Personally, I have more issues these days with straight women wanting me to teach them how to roleplay lesbian sex than I do the men playing lesbian horn-bots.

But the latter seem to stay in their lane most of the time these days. They gravitate to each other and I like to imagine two dudes playing their buxom giggly redheads and jerking off to it and I smile.

So, most of my characters remain bi and I just gravitate to whoever's RP I like best and if I get a 'hey I dunno how to RP this lol can you teach me' I just tell them to google it and peace out.

@Darren ... a mix? One cup of flour, one cup of milk, one egg. Shake.

During the early weeks of the pandemic I bought a couple boxes of the mix because flour was impossible to find.

I used to dislike pancakes but I've always loved waffles. This past year however I keep finding myself making pancakes as a snack. Go fig.

Why not? They're cheap ($7.40 for a 10lb bag of mix at Wally World), easy to make, taste great and are more filling than Ramen. Pancakes are one of my go-go to meals on those nights when I crawl home from work without the energy to even take off my shoes, let alone cook.

The fact that I'm cooking them and not my mother helps. A lot of the foods I hated came from a) not knowing food sensitivities as a kid (and parents who didn't believe in allergies unless they were the nearly kills you kind) and b) my mother being an absolutely terrible cook.

She never cooked the pancakes properly so they were always a little doughy and they'd make me sick. So. I disliked pancakes for decades.

@Auspice Man, I live in the pacific northwest and every single time I have tried out chicken with waffles it has had a motherfucking bone in it. This knowledge you are sharing that it is supposed to be a boneless chicken tender makes the whole thing make so much more sense.

That was where I tried it. I JUST MISSED MY SOUTHERN FOOD. Yeah, the PNW is fucking it up.

It's not supposed to have a bone in it!

Imagine those long chicken tenders (some places call 'em chicken fingers) instead. That's what you should have with chicken and waffles.

There's a taco place here in TX called Torchy's and every month they have a taco of the month and one month they did a chicken and waffles taco.... It was a flour tortilla topped with a waffle topped with bacon topped with a fried egg topped with a chicken tender and then syrup over top and I honestly dream of that thing sometimes.

I'd have to Nope! out of trying that. If I want sweet chicken, I'll order some General Tso's.

We're talking two TOTALLY DIFFERENT KINDS OF SWEET.

Don't worry, we ruin our own food.

One of the things you can find in the south (the southeast is 'the south' for any of our non Americans) is (fried) chicken and waffles. The two are delicious together, I promise. One requirement is that the chicken be boneless. Best are large tenders: you can wrap the waffle around it and dunk it in the syrup.

I went to a place on the west coast once and having been away from the southeast for a long time, decided to try the chicken and waffles. I mean, c'mon. How can you fuck up something so basi- they fucked up something so basic. A goddamn fried chicken wing on top of a waffle. And no syrup on the side, just covered on the whole thing. And it's like, you can't eat this with a fork, no, you have to use your hands, which means picking apart a sticky piece of chicken to eat, then eating the waffle separately (or I guess pulling off pieces of chicken to eat on the waffle and little tiny bits of chicken + waffle STILL isn't the same).

      So yeah.
We fuck up our own food.

@Aria I had to ask my hipper, younger friends about smoking weed after this and they definitely said the worst thing they've ever done is strong bong hits. They both advised against it and said they threw up. I can see why you wouldn't recommend it.

The first time I was ever handed a bag from a Volcano. I was told to just inhale the whole thing.

...do not inhale the whole thing on your first try. I just sort of sat there, head spinning. Too much is definitely more of a body hit and just sort of ... yeah like @Aria described. It's not usually the 'stupid pothead' that over-the-top people RP as (and even then if they're just RPing toking casually over time.... they'd prob be more a functional pothead than a dumb one!).

I don't wanna be That Guy, but weed was a net negative in my life and turned it into kiiiind of a living nightmare for a while. It was surprisingly easy to go from normal to shithouse rat crazy, it just took the right strain in the right concentration.

I guess what I'm saying is it's not all giggles and pain relief and you should be as cautious going into marijuana as you would any other potent psychoactive drug. Do your research and don't buy into the "miraculous gift from the Earth Mother that solves everything and could never ever harm you" bullshit that seems to make up about 95% of weed culture.

