RE: POLL: Super Hero MU Gut Check
@ghost That DOEs sound a lot more fun (less so when it is just coded combat). Basically.. giving more utility types stuff to do in combat RP seems fun. whether I play a healer is by whim but it would be neat to see someone who can do mental 'attacks' not be in combat. I'm more DC inclined so my examples are more towards that. I would enjoy seeing more types of characters who use mental warfare. Scarecrow is one that comes to mind for mental warfare.
The 'play to win' sorts is probably WHY I dislike combat RP. I use to like it. I know I use to because I've played warrior types before. They are also why I don't do 'social' combat with people as well. I, often, purposefully make my characters fail, even if I have the dice to pass it. I have characters who concede to someone they pick a fight with just because they realized they were a shit person with what they said or did.\
Edit: I mean MY character being the shit person not the person they picked a fight with.

RE: An-E-May
@Cobaltasaurus @Luna At first she doesn't know. It's when they go to the future that it becomes clear that Mamo and Usa are mom and dad. Mind, Chibi-Usa is basically 'My mommy doesn't love meeeeee.' all through that part. Despite, you know, Usagi being the queen of all the things at that time. Chibi-Usa is over 900 years you'd think she'd grow up she can't have all the things, even if she's stuck looking pretty darn young.

Dark Flag
Okay! I was just glancing at some of the topics here I have not been following and noticed the discussion about the dark flag. My question is how do you disable it? I tried figuring it out but couldn't. Or is it better just to spin the soft code to show staff, dark or not?
My co-staffers and I agree that the dark flag is not something we want.

RE: Incentives
I'm in the party that players shouldn't be able to advance their chars for doing things for others. It is mildly annoying because they are getting oodles of XP when it doesn't have to do with their char.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@kitteh I've gotten told that about the ones I got too. People involved with mine and her actions have told me 'Ehh. We're doing something else now. no point in going over what is done.' It's happened to me a couple times from different people. But.. I'm like 'But /I/ have not done anything on this! I want to know more!' but my bit would not question the people.

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
You keep asking for RP when I am unavailable! THough.. I am seriously considering going vampire on Mikaela. So.. if you want a blood doll/someone to eventually turn.. feel free to hassle me on her.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@thenomain I don't know, really. It's clues and story lines. I just get a lot of 'We're rehashing this stuff.' after a certain point. Because /they/ have the information but /I/ don't.

Sin-Eater Krewe on Fallcoast
I am working on making a Sin-Eater on Fallcoast. I have a couple friends who are CGing with me and since there is 3 of us we'll have a krewe. Want to join the party? Hit me up! We can discuss an angle to make ti all work.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
ouldn't clues that has been gotten already be adjusted to give 2 or 3 that are in the same tree? Like if Joe Blow is looking into the Brightest Star' by Jane Smith has already discovered multiple clues, if not most, relating to that couldn't the new ones looking into along the same lines end up with multiple clues to reflect a lot of the legwork being done? To me.. THat would cut down on the 'outdated' and rehashing of clues and help newer (or not been played) characters feel relevant/catch up.

RE: Buttercup's Playlist
@buttercup I tried being friendly with you OOC! We didn't get to RP much but I always thought Abbas was great.

RE: Encouraging Proactive Players
@auspice I think @Lisse24 has a bit of right to it. More often than not I have found PrPs to be one off things that don't feel like there is anything to follow up on. So, even if you leave all sorts of hooks to get caught on people might just think it is fluff to the scene and won't really go anywhere.
I've seen that happen.. a GM has left hooks then when people follow up there's a lot of 'You found nothing.' (I've seen this on several games and in several plots run) Arx staff has even given characters of players they have banned some interesting ends but they have told players there is nothing to follow up on and that it is just ending the story of the banned player's character. (I even saw a post about it.).
So, I don't think there is anything wrong with making follow up +events, even if, at first, no one shows up. It starts creating a door or window cracked open that people can open wider and enter through.
Mind, @Auspice I don't think I've ever been in anything you've run so I can't say anything about your plots. I don't know how you run or end them. This has just been my experiences.

RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
What @TNP said. I was considering the game until I saw that. I'm not a fan of playing 'featured' characters.

RE: Game Theory: Mortal Horror
@pyrephox Same here. Or if the setting has aging. Quicker aging not something 1:1 aging. Sometimes 'being a teenager' can help develop a char but the majority of the time I will play 18+
