I'll be honest. To this day, Alan Tudyk's character in (the 2007) Death at a Funeral is one of the best depictions of being fucking high as shit that I've seen in a movie.

I mean, when you're high with your friends? Stupid shit is pretty fuckin' hilarious. That's about standard.

However, one thing being high does is make you more susceptible to the general mood of your surroundings. People who have had a 'bad trip' (mostly happens with acid, but can happen with most drugs) did because they were in a bad environment. People arguing, they didn't feel safe, etc etc.

So someone, for example, RPing being high and jokey and giggly and having a good time during combat and stress? Either their character is a fuckin' idiot or they don't know what they're doing.

It's why the best highs are when you're with friends having a good time. Because you just feed off of each other.

HOWEVER, some people do have negative reactions to weed (paranoia, bad trips, etc) and I like to think the over-the-top portrayals are just this... people who have bad reactions (either due to an allergy, a bad reaction to chemical imbalances, etc) and shouldn't be smoking it in the first place.

As someone whose family is predominantly Irish (my father is 100% Irish, as example)... I get really, really, reeeeeeeeally vexed by the 'Well my great-great-grandfather's mother was an O'Reilly so that means I'm Irish!' crowd. I mean, I guess it could mean they are? But they also can be some of the most freakin' obnoxious.

...like the one guy who sat in an OOC Lounge one time telling everyone how his family were IRISH WITCH HUNTERS. All based on a 'my father's aunt's husband's family have the last name <X> and they're witch hunters based on this google search I did....' Like, not even blood relatives but hooooooo boy.

But yes, the whole distill it into a drinking holiday thing- ugh. Ugggggh.

It's very much an up and down sort of thing. I start feeling better and then it'll just hit me and I have to go lie down for hours.

I feel like I'm losing against this virus.
I was starting to feel better, sense of smell/taste was coming back.

The past couple days I've felt worse. Today my sense of smell/taste are gone again and if I wasn't SO AWAKE mentally I'd be sleeping still even tho I slept until 4.

I desperately want to clean my apartment but I don't even have the energy to shower.

Talk different because of where they grew up, maybe (as in New York or Georgia or California or England or-) but not 'Well this character from Brooklyn is white but this one is black so they should talk totally different'
