@ganymede I would take 2001 Shaq - specifically - over any player who has ever played the game on any level. Ever.
Prime Shaq was just absurd.

@ganymede Timmy fulfilled his potential and then some. I can hardly see how he could have had a better career, or that he earned every bit of it.
Shaq was just lazy. He admits it himself. He relied on his immense physical gifts to get by, and even refused to do rehab during the off season because "I get hurt on company time, I rehab on company time".
I mean I get it. He won rings and did relatively little work for it. But he could have been the best ever if he had the crazy work ethic of someone like Kobe.
@auspice "And you two gentlemen in the red shirts, come with me!"
I think I finally fixed our recent technical woes here. The logs so far have been completely silent for the last 3-4 hours, so that's a good sign.
We also upgraded our hardware specs since at peak times we had a couple of instances the server wasn't keeping up.
Please let me know if you experience any more of those 'pink letter' boxes telling you your connection to MSB is lost.
@ganymede He's a could-have-been not because he wasn't a great player (and a really nice person - everything I read about him even after the end of his career confirms it) but because his career did end up cut too short, and he never came particularly close to winning a chip.
Guys like Yao or Embiid (If you want to project a bit, Greg Oden) are a special, dying breed of NBA player; the true bigs, but with something extra in the mix.
That's why sometimes I'm annoyed at Shaq. He was the unicorn in that regard - an enormous juggernaut of a guy, who did win a lot, but who could have won more if he wanted to work for it. But he didn't. Which ... I can't really begrudge him for, yet I do anyway.
@taika Do you have anything like a target opening day, even in terms of a month?
@ganymede Yao is one of those could-have-beens. If Tracy McGrady had stayed uninjured, if China wasn't playing him every summer to the ground... if...
@ganymede All I want from the NBA this season is to not hear Giannis got injured.
Because that kid can do some stuff we haven't seen since Shaq, at least. And he has a freakin' work ethic.
The upgrade is complete. Let's see how that one guys, we were dancing a bit too close to the flame there for a while.
There will be a short downtime at 14:00 today to get the VM's memory upgraded.
It shouldn't last for too long (a few minutes). Apologies for any inconvenience.
One episode left on Ozark... it's really good. There are obvious parallels to Breaking Bad but it gives me a much different vibe, since the characters' moral dance is taking them to a completely different place.
Really solid performances, too.
@alzie Let me know please if you continue to experience these? I tweaked the MaxRequestWorkers setting along with a couple of other things in the apache config.
Sorry about these interruptions folks.
One night this week we'll upgrade to the newest version of nodebb. I'll put up a notice first - it might not help but we'll see.
@alzie Yeah, that's a bit different. The issues we had yesterday were almost entirely network-related ones, (ACONNECT, etc), which actually crashed and forced nodebb to restart each time.
I'll try to dig into this more when I have a few minutes but I was hoping this thing would just work since I've never worked with redis and only peripherally with node.js in the past.
@alzie Were there issues today? I see nothing in the logs (whereas yesterday things had gotten spammy).
By the way if anyone here is versed in redis and feels like lending a hand please drop me a line.
@lithium To be unfair I hated Olicity too. I quite like some romance in these shows as long as the writing isn't terrible and the love story compliments the overall arc. Characters still need to be interesting on their own.
That's not a gender thing either. The love story in Supergirl started fine last season but then the dialogue in every scene Mon-El was part of became really cringe-worthy.
EDIT: @Auspice - and from last episode