Also, could this maybe be its own thread?

HOWEVER, some people do have negative reactions to weed (paranoia, bad trips, etc) and I like to think the over-the-top portrayals are just this... people who have bad reactions (either due to an allergy, a bad reaction to chemical imbalances, etc) and shouldn't be smoking it in the first place.

The hemp-derived cbd is legal to ship. I use Flow. It's worth investigating to see if you can do it.

Flow gel is the one I prefer! But the last I'd checked I couldn't get it shipped to me. I'll have to check again. At the time they were very limited in where they were shipping to. But, it's been a while. I stocked up a fair bit before I left Seattle, but I'm just about out so if I CAN get it now....

@Ominous While I understand the horse racing bit... it's very odd here. Being interested in horse races for Australians, at least, is a rather high class interest.

The Kentucky stereotype sums up the big societal divide in white Southern culture, which is based around land-holding aristocracy. Horse racing is the purview of the wealthy plantation owner. When you drive around the Lexington area, you will come across massive horse farms with giant antebellum or modern mansions surrounded by manicured grounds that were once tended to by enslaved black people and poor Irish immigrants paid meager wages.

Walking around barefoot and fucking your cousin in high school comes from the other side of the societal divide. Drive about 20-30 miles east or south of Lexington and you're looking at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDlZLsJJkVA

One of my oldest friends lives in Nashville now, but is from the Lexington area and... yeah. Legit.
I also lived in NKY for a bit and yes, legit. It was a THING to make it very clear you were in NORTHERN KY (or even just to say Cincinnati if you lived right on the river).

I'd probably be dead if it weren't for nurses and budtenders. Budtenders are also super helpful people.

      100%
I'm almost out of the CBD gel I like and since stuff bought in non-legalized states just isn't as good I'm sort of tempted to pester someone in a state it's available in to ship me some. I mean, it's CBD, not THC, so it'd probably be fine.

But when I got it, I asked the girl about gel, using it on my joints, and she showed me the same stuff she began getting for her grandfather and oh god it works. Inflammation gone within five minutes. Before that stuff, when I'd get that painful-packed-with-cotton feeling in my knee and hip, I'd just have to... deal with it. But the gel? Works.

Even if you don't wanna get high, CBD gel > naproxen and similar, by far. (Mind, I am largely immune to naproxen and the like, so. Take with a grain of salt.)

It used to be here. Now it only is during the Kentucky Derby when people want to host a themed party.

Like sure, we've got those grumpy old men with a worn newspaper betting the house on the ponies, but you only ever hear of horse races during Race Day where people wear exceptionally small hats...

Because it's America, the hats are very big during the Kentucky Derby. Which is really, IMO, the only reason anyone cares anymore. Excuse to wear ridiculous hats.

      Nurses are the best.

This is the golden truth in 99.999999% of circumstances.

It blows my mind how easy it can be to get a nurse practitioner at a place.
...and also how worried places are to suggest it.

'We're sorry but Dr. Soandso isn't taking new patients... but his nurse practitioner is?' and you can hear the tensing in their voice.
Like yes. Please. Let me see the nurse who can prescribe things for me, who has been on the front lines (as it were). 100%.

As for weed: different strains do different things, for one. Indica and sativa, yadda yadda. Those who take it for pain management are usually gonna be taking an indica (or a hybrid). Those are the sedating, calming ones that usually have more of a 'body high' (and you can, if you're in a place with legalized, get ones bred specifically for this purpose). If you've smoked and just felt sleepy: it was probably an indica.

Sativas are the ones that get that more hyper, giggly, head-high (and might cause hyper-focusing since it's the 'creative' strain).

I tend to go for indicas myself (or sometimes a bit of a hybrid, like 80/20 just to keep from getting too zzzzzzzz) because of that functional high. My preferred strain is actually Blackwater (https://www.leafly.com/strains/blackwater). It doesn't get me as sleepy as it does some, but the relaxation/stress relief/pain relief is on point.

But seriously, if you live in an area where it's legalized: the people in stores are fucking awesome. You just say 'I'm looking for <X>...' and they will work with you however long to find what's perfect for you. That's how I found the CBD gel I like, my preferred strain, etc. Because of the awesome employees at the store I'd go to in Seattle.
