I need the cats. Armello makes me wanna play some sort of royal spy cat.

There is a new car parked outside my apartment. A truck, really.

In the spot I usually park in. It's just outside my window, right by my door. A lovely spot.

But this old-ass (early 90s, so p. ancient for a car), beat-up, rusting Ford pickup is full of junk and has an after-market alarm.

A malfunctioning after-market alarm.

This truck has not moved for two days now.

This alarm goes off oh, every couple of hours.

All day.

5am yesterday.

Midnight.

3:30am.

10am.

Just now, 1:20pm.

Sometimes it's just a long series of beeps. Sometimes it's a full alarm going off.

Last night I reported it to the APD non-emergency, but since I can't pull up the reference number in their report database, I guess something bigger came up and they couldn't make it out (understandable). I've reported it to the front office, but they'll give this person 24 hours before they have it towed.

Why?

Oh because the kicker: this isn't a resident vehicle nor does it have a visitor tag on it.

Fuck you junk truck. I'm a barely functional human being due to your fucking junk alarm and I'm this close to taking something big and heavy to your car to tear the POS out of it.

Based on this thread, there seems to be enough general interest in a WoT setting game that maybe there's enough room for a pair of different flavors. At one time in the day there was like 3-4 WoT games in existence at once and all were doing relatively well (during high times of MU of course).

I've said it before: it makes me sad when people think there can't be multiple games in an IP/genre.

I used to use Atlantis' MUSH text editor when I played on Firan but it doesn't seem to work properly for me anymore. This is okay as it doesn't have 256 colors.

FWIW, Atlantis 2 has an Evennia-friendly 256-color editor that can output both Evennia and MUX2 style color codes, does gradients for fills and so on.

(Of course, I need to actually finish Atlantis 2.)

But yeah, @skew - I've had my Mac since summer 2015 and the OSX update that 'broke' Potato happened in... 2016? I've been missing it (for them dual-inputs) since. I know some people who have been able to get the workarounds (as per github) to work, but I've never been one of them.

I keep telling @Sparks that I will gladly QA for Atlantis 2.....

Mine has been snoozing and cuddling with me all morning.

I try to go for variety, I really do, but I tend to have a lot of stoic, detached characters.

I also have a lot of characters who feel like they aren't good enough. Their core struggle is that they have to strive to be be better to achieve stability in their world. And I don't mean that douchebag who is clearly the best and acts like they aren't, but someone who can even be as competent as everyone else and feels like they aren't. Maybe they grew up being always beaten down and told they weren't good enough. Maybe they failed their military unit, costing people lives, and it's informed everything else in their life and they just don't feel confident enough about anything anymore...

So a lot of my characters either:

a) Are emotionally distant and/or stoic
b) Lack self-confidence

Sometimes it's both.

I do mix it up sometimes. Garden is a good example of that. She's emotional and she's confident af.

Audrey @ Reno, however, is an example of A. She fronts most of her emotions while drinking away the rest.

There are some people I judge for the characters they play. Usually it's those who play very two-dimensional characters that I end up dreading getting into scenes with, esp. one-on-one because I know it's not going to be an engaging scene, there won't be any effort on their end, etc. Meh.

And I rarely associate the character with the player. I'm an author. I dabble in screenplays, too. I don't think, say, Guillermo del Toro is racist for Django Unchained. I'm going to (and have) write some pretty terrible people into my works (we don't hate Rowling for Umbridge!). I actually rather enjoy playing antagonistic characters, but it is hard because of the OOC lashback you receive sometimes. People do often want games to be very ICly copacetic with sunshine and rainbows (this came up in the MU* Gripes thread, re: people wanting immediate resolutions between wronged PCs so everything is right again) and they have a very hard time with antagonistic PCs. Even mildly so.

I love when there can be strife between my PC and another. When two characters don't get along well. I think it's great! But a lot of people can't handle it because they get so invested into their PCs that they think: 'This person's character doesn't like my character, so the player doesn't like ME.'

This is part of why I ST. I can create all kinds of horrible NPCs to play around with. It doesn't make me a bad person! It just lets me stretch my writing legs a bit (plus while I enjoy writing antagonists, I don't want to play them all day; they're best as part-time alts).

It depends.

If we've been actively chatting (back and forth, with responses within a minute or two), I'll nudge after just a few minutes.

If we haven't been, but I double-check and verify they aren't idle on the WHO (esp. if I know they don't use an idle timer), I'll usually ask if they saw it (in case of spam, y'know?) after about 15-20 minutes.

I do not think I have ever made the accusation on these boards. However, it was the specifically naming SunnyJ as someone who complains about dogpiling/attacks/et al that pinged my spidey senses here because SunnyJ is probably one of the more chill people on the boards who has no fucks to give on a general basis.

As for the 'arguing with' I actually noted to Gany and Ark both already that this is already, very obviously, a troll and what my personal recommendation is.
