There also is a lot that could be done to make things safer that mangement/owners are not willing to do because it would cost money and the owners are rich.

(The job action is something we're trialing in which we'll post a 'set' and players can put in +requests to work out their part in it. This is to help lighten the load on US while @Paradox is still super busy IRL and to give more flexibility to those in other timezones).

It did!

Honestly it could've used even longer in the instantpot than recommended; some of them came out more v. dark brown than black... but I got impatient and wanted it NOW.

I gotta say: black garlic butter IS amazing on steak and it's also good just smeared (w/butter or w/out) on toast.

Highly highly recommend. Black garlic is expensive but if you have an instantpot and don't mind not being able to use it for a couple months.... this is totally worth it.

How many people here started with RPGs like Toon or Paranoia or CP2020? Even early (A)D&D was deeply simple: Pick a class, at each level you might pick a thing, and leave all the rest of the work to the DM or module designers.

Years ago (in the most recent Wora timeframe), Ink(@Darkwater, I can't remember his Wora nick) with some light frustration mentioned how that we're using these incredibly powerful computers and yet almost never did we utilize it.

Nuku, our resident furry now writing Ponyfinder god bless 'im, did utilize it and his Mucks were almost always incredibly popular, partially from theme and partially from implementation.

The unfortunate part is that we're not all game designers, we're not all code developers, and we're not all GMs. When we find a game with the magic balance of all three, it can be simple or it can be complex but I guarantee it will gain popularity. If it can hit critical mass of popularity, it will keep for quite some time.

I'm sad to hear this. Catriona was always very kind and was an excellent storyteller and writer. She had good advice for larger scope projects like the establishment of the Dragon's Knell freehold and was great at invigorating the Dunlin family's larger RP. Very sorry for the loss.

@surreality Yeah, most of the LARPS around here in that timeperiod were one of two things - a sponsored 'club' in HS or university, or held as part of a local Gaming Convention. Pretty much it was 'excuse to have sex with some gaming involved' than the other way around.

I suspect that the answer is that Zak Smith is a professional troll, but I'm always willing to be disappointed in assuming that some people are jerks for the lulz.

I don't know. He hates her for some reason, that seems to be enough.

Although, for what it's worth, he doesn't seem to be transphobic in the general sense. He pulled his podcast off the Escapist because it gave transphobes airtime. But if he has issue with a specific transperson, deadnaming and harassment start popping up.

Not really a defense, just getting facts clear for the sake of a) accuracy, and b) preemptively in case a bunch of people show up talking about how they've never heard of Zak Smith but he sure does sound handsome and successful and do we know for sure he had anything to do with the people he dislikes getting death threats in the mail. (This happens a lot.)

ETA: Okay, so according to what I've found, Alder... removed a stretch goal from a kickstarter that would have been written by a friend of Smith's, over the friend's defense of Smith's previous harassment campaigns.

I am not sure how it would handle straightening, but I have had good luck with the biolage 'styling glaze' over many years. It used to be salon-only, but I've found it at Target and similar in recent years. It's not super cheap, but it's not omfg high end, either, and a little goes a very long way.

It tamed 'I watched the Costner Robin Hood too many times, clearly' bad immediately post-80s perm in hellish summer humidity, so I can definitely say that stuff is fucking magic. It's surprisingly thin and light, too, so it doesn't feel like you're wearing a ton of product in your hair. (I despite that feeling so, so much.)
