@thebird I find things funny, but I rarely smile or laugh out loud about it. My wife on the other hand snickers and laughs and the smallest thing and is easily amused.
Commenting to remember to do this when I am near my wallet...
@Thenomain I keep trying to play R:KoA. I get a few hours in, and then I stop. Repeat after 6 months. Again, and again. I can't seem to keep myself playing this one.
@Arkandel said in ...post-Rebirth Universe not the New 52. What do you mean the Flash is Barry Allen? No no, I'm out.
Isn't the post-Rebirth Universe Flash Barry?
I can be guilty of longer idle times between poses, even a one line pose, because I tend to play from work so I have to focus on that as the primary. However, I do let it be known before hand that I am playing from work, and will possibly have these idle times, to let people bow out of a scene if they think it will be a issue for them.
shrug
I'm having a blast over there, just started a couple of characters myself.
@tragedyjones I don't know, I always kinda enjoyed our frenemy relationship on TR, but maybe that was just me.
@SG said in What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?:
@Jennkryst IKR? I do love how their vehicle scaling worked in that game. And multi action penalties were a cool way of doing things.
My favourite story about the multi action penalties was from a table top session where a jedi character saw a bad guy and wanted to attack him with his lightsabre on the first round. So he wanted to draw his LS(-1d), activate lightsaber combat(-2d for Sense and Control rolls), run across the room(-1d running check to make the distance) Jump over the guy's computer console(-1d), and then attack him(one action is free.) for a total of -5d. Well, he drew his LS no problem, ran over no problem, even jumped with all the penalties. He failed to activate Light Saber Combat, so he didn't get the swanky bonuses. His attack roll failed by so much he hit himself with his lightsabre and cut off his own leg with the thing, a scene which I think really should have made the prequels somewhere during the youngling scene.
I would want to play in that game...
@Arkandel Blame @Thenomain and @Miss-Demeanor. They mentioned 7th Sea.
I've always been a fan of the HERO system, just for its flexibility, however being so math heavy I don't know if it would translate well over to an online game. Same with GURPS (Hero Lite).
Savage Worlds is something I have some recent experience in, but not sure how the combat rounds would go with the deck of card aspect and Jokers. I am sure something could be coded for it.
Baring that, my main experience is with the Storyteller system which has been used to death.
I'm always willing to give something else a shot!
I'd be willing to play on a 7th Sea game. I have all the new books (but haven't read them yet) so I could at least figure out the system if it was used.
I was looking around today for something else to try, and found a Dresden game, that sadly seems to be shutting down as soon as I find it...just my luck. I've read the Dresden RPG (Fate) and it seems like an interesting system, but I have never had a chance to play it.
At least he can have pancakes with Prince again.
For me, it was a way to see what games were out there. I hadn't MUed in a number of years and this place sprang up from the ashes of WORA just as I was leaving the hobby. When I came back, it gave me some ideas on places to play, and let me connect with a few faces I hadn't seen in a while (figuratively speaking).
@Ganymede Yeah, it was. I was amazed that more people didn't come for Kaleb's easily bought Priscus vote... I think there was only one person I denied, and that was because they were trying to mess with my 'family' in the process.
BTW, in case I never said it. I enjoyed the RP we had together on your various characters. It was always quality.

There should be meaningful mechanical interactions available for people who don't want to throw down and brute force their way through things most of the time.
Let me add something to this.
If you intend to have a political game, there must be meaningful mechanics for people who don't want to throw down. There also must be a meaningful penalty for throwing down.
And at the risk of being repetitious, this is what RfK did well for a time. You could see it in action: when the Invictus tried to fuck with @lordbelh, he went up and stole their territory from them, which caused the Covenant to lose ascendancy. No violence or physical force; just a well-coordinated assault with influence.
That happened a couple of times on TR as well. I remember the Crone getting the shaft a few times because all the territory around them got taken up by the LS, and they couldn't leave the island they were on.
@ThugHeaven said in RP Ice Breakers:
At the risk of sounding like an old fogey gen-xer: there once was a time when you'd page someone(or they'd page you)and say "Hey! Wanna do a scene?"
They or you would agree or not, the person already there would set the scene and you'd go from there or find someone else to do a scene with.
Things were so much easier then.
To go even older and fogery, I remember when people would congregate to public spaces and RP without having to page and or search for RP. You just walk into a place, and there was RP. I find that few and far between now, even among 'faction' hangouts like Turs and Elysium...etc (WoD for terms/flavor, but not limited to that specific genre).
