allowed to get away with all the shit they did for so long. Either way, good to know that game isn't as cancerous anymore, because it was a real dumpster fire for awhile.
And yeah, they're making their own game. Called Creation's Edge or something equally as edgy.

I do not think she plays there any more, sadly! At least not as Sabine. Sorry!
